Ekiti on the other hand is too small to be an independent state, still don't understand why it was carved out of Ondo. The only reason history gives us is that Abacha wanted to repay Aluko, no economic basis.
So can't really blamed the stomach infrastructure governor, the funds ain't sufficient for anything else.

The funds fayose is receiving is enough considering their size n population.

it is not a matter of funds. what has he done with the little at his disposal. I was in Ekiti for the first time last year, I almost shed tear. the level of infrastructural development is like when Nigeria just emerged from colonialism. Yet, you have a comedian of governor who sees nothing wrong with the dire state of his domain. To be honest, I think Ekiti people deserve the trash they are getting. It was clear from when Ambode was asking people to vote for him that he had a clear vision of what Lagos will be if elected. The difference is class, intellect, quality experience gained through shrewd revenue mobilization. Ekiti is now an IDP where people line up for food.

Suddenly people realized the difference between the resources of the two states but if it between Akpabio/Udom of Akwa Ibom and Rochas of Imo or Wike of Rivers and Ortom of Benue, the differential in monthly allocation would not be factored in.

For those talking of IGR. The massive increase in the igr of lagos is due to the visionary leadership in the state since 1999. During military regime, lagos was poor. Simple.

In 2001, the obj govt increased minimum wage to N6,000 for states and N7,500 for oil producing states but included Lagos as part of states to pay the N7,500 on account of cost of living in lagos. Lagos state couldn't pay and NLC threatened strike. Tinubu opened the state account to the labour and they found that truly the state wouldn't be able to pay as the igr was extremely low.

Tinubu devised the strategy of shoring up the igr which his successors built on. Even when obj later seized the local govt allocation for lagos to cripple tinubu, lagos govt ensured the effect was not materially felt.

The simple fact is that many state governors are incapable of thinking outside the box. They have programmed themselves to receive only allocations from federation account to spend and no more.

If militants cripple oil supply today, Fayose and many other that are posing with 'stomach infrastructure' will run out of town to avoid being stoned. Aregbesola was all in all in osun when oil money was flowing and was boasting of 'financial engineering' in running the state. Today, how many times does he appear on television.

Sometimes you begin to wonder if Nigerians truly don't deserve what they get from these politicians. Looking at the comments so far tells you a lot of why it is so easy for politicians to do what they do and get away with it. Smh!

I have had a lot of conversations with folks from back home and all they say is " Idea Hijack" is all that goes on in Kogi and even after stealing the ideas the leadership doesn't put them to use. What's wrong even if it's on contractual bases to engage the Man with the idea and work the implementation with him or her? Nobody is ever going to let his idea out wholesome. Everybody is a stake holder and wants growth and development of the state but things should be put in proper perspective. Am in and interested and armed with ground breaking ideas only if implementation is guaranteed. Am not about the Money but putting my noble ideas to work if they are satisfied workable then we workshop them.

Thank you for understanding basic economics. 75% of states in Nigeria are not economically viable and just constitute a drain on the country. Even Lagos would be much more economically viable merged with Ogun state. A Lagos/Ogun state would easily attain the 2nd or even 1st biggest economy in Africa.

Only Edo , delta state and ekiti are of the same level
