People have to read this.

http://www.gamji.com/article4000/news4657.htm

The Eastern regional government was so so oppressive, At least in the West before breakup, the Western minorities even had voice.

We all know what is playing out here. Whenever these Igbos feel they are in a situation whereby they can't compete nationally with the Yorubas and hausas they turn around and look towards their own version of mini Nigeria aka "Biafra" where they can lord over the minorities over there with no one to challenge them . It is what has been playing out again since they lost the election in 2015 and felt their national interests have once again taken the back seat behind that of the Hausas and Yorubas.

Now they are playing the role of "Liberator" of the oppressed when they themselves are supper oppressing parasites. ..lol, I no fit laff.

If Delta and Edo States were in the Eastern Region, we may never have gotten the Mid-Western State that we got. When we requested for it, the Yorubas did not pick an offence. They understood and tried to reason with us. They understood where we were coming from and we were granted our wishes. Igbos may never have allowed that to happen had we been in their region.

No, I mean the one owned by Mazi Vayne Anuofia of Okija community. You think only Hausas own oil wells in Nigeria? You speak as if Igbos are not part of the Niger Delta exploitation. Don't act all sanctimonious. Nnamdi Azikiwe signed the documents that granted Nigeria independence and kept the nation one together with Obafemi Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello.

Mention one Igbo man that owns an oil well.?

You see how ignorant you are

Igbos part of what exploitation.

Urhobos oil wells are controlled by Hausa Fulani people because they see Urhobos as slaves

Awolowo understood very well why the Deltans and Edos wanted to go.
Nobody wants to live through marginalization either real or perceived.

The only problem he had was that while efforts were being made by the North in connivance with the east to excise the midwest from the west, and in the process, reduce the AG's zone of influence, deaf heard were paid to the similar agitations by the middle Belt Peoples and the Cross River-Ogoja-Rivers people in the north and East respectively.
Mind you, the C.O.R agitation for autonomy began even before that of the Midwest.. deep rooted in the pre-independence era of the country.

besides, left to Igbos, Niger delta land is their natural territory yet to be "conquered". They see it as their natural zone of influence, that Yorubas and Hausas are not letting them control.

The main reason why Mid-Westerners sought separation was that Ibadan was too far. It was not pragmatic to travel to Ibadan all the time in order to align with the government. That was why we wanted Benin as the capital so that government can be close to the people.

Secondly, minorities would always want to be free of majorities, whether or not they treated us well. We wanted our cultural heritage to be preserved. For the fact the Yorubas allowed us to go our way shows that they meant well for us.

Owners of the biggest oil bloks in Nigeria

(13) OPL 289 and OPL 233 was awarded during Obasanjo era to Peter Odili fronts, Cleanwater Consortium, consisting of Clenwater Refinery and RivGas Petroleum and Gas Company. Odili’s brother in law, Okey Ezenwa manages the consortium as Vice Chairman.

(14) OPL 286 is managed by Focus Energy in partnership with BG Group, a British oil concern. Andy Uba has stakes in Focus Energy and his modus operandi is such that you can never see his name in any listings yet he controls OPL and OML through proxies

(15)OPL 291 was awarded to Starcrest Energy Nigeria Limited, owned by Emeka Offor . Immediately after the award, Starcrest sold the oil block to Addax Petroleum Development Company Limited (ADDAX) Addax paid Sir Emeka Offor a farming fee of $35million dollars and still paid the signature bonus to the government. Emeka Offor still retains stake in ADDAX operations in Nigeria.
