When you get bad grades, work on your weaknesses and move on. Why most people remain stagnant in life is because more often than not, they keep dwelling on their failure. We've all failed in one thing or the other, no one is perfect. There's no need to continue crying over a spilled milk Ramadan Mubarak to the Muslim folks out here. 11 Likes |

Interview is usually less than 2 mins so keep your response simple... this might be a mouthful and the VO might think you sound textbookish than reality You made some good points here but usually interview is quick quick. Most likely the VO will cut u off and move on to another question.. Also if it too long , you might forget a line and become tensed 10 Likes 1 Share |

See greatest akokites fighting for his school cos they are best in Nigeria but far behind in the world. This is very TRUE and POSSIBLE. Just thank your star such didn't happen to you. Something like that still happen recently, a course was remove from a student course and that drop his cgpa. the guy in question had A in this course and was able to know after his master admission ask him to retake this course as a prerequisites and he checked his transcript and see the reason for the drop in CGPA. Just keep thanking your stars.... a lot is wrong with Naija not only aso rock.... I really don't wanna talk to much but ur defense tactics made me. #GBAM gaviria:
I find this very hard to believe. Except you graduated in like year 2000-2003 o. That kind of thing can't happen in Unilag. What happened to CITS that your department HOD would have his or her own software. Oh so there's even a software to use, meaning you probably graduated between 2008 and this year. And CITS was functional then, post ume was even computer based. So in Education an HOD used software to spoil your CGPA and you didn't go to DSA or Senate or even the CITS. You're a joker sir. Sell another story. They changed 2:2 to third class for you and you're telling us cool story here.lol. Don't spoil Unilag's reputation o biko. People would start thinking HODs can make their own software to calculate GPA for them. HODs don't even record anything, the lecturers submit the result to the department and the department takes the results to the senate for approval. Mistakes like that can only come from CITS and it can't be that bad or else it'll affect the whole department in which case it'll be resolved. So accept your Grade and don't blame Software sir. |

i am a she There is absolutely no reason for anyone here to assume you are male, not even from your moniker. I think most of the males here and in the larger Nigerian society do not consciously think that a Nigerian lady can be this intelligent, educated and assertive. So their default reaction is to assume it must be a guy.You have unkowningly conducted a social experiment with interesting results that reinforces the long held view that the Nigerian society is patriarchal and women are seen as lesser beings compared to their male counterparts. 10 Likes |

If only you'd be able to actually say this. If you're like me, you'll easily forget most of what you wrote up there. The VO just wants to know if you've put some thoughts into the school you're attending, and can say why it's unique to you. Remember this, and you'd be fine. |

Ogreene a lot of cases in Unilag only the lucky once should thank God. Or what will even explain a lower CGPA on your transcript to the one u have on your final year statement of result? Thank God the same record office gave this same SOR and Transcript. #CaseClose ... I really still don't want to talk. Am 89% sure none of this doubting thomas can still even match my CGPA..... Walahi! adey2014: God bless u. i did then and i went with my uncle in 2009 and i was assured it was going to be rectified my cpga dropped to 2.38/5.0 and that it will reflect in the convocation of 2008/2009 which will be done in jan 2010. i went for service just for me to call my friend to check the convocation list which bought out my name but no rectification was done. if only two of the four courses . che 101 (4 units) and che 102 (2 units) which i didnt register for or even sat for cause İ was direct entry was removed then i wud av entered 2.40. i still went back after my service and applied for pgd in education. i was not admitted and by that time, the dean of education (prof busari) who knew my case had died and by 2011 after going up and down. the new hod for science and tech edu siad she had never had of my case. i gave up at that point and thank God for my parents encouraged me to do another undergraduate. it was not as if i didnt fight. i just chased a better dream and thank God it turned out well. its just a pity people who dont know anything about unilag all come out here talking. the days of ibidapo obe when course form was by paper and results were in broadsheets. |

Bro, I empathize with you and I know how it feels. In my final year in the University, a course i had a B was turned to a C. How do i know i had a B you may ask? The course was a 300 level course and the result was on my portal and i printed it out. With this printed copy i had an evidence which i use to complain to the department severally. To cut the long story short, guess what i was told? I was told i already had a first class degree why should i still bother over a grade that was changed and it makes little difference in my CGPA. Moreover, from my transcript i never had a C, so at least it shows the department is very strict with marks. Do you know the difference of 0.01 costs me from being the Best Graduating student in the school? The Best graduating student's CGPA was higher than mine with 0.01.
This is just to give an insight on what is happening in our institutions. All said, i was asked to do my MSc in that same school, me? Only if they know the resentment i hold against them.
Bro, never give up, you don't have to prove anything to anyone and with God by your side your best is yet to come.
Grades alone cannot define your future but Grace can. Do your best, this American Dream must be achieved.
Sorry for the long epistle, I've never said all these to anyone. Its those doubting Thomas that caused this..... #Respect Grades don't but Grade do! |
