How does your mind really work?

What do you think Osinbajo should do? immediately itshekiri came knocking he should put a call to Ijaw people to come?

Are you aware some people far younger than you had been a
head of state and federal Ministers in this country before?

It is true that reasoning is not about the age!

Ayiri politicallly is all talk no action. He couldn't even deliver the last Warri South by election to APC
High time you know that the era where people delivered their constituencies was when malpractices were widespread.

If the bulk of the people in his constituency are sufficiently. enlightened, is there any way he can. force his party on them, in a fairly conducted election?
These guys and their type, is grossly overrated.

Nonetheless, the government just has to patronize some folks in other to reach their people.

SHUT UP.... the costume is not entirely from Benin. Agreed, this very beaded crown has benin roots, but the clothing of the king is entirely Portuguese. Right from the reign of Sebastiao Dom Domingos, the first ever European educated PRince to become King in Africa, the Warri monarch has been wearing that silver crown, a gift from King Joao of Portugal to the itsekiri prince who was crowned Ogiame Atuwatse I in 1625

FYI, Prince Ginuwa was hated by the Benin palace chiefs, and his father Oba Olua, was worried that after his passing, Ginuwa would be murdered by his chiefs, so while he was still alive, he coordinated his (Ginuwa's) soft banishment to a coastal area where he can live the rest of his live in peace. He sent with him some slaves to help him settle when he gets to his final destination. When he arrived at the Itsekiri enclave, he was welcomed warmly, and they saw princely things with him, so they concluded he must be a king coming from the sea... since they didn't know his origin... hence the title the Olu of Warri bears today.. Ogie-Ame, meaning King of the Sea... corrupted to Ogiame

Also, before some Afonja starts claiming he is Yoruba, the name Olu, is a corrupted version of Olua. Olua was Prince Ginuwa's father.. so the title represented as Olua of Warri, which over time was corrupted to Olu.

So get the facts rights and stop distorting history here. I have benin roots, but Oba Olua did not sent his son to rule over anyone. He sent him to find safety. And because Ginuwa's was destined to be king, providence made the Itsekiris, crown him as king...they were charmed by his princely attributes and they made him king, he didn't ask for it.

This is why in Benin there is an adage that, "the head that is destined to be crowned cannot be stopped by any evil force"

Let me address the one I have knowledge of among your ranting, Afonja may claim but Yorubas don't claim, rather people trace their origin to Yorubaland even as far as tongeji (which doesn't sound Yoruba) Island in Ogun state claim descent from Oduduwa the progenitor of the Yorubas.. Your attempt to bring imaginary fence between the Yorubas and the Itsekiris is an exercise in futility so many Kings in Yorubaland Use Olu as title even the names is another pointer to a link between them for instance, Omawumi and Omowumi, Mayowa and Moyowa, Temidayo and Temidoyo among others. Like I said, Yorubas don't claim people they are sophisticated in all ramifications of life. Ajisebi Oyo laari, Oyo o sebi baba eni kankan

Monarchs rule over a place
Thats why we have
1. Oba of Lagos (not Oba of Yoruba)
2. Ovie of Ughelli ( not Ovie of Urhobo)

Befre the Ginuwa party arrived in present day Ode-Itsekiri, there were existing Yoruba Aborigine communities/fishing settlements already in existence way way back but there was no central authority in form of a monarch.

That is why the Itsekiri/Yoruba language are very close and intelligible. So Itsekiri's are more like and hybrid tribe

Mixture of Yoruba Language and Benin/Portuguese etc culture

not when that territory is been shared by different tribes. I have no problem with the olu of warri title, but warri is a sensitive place, and as such everybody should play neutral.

God bless the olu of warri. grin

Yes i agree with u. But the Itsekiri own version of Warri goes beyond one city it is more of three LGAs and satelite communities. U can also see history of how the name "Warri" came into place

Thank u

If you ask me the Ijaws are the very problem
Of Niger Delta, they are just too sentimental and violent, their man was in power for 6yrs,
he neglected other tribes in the Niger, he focused only on the Ijaws, he even went ahead to empowering Tompolo above the Nigeria Navy. Today his governor Dickson has just lamented that his tenure as the President was a waste to the Ijaws.

Things should be done in the right perspective. You drove all companies away you still want PYO to dialogue with you!!

Conjectures and fallacies. We are talking of the itsekiri crown, not the dialect.I am not disputing that there are linguistic similarities between itsekiri and Yoruba. I am only talking about the ITSEKIRI CROWN, KING, THE ATTIRE AND ALL that..so know what you are arguing about before u start arguing blindly
