And any news about Ahmed Musa?

I haven't heard anything about teams interested in signing him, I doubt if he's ever going to win his way back to Leicester city's starting lineup.

Perhaps, they should give him out on loan, if they wouldn't want to sell him right away.

Niaja too like to imitate. I beg make we love our fellow Africans. The true pace-setters are those who innovate and set standards. Not copy copy westerners. Truly we are just super-consumers. Na these kind statement dey start Nigeria vs Ghana wars or to make other Afticans start the hating. I be Nigerian but let truth be told, we too like to form one thing. We ate the loudest anywhere we are. Honestly I really do wish our advantage in population can count positively for us.

Yeah you are right. That German of Nigerian descent manned the German defence wella. We could not do shingbai.
Ever noticed that apart from the North Africans our players are the most refined in appearance? The other African countries always try to swag up but end up looking like Bansie or Diouf of Senegal with him sandpaper hair.

Onyekuru getting a lot of attention, new report by skysports

Who is Henry Onyekuru? We profile the Nigerian striker wanted by Arsenal
By Michael Hincks

Henry Onyekuru is attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs, but what do we know about the striker?

The 19-year-old looks set to move away from Belgium this summer, with Arsenal said to be in talks over a move for the KAS Eupen forward.

The Nigerian is certainly a player in demand, with SSN HQ reporting last week that Everton, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion were also keen.

Here, we take a closer look at the player with just a £6.8m release clause in his contract…

Profile

Name: Henry Onyekuru

Age: 19

Born: Onitsha, Nigeria

Position: Forward

Club: KAS Eupen

International recognition: First call-up for Nigeria on May 22

How good is he?

Onyekuru ended the season strongly in Belgium, scoring 10 goals in 10 games during the play-off stage in the domestic league.

And having scored 12 times during the regular season, Onyekuru missed out on the 'Golden Bull' to RSC Anderlecht forward Lukasz Teodorczyk, who scored more away goals that the Eupen striker.

Onyekuru also scored twice in the Belgian Cup, finishing the season with 24 goals in 41 games.

It was undoubtedly a breakthrough campaign for the teenager, though he did show promise in 2015-16, netting six times en route to Eupen's promotion to the top tier.

The Nigerian recently lost out on the Young Player of the Year award in Belgium, finishing third behind Landry Dimata of Oostende and Anderlecht's Youri Tielemans.

How was he discovered?

Onyekuru moved from Nigeria to Senegal to join the Aspire Academy in 2010. The academy is the product of a Qatari-based initiative which aims to unearth a host of footballing talent across a number of developing countries.

Eupen play a major role in this project. They have been owned by the ASPIRE Zone Foundation since 2012, and are seen as a stepping stone for players - such as Onyekuru - who dream of plying their trade in Europe's biggest leagues.

Onyekuru himself moved to Eupen in July 2015, and he is currently one of three Nigerians in the squad - which also features players from Qatar, South Africa and Venezuela, to name but a few.

Attracting interest

Liverpool, Celtic and RB Leipzig were linked with Onyekuru earlier this season, but now Arsenal have emerged as favourites to land the forward.

Sources close to the player said they were confident the forward would play in the Premier League next season, having already turned down moves to Belgian giants Brugge and Anderlecht.

The interest coincides with a call-up to the Nigeria squad for upcoming friendlies against Corsica and Togo.

A debut for the Super Eagles would certainly cap off a fine campaign for Onyekuru, but we must wait to discover where he'll be playing next season.

Come on Sir Basco... come on man smiley

Onyekuru Lead Alhassan Ibrahim, Etebo, Ebuehi In Top Performers In Eagles Training

Super Eagles of Nigeria geared up for their upcoming friendly game against Corsica and Togo by observing their first training session in France.

Owngoalnigeria.com correspondent who watched the session confirmed Henry Onyekuru as the star man during training with his twinkle toes helping him to evade his markers with ease, particularly when he was up against William Troost-Ekong.

The hot in demand KAS Eupen forward also showed quick turn of pace and calmness on the ball, and his positioning means he is always available to receive the ball.

Another player who stood out was regular Super Eagles forward Oghenekaro Etebo, with his close dribbling skills and strength leaving his markers in their wake for the period of time the training was on.

Dutch-Nigerian full back Tyrone Ebuehi also impressed with his confidence on the ball especially for someone who is a defender. One area of his game that also caught the attention of our man on ground was his ability to bring the ball under control with ease.

Alhassan “Mu’azam ” Ibrahim was full of tricks and produced some scintillating flicks during the warm up session with the ball. One thing that was clear about his performance was his quick thinking and speed of application of ideas despite his not too quick style of playing.

Onyekuru Thorn Between Arsenal, Anderlecht- I Love Arsenal But Anderlecht Are In The Champions League

Red hot KAS Eupen forward Henry Onyekuru has openly admitted he is thorn between joining the team he loves and the team that appears to have what looks like the best option for his career now.

The forward who has been heavily linked with a move away from modest side Eupen in the summer, has narrowed his options to just two teams, Anderlecht and Arsenal .

19 year old Onyekuru who is in the camp of the Super Eagles current gearing up for their upcoming friendly games against Corsica and Togo says why a move to Arsenal will help him realise his dreams. A move to Anderlecht will see him play in the prestigious UEFA Champions League next season.

Both teams are currently locked in talks with Eupen with a bid of around £8m said to be sufficient enough to price him. A fee which both teams can comfortably afford for the scorer of 24 during the recently concluded Belgium league.

“I am enjoying myself in Belgium. This competition is fun and I’m still learning things here, but I’ve always dreamed of the Premier League. We will see, though. I still have enough time to make a decision.

“The Champions League is the lead that Anderlecht has. In addition, I can only say that there are two big clubs each with their own playing style.”

Generally speaking I don't think like that especially on the home front as in Nigeria and how we run things (let the best have it is my motto) but when it comes to international football or sports I want Nigeria to be first or never. It's kind of quirky. Don't take it too serious.

You are right oooo..... This Zambian team ehn.. hmmmm.... I just dey look them... they look so resilient and very very enterprising.

They have already equalled the class of 2007's showing at an U-20 WC (Zambia's best performance and finish so far). It is most likely this squad surpasses their predecessors and some of them go on to be household names for Zambian football just like The 2012 Afcon winning side that had Emmanuel Mayuka and Stophila Sunzu from the 2007 U-20 side that lost to Echiejile's Nigeria.
