Eni Njoku and Kennth Dike were made the VC's of University of Lagos and University of Ibadan not because they merited the position. Their appointment was based on nepotism and ethnic favoritism as instigated by Nnamdi Azikiwe who was the president. Professor Saburi Biobaku was meant to be the VC of Unilag instead of Eni Njoku.

1. How could Okpara have hosted Ifeajuna when he was in detention in Enugu and how could he have helped him escape? According to Ademoyega (one of the coupists) Ifeajuna fled to Lagos after running to Enugu to meet up with Don Okafor and Chris Okigbo who drove him to Seme border

2. If you have your facts on the coup you will know that the coup plotters at NO time intended or even had the manpower to arrest every member of the 1st republic. Please give more details on the officers you said went to Jaja Wachuku's just to "inform" him that he wasnt a target

3. How many yoruba politicians were killed by the coupists? Why was Akintola killed and Fani Kayode spared? For purpose of clarity, Zik was not deputy prime minister, he was ceremonial president. Moreover he was not in the country so how did the coupists "spare" him?

4. You claim that all igbo ministers knew about the coup before and that some resigned. Please who were the ones that resigned 24hrs before the coup?

Before then, Nnamdi Azikiwe was the first and only Nigerian to be the Governor General of the country. By virtue of his position, he was the Head of State of Nigeria representing the Queen. Azikiwe used his position to promote ibo greed and nepotism.

The position of Governor General and President under the 1960 and 1963 constitutions were the same except for the title. I checked the constitution and it does not grant any power to President to appoint VCs of Universities arbitrarily as you are alleging.
