My own story sef bitter last year o. This is my fourth jamb and it's not as if i'm dull or i've not been having high marks. In fact last year, i was staring at my admission in front of me like dis and wrong subjects combination kicked me off!
So I believe God has his own plan for us and this year is his plan..

okay. Philosophy. UI doesnt use all your o'level subjects. They use the 5 that's applicable to your course. Calculate your aggregate using last year's model and compare to d cutoff.

Go ahead if you want to change to linguistics. For linguistics, you'll be using;

maths
english
lit-in-eng
CRS
Govt

Going by this your agg score is 66.67. Last year merit cutoff point for linguistics was 57.08. So You are good to go.

I saw it somewhere on Nairaland that someone cannot apply for UTME and DE the same year. Please how true is this because I would prefer DE to HND. I have a diploma in SLT from Ibadan polytechnic with lower credit and from my research on the Jamb brochure, UNIOSUN accepts lower credit for my chosen course. Thank you---------------------

If you want to apply for DE, you can as well apply for HND too. But that of utme and DE? I don't know. Some people do it, but with this new jamb system, I can't advise you to do it, but you can decide yourself whether to do it or not.

Jamb subjects combination is different O'level combination, i.e you could write a subject in UME and not include that same subject in O'level.

For example; I'm going for statistics.

My UME combo is; maths, eng, and any two from (phy,chem, bio, geo/fmaths).

My O'level combo is; maths, eng, phy, chem and any othe sci sub excluding agric science. (bio, geo/fmaths)

Therefore I could make my UME and O'level combos look like this;

UME: maths, eng, bio and fmaths
O'level: maths, eng, phy, chem and geo.

people do run from it cos of excess digging involved in it.

cutoff for industrial and prod. Engr last yr was 58.33
quite close but then u can begin to consider other courses too.
Agric engineering had cutoff of 50.5, food tech (56.00) while wood product engr(50.00)

But some one said it isn't necessarily what's on your jamb that you'd put there plus I also checked there brochure it only said mathematics, English and any other subject except agricultural, I got it from there Website. Am just saying because I'd like to substitute my physics for biology because biology is part of the core courses but I didn't write it in jamb. Either way, I still have a high score but you know I'd always like to go for the higher score that's why I want to be sure by asking.

guy don't make the mistake of removing any subject among ur jamb comb.in place of another one to avoid stories that touch.
don't give them any single reason to kick u out.

u need all ur four subjects u sat on jamb along with any other subject that is among ur olevel subjects requirements for ur giving course.

the brochure u quoted there is use as a guild lines to help u choose ur jamb combo well.
why trying to go against the same brochure by removing one subject it helped u to chose for ur jamb exams?.


u sat for biology in ur jamb cos u believed it was more easy than physics but now that it has helped u ,u wana substitute it with physics cos u have more nice grade in it than biology.

do u think ui is too daft to shun this?

good question. Search for "The Medical students and aspirants thread" on nairaland and read through all d pages (seems they are close to page 450 now). Everything you need to know about Medicine, dentistry, and every other medical course is embedded in the thread. Just create time and read it.
