Like you earlier stated, it's your opinion.

Exactly. Right now the true scientific reason for LGBT is still unknown and have been the "opinions" of many but if you look at it logically and critically you would see the abnormality in it as it does not in any way fit into the human way especially since we are not hermaphroditic by nature but have fully formed individual sexual organs as male or female so it leans more towards a mental disorder.

You still haven't offered any compelling argument to make me believe that it's a mental disorder. According to proudafrogal post, for anything to be classified as a mental disorder, it should cause the person distress and prevent them from living a normal life.
The sex hormone thing isn't an argument because hormonal treatment for Homosexuality has been tried with devastating effects.

Doc? Must you always wait for evidence before concluding? Don't we have minds of our own?

I know you're a scientist but don't you think some evidences are influenced by bias factors also?

Are you saying you can't give conclusions, personal conclusions drawn from your mindset or even observations around you?

Even in research, conclusions are done with the help of hypotheses.

What about your hypothesis and not evidence from elsewhere smiley
I understand your point. For any conclusion to be error proof, it must be backed by evidence. That doesn't stop anyone from coming up with ideas and hypotheses.

Evidence can be influenced by bias, that's why peer review is there to eliminate such.

As for my own personal hypothesis, sexual orientation is not a choice neither is it influenced by upbringing.
Thank you grin grin

I think many people are confused because I created this thread in the religion section. I have not even brought my Christian beliefs into this. The only thing I stated in the OP was that as a Christian, I am meant to love them. And I am sure that Is one thing you atheists will agree with me on. My question is, at what point we we start seeing "progressive" as abominable? Why do you accept homosexuality and go "ewwwww" at transgenderlism?

in my opinion I take being progressive as abominable when it infringes on people's basic rights to exist and enjoy life.

I don't have mixed feelings about the trans group because I hate them. it is because of things they demand for at least in the American society for example some say a man who prefers dating cis women only is transphobic also males who have not undergone gender reconstruction surgery can use which ever bathrooms they like.

then there is this issue of nonbinary transgender people forcing themselves into people's spaces.

Umm... It's still wrong to hate on a group because of the actions of a vocal minority. That's like classifying all blacks as criminals because a small number of them are involved in gang activity.

Homosexuality is wrong becos it negates the course of nature?
but ma'am infertile couples also can't procreate why aren't you bashing them since they can't procreate. Is it because you are just worried about 2 adult guys or 2 adult girls having sex even when it is totally none of your business Hmmmmmmmmmmm

Humans needs to procreate, Homosexuality negates that. It's totally disgusting.
this isn't a good reason try again. I find oatmeal disgusting but other people don't . Would I start forcing down my hatred for oatmeal into everyone's throat cuz I don't like it for the umpteenth time what is the deal with religious people and not minding their business Are they fucking you?? Is it your gay sex. Why are you so bothered with what consenting adults do for petrs sake. These people are a minority in the population so procreation is not even a problem there has always and will always be a majority if heterosexuals okay wink
Be enlightened

Because some holy book said so?
Homosexuality is totally normal. Over 400 species of animals have been known to exhibit homosexuality. Only one of them exhibits homophobia. And you say homosexuality is abnormal

Homosexuality is totally natural. Over 400 species of animals have been know to exhibit homosexuality. Only one of them exhibits homophobia. And you say homosexuality is abnormal

isn't he right in a way? abnormal is deviating from what is seen as normal. so people see difference in either negative or positive way for e.g. having dimples is a deviant from the norm which people tend to see as beautiful while in some cultures being ambidextrous is seen as negative . so one can say homosexuality is abnormal.

Abnormal in sexual context has never been seen in a positive light.
Normal in sexuality isn't a fixed point, it's a spectrum. So, saying a sexual orientation is abnormal maybe based on population size is wrong, that was why I made the AB negative blood group analogy.
Re: Is This The Future? (photos) by analice107: 6:43pm On May 25, 2017
Now I want to remind you, though you were fully informed once for all, that though the Lord [at one time] delivered a people out of the land of Egypt, He subsequently destroyed those [of them] who did not believe [who refused to adhere to, trust in, and rely upon Him].

And angels who did not keep (care for, guard, and hold to) their own first place of power but abandoned their proper dwelling place—these He has reserved in custody in eternal chains (bonds) under the thick gloom of utter darkness until the judgment and doom of the great day.

[The wicked are sentenced to suffer] just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the adjacent towns—which likewise gave themselves over to impurity and indulged in unnatural vice and sensual perversity—are laid out [in plain sight] as an exhibit of perpetual punishment [to warn] of everlasting fire.

Nevertheless in like manner, these dreamers also corrupt the body, scorn and reject authority and government, and revile and libel and scoff at [heavenly] glories (the glorious ones).

But when [even] the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, judicially argued (disputed) about the body of Moses, he dared not [presume to] bring an abusive condemnation against him, but [simply] said, The Lord rebuke you!

But these men revile (scoff and sneer at) anything they do not happen to be acquainted with and do not understand; and whatever they do understand physically [that which they know by mere instinct], like irrational beasts—by these they corrupt themselves and are destroyed (perish).

Woe to them! For they have run riotously in the way of Cain, and have abandoned themselves for the sake of gain [it offers them, following] the error of Balaam, and have perished in rebellion [like that] of Korah!

These are hidden reefs (elements of danger) in your love feasts, where they boldly feast sumptuously [carousing together in your midst], without scruples providing for themselves [alone].

They are clouds without water, swept along by the winds; trees, without fruit at the late autumn gathering time—twice (doubly) dead, [lifeless and] plucked up by the roots;

Wild waves of the sea, flinging up the foam of their own shame and disgrace; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of eternal darkness has been reserved forever.

It was of these people, moreover, that Enoch in the seventh [generation] from Adam prophesied when he said, Behold, the Lord comes with His myriads of holy ones (ten thousands of His saints)

To execute judgment upon all and to convict all the impious (unholy ones) of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed [in such an] ungodly [way], and of all the severe (abusive, jarring) things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.

These are inveterate murmurers (grumblers) who complain [of their lot in life], going after their own desires [controlled by their passions]; their talk is boastful and arrogant, [and they claim to] admire men’s persons and pay people flattering compliments to gain advantage.

But you must remember, beloved, the predictions which were made by the apostles (the special messengers) of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

They told you beforehand, In the last days (in the end time) there will be scoffers [who seek to gratify their own unholy desires], following after their own ungodly passions.

It is these who are [agitators] setting up distinctions and causing divisions—merely sensual [creatures, carnal, worldly-minded people], devoid of the [Holy] Spirit and destitute of any higher spiritual life.

Jude 1:5-20

does this speak of any one here?
