Am so so sad reading comments that are keeping me worried and disturbed about how the devil is really having his way in the lives of the bride of Jesus Christ. This is nothing but end time signs. We are in the generation where God almighty is less important, we have forgotten where we are coming from and where who rescued us from the hand of Satan has promised to take us to if only we can make Him number 1 in our life. Hmmmm....no wonder Jesus asked if He will meet faith when He comes back. Sleeping in church is a sign of spiritual weakness and sickness.

Most of the time is due to no1, boring preachers. I attend an Anglican church and dayumm the vicars are way took boring. You could know something about a subject but you may not know how best to teach and engage ur members.

If u ever listened to Myles Munroe preach, or David Ibiyieomi or even pastor Chris. Your chances of sleeping is very Low. even if u are not a church goer, these men will say things to you that no pastor has ever told u.

People sleep in the church because listening to the same brainwashing technic every Sunday becomes boring.

This are just partial reasons why you sleep in church one major reason is you dont have the zeal for God's word if u do no matter how boring there are still senses you can gain from it 2)the devil will always come as bird to pick the seed of God's word in your heart and its easily done when you sleep so he makes everything looks so foolish that all u do is sleep then he begins his work.you can only stop all these when you are spirit filled.

Nt having enough sleep at night ( Saturday night precisely) could cause one to sleep at the church as well OP.

I was always sleeping in church when I was younger... Now I hardly even get dizzy... How time flies

The reason why people sleep in church is because most preachers don't know how to tell good stories, when you preach you accompany it with good stories.

I noticed this, even though I slept late and wake up very early, I can stay awake till the end of lecture if the lecturer tell stories that correlate with the topic.

I believe same thing applies to any kind of teaching, apart from telling stories the preacher should know how to play with words, make it sound as if the topic have never been treated before.

Sleeping in church isn't really a good act as I've found many worshippers guilty of this. Well, I think I've figured out 3 causes....
1. Boring Preaching/Teaching: Some pastors are not just good at biblical teachings and preaching. They should be able to relate the topic to present day happenings or experiences as this would spice up the preaching. They should also avoid repeating thesame message over and over again . My pastor isn't guilty of this anyway .

2. Comfort: The comfort provided in some place of worship is enough to make people sleep seff.. Very comfortable chairs, Air condition everywhere and projectors to display bible verses . I think this could also be a cause. Just saying tho'.

3. Inactive ushers: The ushers are very relevant in the church; aside guiding worshippers they ought to also wake any individual sleeping during the course of service . Some individuals can sleep comfortably from Sunday school to 'the grace'

If You sleep 3am and wakeup 6am,
Leave your house 7:30am
Service start 8am expected to end by 12pm

That day ushers are you companion, Your brain will force you to sleep at any comfort,

You go still day alert to know when to say amen or alleluya even though the preacher say if you are sleeping say amen

According to my knowledge...Jesus used jokes to teach. And as far as the joke doesnt joke with sensitive issues and is done at the right time (not when its time to pray) i think its ok
