I used avent too and they are still in excellent condition including the teats and covers.

Take good care of them by washing them with a different sponge (do not use the same sponge for washing dishes to wash your baby's bottles) and sterilise them with hot water. Personally I'm not a fan of tablet or liquid sterilising fluid. I use electric steam steriliser.

Thank you. Just being curious. The bottles are still very clean and I do sterilize them every day too. Thank you

Thanks and welcome back.
Please how early do they mean when they ask you to come very early, 6am? grin

Thanks everyone for the replies, I'd just wait until the upper Tuesday then.

It actually depends on your area. I stay in PH and in my area, I leave the house before 7am if I intend to be among the first 10people cos you pick a number to be attended to as you come. There is always a huge crowd so the earlier the better or else you end up spending the whole day there.

Going early is for your own good since its a general hospital, so as to be the first set they will attend to. Speaking from experience.

Please mama in the house, I have a question that has been bothering me for a while.
How long should someone dispose a baby bottle to buy another one whether bpa free or not?

You don't need to change the bottle if the measurements are still showing. You can change the teat if it's discolored or torn.

Why u come dey vex? I will flog u oo tongue

We are 6 months today..... Yaaaay!!

So last night I gave her pureed avocado....u need to see her facial expression when she took the 1st 3 spoons. Epic!!!

But after like 6 - 7 spoons, she started smiling and rushing it.... Lol

Pls o, when making cereals must I follow the preparation as stated on the tin. My DD doesn't eat so much at once, she'll rather eat lil bits at regular interval than a whole meal at once.
Do I just use my discretion?

Happy Sunday mama's!

Use ratios when preparing food. Example if you are supposed to make 2spoons cereal to 1spoon milk, reduce it to 1spoon cereal and half spoon milk

Alaba or westminster (if you are in Lagos)

As for bottles turning pink... your washing & sterilizing game needs to be on point.... Read resources online to clear any doubt.

Good morning mamas. Abeg when do I start to worry with immunization fever? Usually my baby's mood picks up by the next morning although his body is still warm till the next evening. This one pass me. His temp is now 38.5 and he's still cranky and clingy. Been doing sponge baths with lukewarm water and paracetamol but I checked now and 38.5 fear me. To chill or go to the hospital?

Any temp above 37.5 for a baby is high. I would advice you take him to the hospital

Safeguard soap for a baby? Hmmm
Coconut oil is fine.

As for baby soap, there are several
Nycil, cussons, Johnson's, boots, agnesia, tetmosol and several others
I started with Nycil but when it got scarce, I switched to cussons which my baby reacted badly too (note, it does not affect all babies o), presently I use Johnson's, but not the regular one they sell in the market, the one I got comes in a pink pack and is more expensive.
What I'll advice, whichever one you decide to buy, don't buy much, but few and see how your baby reacts to it.

As for powder, agnesia powder works wonders when it comes to baby rash

You can use washcloth with tiny toothpaste. Macleans milk teeth or Aquafresh milk teeth toothpaste is OK.

you can make it yourself. i make mine myself. 1cup yellow corn
1 cup guinea corn
1 cup soyabean
1 cup millet
1/4 cup groundnut (optional)
fry everything separately until it turns brown, b4 it begins to pop.
pound the soybeans gradually in a mortar to remove chaff, then blow the chaff away.
use a power blender to blend it all together, or take it to the market to blend ( but make sure the commercial blending machine is cleaned by blending out crayfish dry.
PS: blend dry. no adding water
and gbam thats your tombrown powder.

Pls how do i remove the chaff of the millet?

Thank you all for your reccommendations. It is well appreciated, I also wondered when I saw safeguard cos they insisted nothing must change from their list. Of which safeguard is kind of harsh when I read through the ingredients. Will do the cusson. Thank you all!
