zed7: The question is that they want to build a massive house to house all humans living then. That's why Nimrod said that they may live together and not spread over the earth. The wrong they did is not the height of the building, but the fact they intend to flout God's command to "fill the earth" 1 Like |

mykel25:My problem with you is that you don't read instruction or you lack understanding, read the Bible portion well. You talk as if they will just stabilize like that, remember such has never happened before and how easy will it be for you to get people that understand your language and have the requisite skill to continue the project. |

FOLKS really, you guys should get a chill. Remember the popular saying "if you can't beat them, you join them" I think that should apply here. |

Op,from my own understanding the tower of babel may not be a building, it may be a machine of sort.that passage shows the power in unity ,it shows people who are united are powerful (even stupid people).they found blueprint of helicopter and other machines designed in ancient Egypt so their must have been technology back then.so the machine could be a teleportation machine and they wey close to being successful but when they could not understand each others language again the project was abandoned. Jokes apart who will allow a group of surgeon that speaks different languages operate on him? |

zed7: The problem is not the bible, but it's believers are dumb enough to take everything literally. Some certain tales in the bible are overly exaggerated, while others are true. In fact, not everything in the bible may be true. In those days, people were building pyramids in North Africa and Mesopotamia region (modern day Iraq area), even the Mayans in South America, and if you study history, you'll see its easy to see how early man thought he could actually build a structure as high as reaching the heavens. Obviously, the writer didn't know how high the sky, or may be he knew, but he wanted to emphasize it was really a very tall building. Again, the problem is not the writer, the problem is dumb religious people who can't make use of their mind. Its called hyperbole!!. Regarding the destruction of capacity to build by destroying a language, that's perfectly true- LITERALLY, linguists has confirmed it. If you destroy the language of a people; how would they learn how to build? You need your own original language to learn to build, not a new language. So, the bible is perfectly right on that one. Any civilization when dispersed and they begin speaking different languages, would eventually separate into different cultures unable to work together. Even today, if you come to Yorubaland or Igboland or Zululand, or any other culture and disperse their language, making them unable to understand each other, they'll not be able to work together to achieve any common goal. If you research it further you'll discover those countries speaking their own (one) language are also more technologically advanced than others; Japan, Russia, Germany, Korea, China, Britain, France, Spain, e.t.c. 3 Likes 1 Share |

[b]SHALOM![/b[ zed7: THE BIBLE IS A SPIRITUAL BOOK, AND THE REALITY OF SPIRITUAL POWERS MUST BE ACCEPTED TO UNDERSTAND IT FULLY. Is heaven up? Heaven is not "UP;" THE WAY TO HEAVEN is "UP." Could the tower be as high as the Burj Khalifa? MAGNITUDE of height is NOT important; only SUFFICIENCY OF HEIGHT. The Tower had to reach THE CLOUD COVER. Anyone with the requisite SPIRITUAL ENERGY could then USE THE ASSOCIATIVE ATTRIBUTE of Clouds to TRANSLATE from Earth Realm into THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN, achieving PORTAL. This could be problematic on many levels. Don't the world have a common language now? The point of eliminating language was to prevent the building of the tower at that time. After the Knowledge of how to Translate was lost, our Tower-Buildinb became inconsequential. Has anyone seen heaven today with all the latest technology available? People have seen Heaven, but not in the way you think is necessary. If a WINDOW into Heaven were opened next to you, and you looked in, you would not be able to see anything, because you do not have the necessary Spiritual Energy. Looking into such a Window and SEEING anything, without the necessary prerequisite Discipline could KILL you. Your MIND has to be BRACED and REINFORCED to survive such exposure. As a Christian, we sometimes wonder about certain passages in the bible. Actually, Christians have THE Spirit of God, Who leads into All Truth. So many questions to ponder on. The reason for this thread is to get explanations from bible 'scholars'. The floor is open. Why not get The Holy Ghost, instead of chasing "Scholars" around. 1 Like |
