ethiopia is a country i made research about when i first found out they were not colonized. But is it true. From 1936 to 1941,"Abyssinia" was under italian rule. So, in this spec Was Ethiopia a colony?I would say that the Italians never really gained any sort of foothold in Ethiopia, either then or earlier. Obviously they were repulsed by the Ethiopians at Adwa in 1896, and neither before nor after did they ever have any real control over the region. In 1936 the Italians annexed and 'occupied' Ethiopia and re-named it Italian East Africa, but the Ethiopians never capitulated and Italian control n the region was extremely limited, and any form of control only lasted until 1939 when the British intervened.

as for me the only country in africa that is free of colonization is liberia.
