I would not have said Kelechi is better this season o. Mbappe has played more and has clearly set the French league and CL on fire. He's gotten more opportunities and has taken his chances. He's been the best teenager in the world this season. Mark this, he would be on the shortlist for the FIFA player of the year. Shows how much he has performed this season.

I believe Kelechi would have continued his progression if Pellegrini had stayed and then it would have provided a more level field to compare him with Mbappe. And even right now, I'm fearful of what might happen to him at West Ham. Pep has stunted his plays. I don't trust Bilic. What's his antecedents in developing young players?

In Nacho's first season, how many minutes did he get? How regular was his run of games? Did he play 7 straight matches non-stop as a starter for instance??

Add that to this season... and you will still have closely similar number of minutes or maybe less to what Mbappe got in just one season....

And Mbappe had falcao for company in most games... he paired a great upfront most of the time... ofcos he also did it in falcao's absence... but my point is he got a good run of games and started most games compared to Nacho... Mbappe has more starts in one season than Nacho has in two seasons....

And yes you guys are putting Nacho down... comments like Nacho can't touch Mbappe... Nacho is not even close to Mbappe are so bloody false and also demeaning...

Y'all doing your subtle best to downgrade Nacho's quality... but I am not buying it.. and neither are many reading this across Nigeria... cheesy

My Argument have spelt out everything... everything...

Mbappe is scoring for fun in a league of lesser competition... Nacho is doing same in the EPL.. the world's toughest league and most physically demanding and most intense of all... and with irregular run of games and with little game time too...

Clubs from around Europe seek his signature... Clubs within England seek his signature and Man City don't wanna sell to a top 7 rival... and by all means wanna insert a buy back clause....

Reports I got yesterday say West Ham demanded that the buy back clause be double what they buy Nacho for now... but Man City won't bulge.... they wanna beat down the buy-back price...

Iheanacho is top quality... mbappe is top quality... and Mbappe is not better... simple. Especially when you consider the ease that comes with scoring in a 1.5 league like Ligue 1 and the difficulty in scoring in a 2.0 like England.

Chrismario:

This is Mbappe's first season,
He's not the first choice at the beginning of the campaign,,, slotted in gradually.

I know,,, all you re trying so hard to do is to make it look as if we are pulling kc down..
You argument is plainly blind.

Manchester City playing hardball over Iheanacho buy-back clause in West Ham move
by Scott Johnson

West Ham seem intent on getting young Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho. But Manchester City are playing hardball over the youngster.

West Ham have made it their mission to sign a striker who actually scores goals this summer. It’s been a good few years since the Hammers have had anything bordering on a prolific striker, and they think they have their man in Kelechi Iheanacho.

However to get a player to join, you have to convince the other team to let them go. Most teams simply require money to let the player move on, but some times other clauses are inserted.

With young players there are often playing fees and goal bonuses, but in this case it seems that Manchester City are intent on putting in a buy-back clause for the man.

Transfer Hardball

Whilst it might delay the transfer for West Ham, this is a good sign. That Manchester City are trying to get this clause into the negotiations shows Iheanacho’s potential. It could also benefit the Hammers financially if they make sure that the price for the potential arranged buy-back is high and only applicable for the first year or 18 months.

A long term buy-back clause would be a mistake, because if we hold on to the striker for four or five years we want to make sure any departure that does occur will be on our terms, or not at all for that matter. If Iheanacho continues on his current trajectory he will be a top striker in his prime, and City are worried about losing out.

However if this is the term that is halting the deal, then that’s promising. These deals usually come into discussion later on in the negotiation and there’s a lot of hope that this is only a speedbump in the path that would see the Nigerian join the Hammers soon.

Super Eagles Coach Rohr Begins Monitoring Arsenal Starlet Iwobi

Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr will start monitoring Arsenal whizkid Alex Iwobi at close quarters on Tuesday, May 30, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.

The attacking midfielder and winger linked up with the Nigerian national team at their training camp in Paris on Monday.

Iwobi and his family friend Ola Aina had been permitted to join the squad much later than other invitees because of their clubs involvement in the Emirates FA Cup final.

Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho failed to keep his side of the bargain as he failed to turn up at the team's hotel Hyatt Regency, Paris last night, following his trip to England last weekend.

John Ogu, Isaac Success, Moses Simon, Noah Serenren-Bazee, Victor Osimhen and Ola Aina have not yet reported for international duty.

Exclusive: PSG To Scout Nigeria Stars Vs Togo...But Which Players Are They After?

Paris Saint-Germain have dispatched one of their trusted scouts to monitor the international friendly between Nigeria and Togo at the Stade Municipal de Saint Leu La Foret,
allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.

It has long been known that The Red-and-Blues were tracking a few Eagles stars in Kingsley Madu (Zulte Waregem) and Eddy Onazi (Trabzonspor), but the two young stars have not been invited to this particular get-together.

A top PSG insider has informed this website that the capital outfit will be taking a look at Gent's William Troost-Ekong, but has stressed that a transfer is not in the offing as they are only watching the central defender.

The French Ligue 1 powerhouse are also targeting Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho, with uncertainty surrounding his future at the Etihad Stadium, and he will be observed against The Sparrow Hawks.

Austin Okocha and Godwin Okpara are two famous Nigerian players that represented PSG in the past.

SIASIA WANTS IHEANACHO AND IWOBI TO QUIT THEIR CLUBS

Nigeria match winners in Zambia - Kelechi Iheanacho (left) and Alex Iwobi
by Graeme Jackson

Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho must leave Arsenal and Manchester City to have more playing time ahead of the 2018 World Cup, according to former Nigeria coach Samson Siasia.

The Young Super Eagles players have both struggled for regular game time in the Premier League this past season.

And Siasia wants to see them leave the big clubs and become regulars elsewhere to ensure they are fit and firing for Nigeria’s 2018 campaign.

“Nobody is happy that with the huge talents of Iheanacho and Iwobi they did not play many matches for Man City and Arsenal," Siasia told Sporting Life.

”We cannot also blame their managers Pep Guadiola and Arsene Wenger for leaving them most time on the bench because the players that played ahead of them are more experienced.

"This why I would like them to seek playing time elsewhere if necessary to be able to be hot and smoking for the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers."

West Ham face competition and challenges to sign Iheanacho
Posted by Sean Whetstone.

West Ham will face competition from Everton, Southampton, West Brom and Leicester City to sign Man City’s Iheanacho reports claim this morning.

The Hammers are reported to have made a £20m+ bid for the 20-year-old player but there are conflicting reports on how close the Irons are to actually signing the striker.

Manchester is said to want to include a buy-back clause at 50% of the purchase price meaning they could buy him back for £30m+ if he comes good.

The Hammers are said to be reluctant to agree to such a clause but if forced to they would want 100% profit to set the buy back fee at £40m+.

Another discussion point for the deal to go through is the player’s image rights. A report in Nigeria claims the agent is keen to agree on image rights as part of the deal but West Ham does not have images rights for any current Hammers squad player.

HMRC are cracking down on Image rights within the Premier League and West Ham wants no part of any questionable practice after the tax raid at the London Stadium last month.

I think what he meant was Iheanacho playing as a striker i.e top 9 for the super eagles if I'm not mistaken

When he comes around he might help clear the air
He said and I quote; @ the bolded portion below;

BascoVanVeli:

I don't think we will ever get what we expect from Nacho unless he is used as a SS. If I am not mistaken he has only scored penalties as a striker for Nigeria.

Though there is a disclaimer in that statement. However, I expect the Op in question to know more about Nacho's scoring instinct. That is why I was so surprised to read that piece from him.

Bundesliga and LA Liga are the Two best leagues when it comes to Technical quality and some more....

The EPL is second to them both... or lemme say Third overall.

Yeah money is a factor... but also these three leagues boasts of the highest volume of the truly top teams in Europe and in the world today...

From Real Madrid to Barcelona to Bayern Munich to Manchester Utd to Chelsea to Atletico Madrid to Sevilla to Manchester city to Borussia Dortmund to Liverpool to Borussia Mochen Gladbach to Tottenham to a few others.... big guns they are...

And they all interchange players among themselves sometimes... If I include Serie A, We will also have Juventus, Roma, Intermilan, Ac Milan, Lazio... top guns.

So that prestige and better competitiveness is also a huge factor.

The @bolded na suspect when "big guns' are concerned grin

The truth is, money is the factor for the Spanish, EPL and the Bundusliga big guns to rule Europe. Apart from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletico Madrid in Spain, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in Germany, Juventus, Inter Milan, Ac Milan and Roma(recently) in Italy, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Manchester City(recently), Monaco, PSG, Marseille and Lyon in France and Porto and Benfica which other top guns do you have in those leagues?

Once you are playing for one of those clubs in Europe, you are sure of winning the league and most of them are sure of winning the Champions League too save some like Porto, Benfica, Arsenal, Ac Milan, Lyon, Manchester City, Marseille and Inter Milan (watch out for this club in the next two seasons) who doesn't have the financial capability or the right talents to lead them to the promise land though they have the potentials. grin

Right now, the Lique 1 has caught up with these big guns with the financial capability and the right talents and that is why we saw two of their best team did very very very well in Europe against the so called top guns. grin

What I am saying is, PSG and Monaco are on the same level with Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona, Athletico Madrid, Real Madrid, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, PSG and Bayern Munich. A little bit above Manchester City and those not mentioned. grin

They are in the league of Champions and that is all that matters. grin

If you ask me to choose between the two now, I will not blink an eye to choose Mbappe over Iheanacho based on current form and what they bring to the table. grin

Yes, Mbappe is that good because I have seen him played and you can only make decisions based on what you see nau nau though we can't ignore the 'potentials'. O yes! We call potentials when a player is very good but that is where it ends if the 'potential player' is not or doesn't get the opportunity to express himself.

Solanke, Afobe, Rabiu Ibrahim etc are all potential players but it avails nothing if it's not translated on the field of play. Potential doesn't tantamount to being a world class player. You must prove it.

As it is, Iheanacho is not on the same level with Mbappe currently though he might be equally or even better than him.

A living dog is better than a dead lion. I hope una get my point. grin

Nigeria vs Togo
International Friendly game
Date: Thursday 1st June 2017
Kickoff: 17:30

Two African footballing giants Togo and Nigeria will play each other in a friendly game as they prepare for the 2019 African Cup of Nations coming up Next week.

Togo have been struggling for a long time now, the team are yet to win a game since November 2016. They have lost 4 out of the 7 games played during the process and drawn 3. Their losses have been against Morocco (twice), Dr Congo and Egypt. While they have drawn against Comoros, Ivory Coast and Libya.

The Togolese team are already out of the World Cup qualifiers, they failed to make it to the round 3 as they were beaten home and away by Uganda. This game will serve as a perfect warm up game for Togo as they prepare to play Algeria in the AFCON qualifiers.

Nigeria on the other hand are riding high, they are unbeaten since May 2016 winning 5 of their last 6 games. Their only draw was against Senegal in an International Friendly game, while they have won against Mali, Luxembourg, Tanzania, Zambia and Algeria........
