i can't even rate him anymore cos all the right numbers weren't listed properly

There should be numbers for below failure far from success expectation.

He has really exceeded expectation on the following
i. raising zombies
ii. lies and propaganda
iii. visiting London too
iv. giving us the best joke on earth - the other room

I was discussing with my elder brother on politics and he was supporting PMB. So I asked who caused the recession? He tried to exonerate Buhari and answered saying that Jonathan caused it. So I asked him, "who caused the recession in 1984? Was it Jonathan?" He kept mute.

If not that he is my elder brother, I would've beat him for saying that GEJ caused the recession.

Is it a coincidence that PMB is only synonymous with recession, inflation, poverty, widespread hardship, etc? Even top Economists have ascertained that all these were caused by the harsh economic policies implemented by Buhari yet somebody is still blaming Jonathan.

Much as I rate the Buhari regime a monumental failure, let us be clear that Buhari did not cause the 1984 recession. In fact there was no '1984 recession'. It is more aptly termed '1981/91 recession'. It started with Shagari's mismanagement through Buhari and Babangida's regimes, lasted over a decade and eased up a bit with the high oil prices of the First Gulf War.

The Nigerian economy began tanking in late 1981

When Buhari and Idiagbon took over, the economy was already collapsing. It was Shagari who first announced a state of austerity in the nation not Buhari. One of the reasons why the army took over was the mismanagement of the economy and its downward spiral under the NPN.

yes he failed back to back, wish failure was a trophy, one can imagine the amount of medals at bubu's disposal now.....

You're wrong
Failed is a past tense that can only be used for GEJ.

Buhari still has 2 years... So far he is failing... Let's hope he won't fail, cos we'll all suffer it

By their names we know who they are ...The ever wailing , ever marginalized, ever angry lot

May disasters and tribulations befall anyone of them who has benefitted one way or the other from this governments

Either through improved power

Or constant supply of Petrol at fixed price

or through Npower

Or through better roads

Anyone who spites buhari and has benefited from any of these few things i listed shall suffer agony and die a terrible death

In Jesus name , In Allah's name, in the name of Buhdda , in the name of all the spirit entities around the world and in heavens

He would have gained some scores in the fight against insurgency but he brought in fulani herdsmen issue to replace BOkk Haram.
His fight against corruption without conviction made his corruption fight a mere TV drama / distraction gimmick on Nigerians.
In other areas, his administration is higly clueless and confused.

I rate him 0%....I would have given 15% for his fairly better fight against the boko-haram menace, but even that "achievement"has been eroded by the Fulani-herdsmen/killers.....he has failed, really failed

I wonder why he retains
cabinet members that are
useless & totally nonperforming.

Agriculture, Sports, Education,
Internal Affairs, Petroleum,
CG of Customs, the lists goes on & on.

He has made no positive impact,
on anyone or sector, only
negative impacts.

His govt puts all the blame on
"Recession", while the culprit is
bad economic & political policies.

Come 2019, no vote for APC or
PDP..... angry

Pmb's failure is in a class of its own... Even the devil marvels at it. His name seems to be synonymous with bad luck else how would you explain the relationship between 1984 and this current administration?

Hello, I don't used to comment on nairaland for personal reasons but your Brother was very smart not to respond cos he knew the end of the convo. You see Buhari was a willing tool being used in different period of time for similar reasons (when looters have sucked us dry) and his integrity is a selling point at those periods for power brokers. For your information they stacked up looted funds in foreign currency because they thought he will change the naira as he did in 1984 to frustrate looters. PMB need us to ensure foundation is laid for future generations

I'm sure both you and your brother are mediocre, and the alacrity at which he was shut down by your ill fated arguments shows that.

At first neither both PMB nor GEJ caused it, we're in recession because of our over dependence on oil, and when global oil price dropped, during Buhari regime, we we're unable to cope because GEJ left little or nothing in our Foreign reserve.

Saudi arabia enters recession with over 300 billion dollars in foreign reserve, and were however able to maintain it's economy.

What is Buhari fault in this his fault is fighting corruption that has already been engulfed by GEJ administration, Stealing is not corruption crooner , I'm sure he should be awarded for that statement.

It's either we take it or leave it, we're in the situation we are now, because we've not been saving when oil was selling above 140 dollars per barrel, your so called GeJ was busy drinking in Aso rock while the likes of dasuki were looting our reserves.

Buhari is on the right track but at the wrong time, our economy needs to be diversified. most advanced countries has their economy diversified into many sectors like Agriculture, production etc.

take a cue from india, Malaysia and Singapore, Thailand etc...... We cannot just face oil alone, what has happened to the pyramid of groundnut in kano, Cotton of zaria and Ginger of Southern kaduna, cocoa of south west, oil palms etc...
wee you keep kwayet!

All this Ipod shouting Buhari is a failure.
Your 15% votes from south-east come 2019 will not change anything.
The north and south-west votes will still give Buhari the presidency till 2023.
It's better you guys join the moving train like some off your leaders (Kalu,Ken,Chime etc) or don't come here and shout maginalization after 2019.
Monkey no go work then baboo come chop.

As long as the presidency rotates between North and South west, I'm fine

Igbos are too sentimental to rule a country as complex as Nigeria.. Their "I and my people before others" mentality is so poor.
Let them keep watching and criticizing as long as they pay their tax to the Nigerian govt. all will be fine

You are the first person to claim buhari isn't responsible for recession in 1984. Well am sorry to burst your bubble. He was. Just as he has bad economic policies now. He did then. Changing currency. Allocation system of FX. Counter trade. And a whole lot. The guy doesn't have it. (leadership skills). Am sorry but even Abacha was far better as a manager of the economy than buhari
