Miracletwinee: you dont use foreign document to process nigeria passport, if you state that child was born abroad, you will need to present the american birth certificate for sighting and confirmation, will an american child born in nigeria process or get american passport with nigerian birth certificate? i guess you kw the answer, besides why will you say that NPC is only meant for children born in nigeria, NPC is responsible for registration of birth and death of nigeria citizens..@the bolded why will you need american passport to get nigeria passport? besides the items you mentioned are not all you need for LO naija passport as you claim.. |

desoul: Every mallam with his own kettle. I've said my own. I got Nigerian passports for my children and was never asked for a Nigerian birth certificate maybe some people that have gotten one for their LO can share their own experiences and tell if they were asked to present a Nigerian birth certificate or not. @justwise you will do well if you can please help us to confirm who is entitle to a Nigerian birth certificate and who is not. 2 Likes |

borryworld: You have decided on what you want to do but don't misinform people. It is not necessary. When I did naija passport for my child I was not asked for NPC. They used her US BC and registered her under foreign birth. That is all 10 Likes |

nefertitiram:Just because you disagree doesn't make another person's opinion a misinformation. I never pass an information with my comment rather I was taking one. You said you got an int'l passport without NPC BC, fine. Desoul said he got one with correct information, fine. I am going with desoul on this one and that is not information/misinformation. Please, we can disagree with ourselves opinion/position and not necessarily calling it a misinformation. *Modified* |

Who else has received a 221G refusal? Was the visa eventually granted? |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by nefertitiram: 5:16pm On May 26, 2017 |
borryworld: You have also misquoted me. I did not get Intl passport with NPC, intact we don't need one n I'm pretty sure desoul was misinformed that's why he got one. It is absolutely wrong to get a Nigerian birth certificate for a foreign born child. There is no need to sugar coat what is so glaringly wrong and pass it off as right because in Nigeria everything and anything goes. A child born to US parents in Nigerian cannot go to US and request a birth certificate. The best he can do is request for CRBA (which can be used in lieu of a US birth certificate to issue his US passport). I repeat HE CAN NEVER GET A US BIRTH CERTIFICATE. So also a child born to Nigerian parents will get registered with the Foreign Births Unit of Immigration department(FOR RECORDS PURPOSES) before a Nigerian passport is issued in Nigeria. Infact, getting a Nigerian birth certificate for a foreign born child is immigration fraud and SFU can take up the matter. Ignorance is not an excuse 9 Likes 1 Share |

sugah: It depends on the circumstances. Did you get it after Dropbox or after interview? What section was marked? Was it Lagos or Abuja If it was after Dropbox then I guess you will need to schedule an interview and go and defend yourself. |

desoul:Talking about Parents Passport Data Page,What if LO was only registered by my wife without the husband name in the LO birth certificate? Can her Passport alone do it? |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Austine2020: 8:34pm On May 26, 2017 |
nefertitiram:I guess u are correct, because u can only have one birth certificate and it should be in the country where u were born,.Then they can duplicate it for u whenever u want more. My son was born in Holland(Amsterdam) and when i did Nig passport for him, they never ask me to produce his Nig birth certificate,.Rather they used his Holland birth certificate to issue him his Nig Passport. Even before i processed his Holland passport,My wife always use his Holland Birth certificate to apply for his visa and no Embassy has ever ask for his Nig BC before issuing him visa. 1 Like |

Hello Everyone. Its been a while, trust everyone is doing ok. Regarding the VOA process. I didn't pay for the immigration letter (it may be due to the fact that I'm Military). I went to the immigration office at MMIA and after a while I got someone there who got the letter for me which I sent to DW. Also we didn't pay $200 for any VOA. We dropped LO US passport with the immigration office at the airport and then went to process her Nigerian Passport, when that was ready, we took it to the Immigration office so they could sight it and then collected LO's US passport back. I don't know If this was the conventional way of doing this but that was the approach I adopted to save cost. Hope this helps someone out there. justwise: 1 Like |
