Dont mind people painting honda cars black. I use a baby boy and my bro has a discussion continues but we dont have issues or wat so ever because we buy original parts. If i sell dis my honda baby next month i am definitely gonna get a DC. Loving Honda so much.

@emekayoung, dont go there.
ur baby boy has had its fair share of issues.

bottomline, Toyota is tolerant to mishandling and patching, Honda isn't.
Honda is a very powerful and elegant vehicle but its quest for Zero tolerance to patch ups get me pissed off.
y should the legs pull out just cos of inferior part? y can't it be a less severe experience?
anyways I think they have heard Nigerians and from evil spirit till date, they make the suspension parts more rugged

Whatever u do avoid Honda and stick with Toyota, dnt say u were nt warned. Anything with a Toyota badge is what u need esp Carina e, Camry, corolla, avensis. Avoid v6 engine for nw.

Toyota was made with Nigeria in mind BC even d worst kazeen can fix it n it can withstand abuses n still run fine.

D only problem is dt they are expensive to purchase as they ve amazing resale value BC they are rugged n durable even at 4th hand.

And d gear box which has been giving me signs since i bought it in october last year. It has tried. And i have been travelling to d east and back to lagos wit it. And besides who says toyota doesnt give issues? My dear, the issues we encounter wit naija uses cars are due to the poor maintenance culture of the past owners...

My brother, i've never seen where people lie enmasse like naija peeps when it comes to cars, come and see how my brothers wey dey sell toyota engine and parts for ladipo dey hammer on a daily basis, thousands of engines/gearbox/parts sold on a monthly basis and they keep selling more. Yet when you hit the streets you see everyone hyping these toyota cars as if they never ever get issues, i now begin to wonder, who's buying those parts, why are all the thousands of kazeems still employed?

A toyota will be showing my niggas thunder and fire and they'll keep spending and hyping it, consoling themselves with talks like : "if to say na honda/bmw/volvo/benz, by now the car for don die". But when its another car brand that has ordinary bow joint issues, na to rush to nairaland open thread

Fortunately, a lot of peeps are now waking up from the zombie state, who can remember when cars with automatic gears were a no-go area, all the kazeems will, advise you to buy manual gear claiming that auto is not good, also sweetening it up with talks about how you can push start your manual car and so on. Now no one wants a manual gear anymore. We'll soon get there with the toyota hype soon

All those shouting the advantages, can u also state the disadvantages? like, which car is like a thief magnet here in naija, whats the probability of the car getting to that resale point in the first place

pally relax ur mind, those Toyota parts dealer get their leverage on the fact that more Toyota cars are on the road. take a poll, research polls and come back and talk.

bottom line, Honda is intolerant to management, ho ha. quote me anywhere.

I've used sharp Honda cars, some not even Cotonou, imported(my first 04 prelude).
enjoyed it in the north, brought it down to owerri the story changed.
I love Honda cara with a passion, my second and third were Hondas, my guy sharp ones but the truth is bitter. once u go away from OEM, Honda will punish u in the most embarrassing manner. my question is y can't the punishment be a lil less severe? my brother I had to switch to Toyota and will never go back down to Honda unless I relocate to the North!!! Gbam

I also think wen all these gurus are advising peeps to buy any car, they shud ask for where the car would be driven! not just for strong suspension or durable parts but also for availability of OEM parts within that vicinity and most especially availability of TECHNICAL KNOW HOW. I repeat TECHNICAL KNOW HOW!!!

I commented on a thread sometime where one guru; names withheld advised an op to travel miles in excess of 5hrs to get his car fixed by a pro! how annoying, I just politely shredded the guru cos he refused to give out crucial info regarding the issue OPs car was facing, advising him to come to his workshop in hundreds of km and still spend money OH!
I think I'll open a thread for this, its getting too much.

op if ur daily commute route is in a location populated by kazeems, go for Toyota, let the Hondas elegant interior and power drive be the alternative forgone except u have enough time and money to spare.

leave mata for mathais, sometimes circumstances force ur hand, and for that u have to pay by standing on the road? that's the bitter truth, I love Honda, but I can bet u, if u ply my route 4months u would need to change the entire front suspension.
Toyota isn't error free as well, their shocks can mess u up if not OEM, but u know na, it would never leave me stranded, even if the strut and springs disassemble on the highway, I can still manage it.

Well said. I used my second car, a Civic, for 4 years and only had a ball joint issue once cos I didn't act fast enough when the signs started. I'm on my third car now, and guess what, it's also a Honda Civic. For those who say Hondas cannot ply bad roads like Toyota cars, please try and find out the kind of roads that are in Lugbe, Abuja where I live. I love my Honda Civic.

nah, the question is will bad shock absorbers keep him stranded on the road with the vehicle hanging on the driver side fender, with the owner praying that he can hitchhike? we know the answer.
