doctokwus:blood specimen and other fluids are also taken during autopsy and can tell if a chemical substance was the cause of death. Even something as simple as his hair can be used for drug toxicity screening. It's not that complex 2 Likes |

Neddyogu:I even just read that d family are threatening to sue d CMD for his testimony. Is this kind of seemingly subjective rather than objective evidence that give families reasons to doubt conclusions and give rise to conspiracy theories. I repeat, properly d pathologist should av said 'from the gross and histologic examination,Senator Adeleke died as a result of asphyxiation, probably arising from intake of a substance that caused narrowing of his airways, which we found to av been so,so centimetre less than d normal diameter.Toxicology carried out at so,so lab,on so so date, from blood, fluid or fluid sample collected on so,so date showed so,so levels of d following drugs or substances. This my lord is copy of the lab results from so, so pathcare,Mecure or Clinitex laboratories'. I don't doubt d cause of his death but due to conspiracy theorists, everyone shud be very factual and documentary in their evidences. |

Re: Senator Adeleke's Autopsy Report Reveals High Levels Of Alcohol And Banned Drugs by d33types: 5:31pm On May 17, 2017 |
doctokwus: Toxicology is a vital part of an autopsy and is done in Nigeria.there are competent labs that don't take up to 2wks for drug analysis.example is pathcare You cannot be a medical doctor and not know this. |

Re: Senator Adeleke's Autopsy Report Reveals High Levels Of Alcohol And Banned Drugs by aribisala0(m): 5:35pm On May 17, 2017 |
doctokwus:Nothing highly specialised about it these are very simple tests that can be done on body fluids with basic spectroscopy among other techniques . Body fluids from different compartments are collected and stored as part of forensic autopsies, this has been happening in Nigeria before you were born so stop feeling like James Bond. We have laboratories in Nigeria. How do you think we convict your developer brothers when they bring in their drugs. What do you think NAFDAC is doing. Where necessary samples can be sent abroad but that is quite rare |

doctokwus:And you are privy to his full testimony. You believe there are no written submissions. You cannot assume information was not provided because it was not reported. Have you ever attended a coroners court? There should be the opportunity to cross examine him ,let us not jump to hasty conclusions |

doctokwus:You made a good point. But let us not forget the reason behind the ban of Analgin. It has not been associated with cardiac arrest, rather with agranulocytosis . The recurrent way of pointing out Analgin as being banned, diverts attention to it as the cause of death. How about the alcohol? Alcohol, especially when taken in excess, has been shown to be associated with sudden death (heart attack). Same with smoking (was he a smoker?) The autopsy report should say more about the heart/brain (coronary and cerebral vessels). |

oganoble:Hair would be more relevant for chronic conditions and even archaeological samples that is how we can tell whose ancestors smoked weed , in this case the normal and most obvious are urine and blood, then other cavity fluids and tissue samples. It was not too long ago that the same family was in the news for toxicology and I believe that was performed in Nigeria |

Cmanforall:Bone marrow problems are not an acute problem arising from single use,on the other hand an overdose, interaction with other agents or unknown idiosyncratic reaction can all cause death acutely . It is note worthy that his heart was previously enlarged this could indicate all manner of pathology and predisposition to arrhythmia and sudden death. The fact that it was stated that heavy metals were not found Indicates some kind of toxicology assay was performed |
