Nowenuse: Lol man, Kenya's 47 counties have experienced 60% internet penetration during the current government making it a necessary tool for doing business and an initiative to business ventures. Leading internet providers have laid down infrastructure in homes and areas where internet connection was unthinkable. Kenya has achieved a confluence of IT infrastructure provisions that have positioned it to the highest growth level in internet take-up compared to income per capita in Africa. It has effectively become an outlier in its internet take-up, and seen Nairobi join Johannesburg as one of Africa’s two regional internet hubs. Dont ask us why Egypt and the likes havent grown as much, We are Kenyans and we know exactly what we been doing. Our internet is also the fastest in Africa and 21 st fastest in the world, just slightly behind the US and UK 2 Likes

Nowenuse: My what! But my link here does not comtain those percentages https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_number_of_Internet_users But various reputable sources state that Kenya has the highest percentage of internet users on tge continent, bbut Nigeria with the biggest numbers of users.....u know why http://venturesafrica.com/nigeria-most-internet-subscribers-africa/ And tthat Kenya has the fastest internet speed in Africa.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4506726/Video-game-developer-posted-files-slow-internet.html Better than even Australia! Anyway...mine was only to debunk that outrageous claim by one Mercelo290 that Kenyans are " uncivilized", living in jungles and with no internet access. I honestly dont think that even in those countries with tge lowest internet access, tge pipo are uncivilized. That cannot be. |

NairobiWalker: Channels Television has been declared the Best Television Station in Africa. This was at the 2014 African Achievers Award, which took place in Accra the capital of Ghana. Individuals and corporate organisations were recognized for their efforts in impacting positively on the African continent through creative enterprise, business, governance and entrepreneurship. The event, which held at the presidential banquet hall, State House, Accra, Ghana had several notable personalities from different countries of the continent in attendance, including government officials from Nigeria. Quite frankly, I dont think they deserve it. Why? they are only focused on one section...news only. what about sports, as in live matches like AIT does,..musicals, films and other entertainment that order station show. I think they should be " The best TV station in news relays in Africa" This award might not be fair entirely on other balanced stations that show varieties of programs and not just focus on new only. Channels Television has not only taken the lead in Nigeria, but Mr John Momoh and his crew again come under the spotlight for excellence in the broadcast profession. The Chairman of Channels Television, Mr John Momoh, in his acceptance speech, thanked the organisers of the awards for the honour; he also thanked the management and staff of his organisation for buying into his vision for the station. |

genieluv:Yes to the first. Well, strictly speaking, English had so many variants in its infancy, that it had to wait very long for standardization in both grammar and spelling. Centuries. But the common tongue still amongst the people of the British isles. Did you know there is something called Scots English? Spoken in Scotland, with that sweet accent. That aside, there are still many variants of English e. g international English, American English, Australian English, Indian English etc etc but they have STANDARDIZATION BODIES. kiswahili had its origins as a tongue called kiNgozi. Some natives still call it so. It also had many regional variations, just like German or Yoruba . It was still mutually intelligible to its speakers. It wasn't until 1849 that the standardization began. And just like German, a common standard was established, based mostly on the Zanzibar dialect. Upon independence, both Kenya and Tanzania set up bodies to regulate the language and thus the language stopped being ambiguous but became a full fledged and independent language. That is the difference between a language and a pidgin. A standardized and official form, with a regulator. Even Chinese has various forms. Does pidgin have standardization and a regulator? |

TayserMahiri: Hating will not help you. By the end of 2013, the film industry reportedly hit a record breaking revenue of ₦1.72 trillion (US$11 billion). As of 2014, the industry was worth ₦853.9 billion ( US$ 5.1 billion) [42][43] making it the third most valuable film industry in the world, behind the United States and India . It contributed about 1.4% to Nigeria's economy; [42] this was attributed to the increase in the number of quality films produced and more formal distribution methods. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Nigerian_Cinema |

bantudra:Ethiopia military was the strongest before the fall of Derg. No one can compete with it then. Now, we are the 3rd strongest in Africa after Egypt and Algeria . Those 2 countries and even the likes of Nigeria and Kenya military budget is above $2 billion, but ours is only $350 million. It's called efficiency. Our great military experiences exceed us from others. 1 Like |
