Offers Pouring In For Arsenal Target Henry As Swansea, Brighton Join Race

Eupen standout player Henry Onyekuru continues to attract interest from English Premier League clubs.

The Daily Mail claims Swansea and Brighton & Hove are the latest Premier League clubs being linked with a swoop for the Super Eagles invitee, who is valued at 6.8 million pounds.

The 19-year-old has also received plenty of offers from German, French, Spanish and Italian teams as he prepares to bid farewell to Eupen in the summer transfer window.

Apart from the interest from the United Kingdom, Onyekuru and his advisers are studying offers from Red Bull Leipzig, Schalke, Borussia Dortmund, Monchengladbach, Lyon, Lille, Monaco, Nice, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Fiorentina and Roma.

Onyekuru is in line to make his second Nigeria appearance when their national team face Togo in a friendly in Paris on Thursday, June 1.

He found the net 25 times for Eupen in the recently concluded season.

and before you understand he is off to europe
these are players that suppose to reprensent us well in caf champions league
I just pray he shouldn't be in a hurry going to Europe....that may jeopardize his world cup chances or otherwise.
he should take his time..

Onyekuru is a fantastic talent... he did have his moments against Corsica but crucially, he also made a few bad decisions in the first half..... hopes he make amends against Togo and stamps his authority in The Eagles like Alhassan MuaZam is already doing.

Of the 8 debutants, Awaziem and Alhassan have impressed the most so far.

maidaboi:
yea onyekuru need to do more to make us that hype him happy

Bia Onyekuru @bolded..... I have to call you to order here. Once or Twice, Iheanacho was free for a pass and you instead chose to shoot and spoilt the chances... one of them was a clear strike on goal but you still fluffed... And how you go see the options ahead when you no wan raise your head on time naa?? Abeg... you try but you were not just "it" against Corsica... hopefully you make amends against Togo.... Chikena!

Why Red Hot Onyekuru Failed To Shine, Score For Nigeria Against Corsica

The highly anticipated Nigeria senior national team debut for hot in demand KAS Eupen forward Henry Onyekuru happened against Corsica, but didn’t quite provided the spark many expected.

Onyekuru was handed a start by coach Gernot Rohr in the game that ended 1-1, but the forward who lasted the entire duration of the game failed to justify the hype surrounding him after his 24 goals haul for Eupen.

19 year old Onyekuru wasted a clear chance to draw Nigeria level minutes after they went behind, but he fluffed his lines and missed what looked like a certain goal for Nigeria.

After the miss, he thrice gave away possession cheaply and although he improved in the second half, he wasn’t such a goal threat to the opponent as many would have expected form the Arsenal target.

” I think the goal he missed affected his game negatively. He should have scored but stuffs like that happens, but after the incident he wasn’t keen of taking risk anymore and threaded cautiously “, a teammate told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” After the game he confessed to me that the loss (lost chance) affeected his confidence level, and when he went over it he didn’t have any real chance at goal. He also complained of the lack of options in front of him when on the ball”.

Does owngoalnigeria hate Henry? Why all this campaign to rubbish him? How many chances did he miss? How many did others miss? Let them stop this already. Cut him some slack.

Ex-Chelsea Star Mikel Gives Another Positive Update On Recovery But Time Is Running Out .....

Super Eagles skipper John Obi Mikel has given another positive update on his recovery after going under the knife a month ago in the United Kingdom.

Time is running out for the former Chelsea star to be in tiptop condition before Nigeria's African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa on June 10, with manager Gernot Rohr expected to announce his roster before the end of this week.

It is thought that Mikel will only return to the pitch in mid-June when Tianjin Teda face Beijing Guoan, a week after the Super Eagles first competitive game of 2017 in Uyo.

Mikel posted on Instagram and included a video clip of him working out in the gym : ''No days off #recovery #TEDA #SuperEagles.''

The 'real deal' might not figure for the Super Eagles until the World Cup qualifier against Cameroon in August, but Rohr can count on the services of Porto midfielder Mikel, who impressed in the practice game against Corsica.

But they have been the ones giving him the most coverage.....

Why will they wanna rubbish him all of a sudden...?

Truth is Henry missed the closest/easiest chance... after that he didn't get any real sight of goal again. He picked up nicely in the second half even... I saw some of that myself.

Their report may seem harsh but I don't think they wanna rubbish the lad.

Victor Moses Officially Marries Mother Of His Two Kids, Less Than 24 Hours After FA Cup Loss

Chelsea high flying wingback Victor Moses has officially tied the knot with the mother of his children less than 24 hours after he was sent off in Chelsea’s 1-2 loss to Arsenal in the FA Cup final.

Moses earlier today got married to Josephine, the lady who happens to be the mother of his two kids Bentley and Nyah in London, Owngoalnigeria.com gathered.

Videos of his wedding was also shared by a London based Super Eagles fan, who has close links with the Chelsea star after hooking up with him in the national team during the days of coach Samson Siasia.

He is expected to join the national team of Nigeria next month when they converge in Abuja for the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa in Uyo, after coach Gernot Rohr excused him from their training camp in France.

The inability to watch the full match is the real problem. I remember the numerous misleading reports following the Nigeria-Senegal friendly match. It was after the release of the entire match video that we got to the know about the biasness of the reports.

Prejudice is human nature.

True talk Boss..... True Talk....

I recall I was the first to share the full video link to the Nigeria-Senegal game when the NFF/Super Eagles twitter handles released it via vimeo.... and even after enough people saw the full game, views were still not one.... differing views were still all over the place....

Like you've rightly pointed out, prejudice is indeed human nature, generally speaking.... people will always see what they have made up their mind to wanna see...

But I have learnt to dissociate myself long ago from such prejudice in all areas of my Living especially as regards National team football analyses..... If we go by tribal prejudice, you may not believe the state I hail from in Nigeria if I tell you..... loolll

Anyway, no one here really saw the full game... as for me, I only saw some good part of it thru some link shared here and also thru some other link when second half began... It is sad we cannot get our hands for now on the full video of the game. Hopefully the NFF shares it in their handle or the Super Eagles handle on twitter.

The video Highlights shared via FranceCorsica on Facebook also helped me see a few parts I missed... but the story is still not fully told.

So I get you.... Michael James and co of Owngoalnigeria may just be a little prejudiced in their reports... it is possible.

Really hope the full video can be released... and believe me if I see it... I will surely share it like I did for the Senegal game.

Orji Okonkwo Dazzles For Bologna Against Juventus, Eyes Super Eagles Shirt

Nigeria youth international Orji Okonkwo created the opening goal for Bologna in their 1-2 loss to Italian Serie A Champions Juventus yesterday.

The Flying Eagles ace laid a pass for Saphir Taider to blast home a thunderous effort from outside the box in the 52nd minutes to open scoring in the game. He however ended on the losing side.

Okonkwo lasted the entire duration of the game, a sign of how high coach Roberto Donadoni rates the 19 year old who only joined the team in the summer following a string of fine performances for the Nigeria U-17 and 20.

His fine display was however blotted after he picked up a booking for a foul on Kwadwo Asamoah eight minutes from full time, and he was lucky not to have been given his marching orders when he tripped Mario Mandzukic six minutes after his initial foul.

Speaking to owngoalnigeria.com, the power playing forward who is nicknamed “big striker” by his teammates in the Nigeria youth team said he is eyeing a better season next year to force himself into the plans of the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr.

” It has been a nice season for me, I have to thank God for how I settled down in Italy. Hopefully I will go a step forward next season and push my way into the senior national team of Nigeria for the World Cup 2018″, he said.
