Thank you. Yes it helps. I think Morgan Capital charges 0.25% but I came across some posts saying there are other hidden charges.

I am not really a JIJO person. I don't intend to use signals or indicators per se. More of fundamentals, that's why I need a reliable broker that I can also use their reports. From what I have seen so far, I really like FSDH‘s analyst reports.

Will check ARM's charges. Thanks again.

Morgan charges a yearly access fee of N2500. if peradventure you do not have that amount left in your account with them by the beginning of that year, your access to the online platform will be block. even if they do not allow you trade that whole year it will still be still be debited when ever you intend to trade. I do not know if other stock bricking firm with online access operate that way too.
I know that with other analog brokers like cashcraft and co its only their stated charges at point of purchase or sale that they deduct. Most times money left in your account with unspent generate interest.

Thanks a lot.
There was a time I saw complaints of hidden charges, as well as poor customer service. They were also suspended at a point in time. for JIJO, won't that be a problem? I know their trading platform is directly linked to the NSE's trading engine but is there any other stockbroker linked in the same way?

I don't really want to do JIJO but it is possible I want to exit shortly. I just don't want a broker that is prone to disappointing it's customers.
If you use Morgan, please share your experience. And other people too. Please help. Thanks.
I use Morgan and they are not that bad, all you need to be doing, is to share any difficulty you encounter with them, here. And you'll be given a solution.

@BullBearMkt ....No more BUY SIGNAL again abi SIGNAL dan die ....? grin grin grin
...lol!!!
You're very funny Tritri. Just wondering what you did with those provided before! There will always be BUY SIGNALS as long as the Exchange open every week. But honestly, I am trying to reduce the signals send to the forum nowadays, as I notice many TA are coming onboard (which is a good thing), and many people here are more inclined to fundamentals on NSE.

I will endeavour to always attend to specific queries addressed to me.

...more importantly, my objective on this forum is to show people how to use technical analysis to their advantages, hence series of educative posts sent earlier including the webinar organised recently. But once in a while as I mentioned before, I will be posting buy signals.

If you require further assistance, kindly send notification to me via my Nairaland profile.

You're welcome. I don't know if their charges are 1% of your total transaction cost plus other statutory charges for CSCS, Stamp Duty etc. I hope this helps? How much does Morgan Capital Charges? I choose ARM because they seem more established in other areas outside stock brokerage.

Stockbroking firms are like humans non is perfect. You can have 75% or more performance from some of them. As par charges I still prefer Morgan. but if you are not a trader u can use Investment-one. They also have online platform with 1K one-off payment for the service.

You're right Morgan Capital is cheap but has 2500 naira annual charge for use. I don't know of ARM charges outside the transaction charge and statutory fees but their reports might not be too detailed for you. Please JIJO? cheesy

Thanks a lot. Now thinking of using at least two brokers. Maybe Morgan and another that has a fund management business. Investment one, ARM or another. At least I can get some change on spare cash if I put it in their money market funds. Makes moving cash easier.

JIJO is a very sharp two-edged sword. I'm not sure I am suited to it, at least from my non-trading experience. I know say na wetin dey reign for here be dat. grin

CSL Stockbrocker, is another Stockbrocker with real time online trading platform, the only different between them and Morgan capital is their total charge in buying and selling.
CSL charge 3 percent all put together, while Morgan charge 1.5 percent in all put together (buy and sell)
CSL has no yearly charge, but Morgan charge 2,500.
CSL serve better in terms of investment to compare with Morgan, but I believe that Morgan is strongly coming up.
Their charge is superb and favour jijo group more better than other stockbrokers.
At side of showing bid and offer
Morgan is now failing, their bid and offer these days is not working properly, am yet to discover bid and offer in CSL platform.

Morgan capital charges 1.5 percent in buying and selling put together.
Buying is about 0.65 while
Selling is about 0.85
But their commission alone minus stamp duties and other charges is 0.25

Hi, i have been seriously considering opening an acvount with ARM Securities. So you use their trading platform? Is it linked directly to the floor of the stock exchange and how user friendly is the platform?
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by bigtt76(f): 10:17pm On May 20, 2017
Yes I use them and it's user-friendly. It is connected to the stock exchange's servers like others so you can get real-time stock prices and make your purchases which are validated real-time if done before 12 noon else it takes effect next day. I hope this helps.

Rights issue are additional shares issued by a company to its EXISTING shareholders. The existing in capital letter as a matter of emphasis to tell you that not for everybody but for people who currently are shareholders in the company.

Rights issue is a financing strategy at a cheaper cost used by companies to either refinance debt (i.e. debt settlement), business expansion or fund strategic acqusitions.

Rights issue price are usually lower than the market price because its suppose to woo existing shareholders to take it up.

They are not available on the floor of the exchange as they are bought through designated issuing company's underwiriter. Think of this like an IPO (Initial Public Offer)...Note that the difference between IPO and rights issue is that the former is for all comers but Rights are meant for existing shareholders.

As an existing shareholder, it is NOT compulsory you take it up. As such, it can be ignored. You also have the option of buying into it or you buy and then sell it on the exchange.

Most investors dislike rights issue because it dilutes their shareholding in the company. The value of their investment drops as more shares are being created causing total outstanding shares to be on the high side.

Like i said, it is not compulsory you buy it. Just do your DD before taking your decision.

Good luck.

Let's just leave him. People like him preach even in the buses and the Word of God is not meant to be accepted only when convenient. Bible says preach in season and out of season, Bible also says go yea into all the world and preach the gospel. So leave him, this place is still part of all the world. After all whose report should we follow? God's or man? Man says "don't preach" God says "go ye into all the world and preach". I think the brother is a die hard christian. The like of Paul who was tortured, stoned and even sent to prison many times for preach. Yet he continued. Pls let accommodate him, may be he'll bring in God's finger into our portfolios smiley
