Just one. I has a bulge on its casing, research says its overcharging over time. Power supply is good in my area so only gets drained may be once in 3months usually when we have a fault.

therein lies ur problem, battery has been overcharging. either ur inverter doesn't have an intelligent charging system or the battery is expired. here u will need a load tester to perform load testing on that battery and consult the inverter manual to ensure it has the 3phase intelligent charging module. power/flood charge from 0-90%, trickle charge to 100% and then the float charge to maintain 100%

I just found out the real cause of my overcharged battery, its the inverter.

The picture below show that my mercury inverter spec has a 13.75vdc float charge while the recommended float charge for a gel battery is far less at 13.0vdc.

Mercury no try for me o. My next battery is definitely going to be flooded if am to use this inverter.

typical, there u have it.
either u use flooded batteries or u connect an intelligent external battery charger that u can access the GUI and instruct the charger how to operate. u can even set cut off time based on ambient temp. some inverters have this function.

the current project I'm working on, I had to order for a smart external battery charger.

I am about to buy GBM 200Ah/12v battery to add to the one (Optimum) I bought earlier in the year. Kindly advise on the durability/effectiveness of a GBM battery. I don't seem to hear much about it. Do you also refurbish batteries? Will love to refurbish two that are weak just to support the new one.

Inverter battery cannot be refurbished. I'll buy it and scrap it.

Adding old batteries to new ones are also not OK professionally.
