Rohr Drops Four Players, Ogu, Victor Moses, Omeruo,Akpeyi, Ideye & Onazi Return

As many as four players presently in the camp of the Super Eagles in France are set to be axed from the team when the list for the AFCON 2017 Qualifiers game against South Africa is released.

Owngoalnigeria.com sources reveal coach Gernot Rohr will drop the players after the game against Togo on the 1st of June, with their spot set to be taken by players excused from the training camp in France.

Presently 19 players are in the camp of the team but the number will be whittled down to 15 with six players or probably seven joining the team next month when preparations for the June 10 clash against South Africa hots up.

For now the players who are likely to be axed have not been released by the coach but six players are set to be recalled to the squad according to reports exclusively gathered by Owngoalnigeria.com correspondent.

Victor Moses, John Ogu, Ogenyi Onazi, Daniel Akpeyi , Kenneth Omeruo and Brown Ideye are all expected to be handed recall to the team, while Moses Simon is also heavily under consideration.

With what I hear about Agu's latest performances for SE, he is a reliable deep-lying playmaker.

Alampasu is definitely for the future and Onazi better watch out for Mikel Agu.

IMO Tanzania's keeper was on a world class level that day and I don't see any keeper doing better with that goal.
Henry went ooh la la for Mbappe but he was playing Luxembourg.

I have absolutely zero problem with who they are scoring against. My problem is simple, Mbappe scores against Ligue1 defenders, they are backwater defenders, Nacho scores against Tanzania(with a bunch of homegrown defenders) and theSuperNerd won't stop talking about it, isn't that hypocritical?

Hypocritical.... looolll... yet his two goals against Tanzania and Zambia fetched him precious awards... two CNN international goal of the week awards.... The media couldn't stop talking about the quality of those world class goals and you are here talking hypocritical.... indeed indeed... you shoot it all down with bias and talk up Mbappe only..... Hahahahahahahahaha.... go look up the word hypocritical.... looolll

Keep dribbling all you want.... cheesy

Just cease mentioning my moniker unnecessarily... it is becoming very discourteous on your part.

Yea. But I think it's because Rohr wanted to give a baptism of fire to the defensive line of: Ezenwa - Echiejile - Ekong - Awazien. To see what they can be able to handle against South Africa.

And by the way, did anyone noticed that the Echiejile led team has only 8 players compared to 9 players on the other side. Did the report miss somebody?

Former Super Eagles captain receives award
By: Ayodeji Tunde
Tue, May 30 , 2017 (05:37 PM) 392 views

A former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo has been presented with an award for his contribution to football development in his State.

It was also gathered that the duo of Victor Ezeji, a top figure in domestic football circles as well as an astute journalist, China Acheru were all appreciated by the Rivers State University Student Union leadership.

Just barely a year ago, Yobo was given a grand exit from professional football by a stellar collection of football stars and legends during his testimonial in Port Harcourt.

Illustrious African stars Samuel Eto’o, Sulley Muntari, Stephen Appiah, Lomana Lualua and Laryea Kingston were joined by former Nigeria players Nwankwo Kanu, Austin Okocha, Mutiu Adepoju, Austin Eguavoen and Ben Iroha to celebrate the 101-cap Yobo.

A Team Nigeria composed of current footballers Vincent Enyeama, Ahmed Musa, Emmanuel Emenike, Godfrey Oboabona, Efe Ambrose, Joel Obi was coached by the late Amodu Shaibu and Samson Siasia.

They took on Team World led by Eto’o and coached by former Everton and Manchester United manager David Moyes, who was assisted by former Nigeria youth coach Fanny Amun.

On current form is Isaac Success better than Ideye and if you answer honestly then that's who in my opinion he can replace easily.

I think people's issue with Ideye is he has been tried, retried, dropped, dusted, tried again, ran the rule over again and again.. hahaha.. and now he is in China. Seriously Success dey fall my hand. He use to be my main man.
