In this case we will leave the homosexuals out of it. I think that takes out the sexual choices part?

The sexism I agree.

But the hypocrisy, can you give a good scenario?

Not just homosexuality, most things, like casual sex, type of sex, how long someone took to sleep with someone etc

Most common one is guy that sleeps around castigating girl that sleeps around and probably girl that he's probably slept with etc

Oh okay, given your last line I don't think there would be much of a discourse.

But you struck me with type of sex, you mean anal and oral? and how long it took someone to sleep with a girl? You mean if it happens too early on?

Yup

On the type of sex, so far, I haven't seen naija men being aversed to it both online and offline. At least majority aren't.

Do you think a society can thrive without the steadfast dilligent practise of God's command?

Not that they're averse to it, as per something like a bj being considered too 'out there' for a 'decent' girl etc

I think a society can thrive as long as there is some type of moral framework in place to maintain a level of civilisation, doesn't necessarily need to be Christianity or even a religion

Well i dont see how that is being overly exposed as far she did not become a LovePeddler to be versed in such things except you think someone can't be so without being overly exposed?

But you see, if you look at the arab countries, like saudi and you take a typical western country, like america. The moral framework hasnt been effective in establishing civility as opposed to the Saudi religious tenets.

If you take for example, the gun shootings in schools, gang crimes, rapists, increasing rates of divorces etc, you see that those things are virtually absent in states that religion is indoctrinated into the government. There are cases of women subjugation in the arab settings too. But if we were weigh it, the arab society appears to be more civil, orderly and flourishing too in the case of welfare.

In light of what i explained above, and you of a centrist view, wont the idea of such form of government make a society more civil provided there is no discrimination against other religion and extremism in exercising such laws?

I'm not saying whether it is or isn't, that was just an example of my being 'too concerned with people's sexual choices' comment. Plus you may not think so but there are people who do and they're who I'm talking about

I wasn't arguing which is more civilised than the other either, I just said a framework needs to be in place at the very least, that's a different topic.

Obviously and realistically not everyone will comply but it's just there as a benchmark. I'm saying I don't think religion is paramount for a society to thrive, that it can be devoid of religion given there are basic ethical foundations in place that will guide your average man/woman to know his/her wrong from his/her right. I wasn't debating which one set up is the best or 'better' than the other.

How are you defining/measuring civilisation? Countries like Saudi may not be known for things like school shootings, gang crimes, divorce etc but what about things like capital punishment for 'trivial' breaches of law, honour killings, women not being able to leave their homes without a male or drive, etc?
Re: Forum Games Chat Thread - A Thread For All Fun Lovers by Nobody: 5:06pm On May 18, 2017
I know it was just an example of yours but I asked that question to get your own 'personal' view of the matter.

My using the word thrive was to get the bare minimum of a society from you, which you have said people won't always oblige to and the 'least' bit of framework needed without religion being in place. Which puts the effectiveness to question as seen by the examples i gave. Pardon me for bringing out a topic from a topic.

But as we have delved into the main motive of my question, the question is which brings out or conforms people to the best of their behaviour, remains?

Civilization to me has different facets and interpretation to certain individuals within a landmark. I will therefore say, it's the ideology, the ethics, customs and morals those certain individuals wish to go by that has guaranteed the progress, well being, order and sanctity of human life by those said people within a landmark only. So what I call civilised to me may b barbaric to others and vice versa. Or do you have a different opinion?

Now to the Saudis, I believe I kept a clause in my earlier post about adopting that system of government by not subjugating women, intolerance to other religion and extremism or being too fanatical that voids logic or common sense.

In details, I do not support the ban on women not driving or being chaperoned around by a male, not being allowed to vote and trivial offences that are met with punishment not proportional to it. However, I feel this is as a result of the teachings of Islam(I stand to be corrected) and more to do with fanaticism hence why I said being circumspect and introspective about it or centrist also. I really don't think a Christian version will have these sort of failings.

I for one support the beheading of those who steal out of greed and selfish interest not a person who steals out of lack or hunger ,the mutilating of those who rape and in cases of paedophile, it should be met with a capital punishment etc. Punishment commensurate with their offences. It's like they say, religion is the opium of the masses, what better way to structure a society than to use religion prevalent within a space?

Lol why only mutilation for rapists if thieves (greedy) deserve capital punishment?

I think mutilating them is more serious, like cutting off his dick and having him live the rest of life without ever having an hard on again. But if it's capital punishment, I also support, just seem easy to me.
