Possibly to fill the lacunae that would be created by Sanchez

Sanchez has been offered a new deal... Onyekuru can't be used to replace Sanchez.. You will need a quality experienced player to replace him.

you are distinguishing the goals. The initial post on how many goals Kelechi has scored had nothing to do with who was on the pitch when he scored them.

Oh, the goals against Tanzania and Luxembourg had nothing to do with Ideye or Ighalo. Those goals were all Kelechi, same Kelechi even helped Ighalo get a goal in one of those games. He might as well have been the sole striker considering how anonymous Ighalo was

How can u say that? My post specifically talked about him being better as a support striker.

The goals didn't have much to do with Ideye or Ighalo but they were on the pitch meaning Nacho was deployed in a different position. This is not about Nacho's class because we have already established that. I am just saying he has been much better as a SS.

Nobody is questioning Onazi's credentials. But in this game u always have to watc your back unless u have achieved Messi/Ronaldo status where you literally can influence player selection. The truth is Onazi has loads of competition unlike Echiejile for example.

I can tell u two or three monikers who are always question Onazi credentials and they keep on condemning d guy for no reason.

I remember Michael2 telling us how awful Onazi was against Senegal despite having just 25 mins on d pitch before d injury ruled him out.

The guy has paid his due, telling us Agu has only Onazi to displace is an insult coz to me Agu still has Ndidi or Etebo to contest with in d starting lineup not only Onazi

To be honest, I would pick Isaac ahead of him. Brown has been given so many chances to stake a claim but, each time, he would flatter to deceive. Hence, I would like him to give others a chance.

Picking Isaac over Ideye?with just concluded league i don't think Isaac deserves a place in d national team but his talent is not in doubt and this must have made Rohr to believe in him just like he believe in Osimieh

"Lots of potential, on one hand. On the other, on paper, he's not an upgrade to any of Arsenal's forwards, bar Sanogo. But we'll see. https:///UktqEImQwq"

I don't know y I fund this tweet about Onyekuru move to Arsenal very annoying, maybe because it was made by a Nigerian, a broadcaster and Oap for that matter.

Although I v not seen the guy play but what he has achieved in his first season as a Pro, I m finding it difficult to remember a recent Arsenal forward that I know who had similar exploits in his first season, starting from 2006 when Theo Walcott was brought in. Maybe there is sha n I just don't know

Take it from someone who knows, Isaac's problems at Watsford has more to do with attitude problems rather than ability.

Hmmmm first it was Ndidi now Agu,u guys forgot that Onazi has paid his due in d national team and still a force to reckon with

Do u guys think it's easy for Rohr to accommodate Onazi and Ndidi in his starring line up.Agu w go extra mile to break into that team coz Onazi is already there,Ndidi an emerging star,Etebo a workaholic.

I am not saying Onazi has been displaced but he is sitting on a thin ice. As it stands now neither Ndidi nor Karo can be benched ...Ndidi is shooting for world class while Karo the workhorse don't seem to be stopping anytime soon ,which will make Onazi the weakest link while Agu lurks around for a slip.
I like Onazi fighting spirit, he reminds me of Olofinjana with better ball sense but Onazi is not a baller. After that performance against Argentina at the last world cup before he got injured Onazi has never remained the same. Dude, took a dip in form. And this doesn't only apply to Onazi,Omeruo needs to sit up,Musa has already been relegated to the bench and Echiejile might not be lucky for too long...hehe. And if Iwobi can anchor that attacking midfield role then Mike might not be so safe....hehe . I don talk my own ooo

I don't know if Rohr will be sticking to our usual 4-2-3-1 going forward.
But if we based our argument on a specific formation we will have a more concrete discussion.

Nigerian Neymar Dennis Bonaventure Join Club Brugge

Highly rated 19 year old Nigerian forward Dennis Bonaventure has left Ukrainian side Zorya for Belgium giants Club Brugge, the club has announced.

According to a statement on the website of Club Brugge, the forward signed a four year deal at the Jan Breydel Stadium, with former Brugge fans favourite Sergiy Serebrennikov describing him as one of the best players in the Ukraine league.

” He has quickly evolved and showed himself among the best players in the Ukrainian championship this season”, he told the official website of Club Brugge.

Nicknamed “Nigerian Ney‎mar” the Abuja Football Academy graduate had a breakthrough season with Zorya where he played in all of the competitions they were involved in including the Europa League, playing in both legs of their clash against Manchester United.

He made 22 appearances and scored six goals last season for Zorya from his position as a wing forward in what was his first full season as a professional footballer after his move to Europe two seasons ago.

I think it is a perfect marriage. He loves Arsenal and Arsenal loves youth. Regular playing time at the onset is not guaranteed. But he will hit the ground running in his first season -- I'm confident.

Meanwhile, Kalu has new direct competition in Bonaventure.

I'm hoping Moses Simon's move to France materializes

Good analysis but let see how things goes but am not seeing Rohr distorting his team that played Zambia and Algeria except a top class player like Ndidi break into d team.

Sorry Iwobi anchor Nigeria midfield, well i don't doubt his talent but his recent performance make my eyes blinks and it seems is not ready yet, thank God player like Etebo can fit into Mikel position.

Onyekuru To Earn N15m A Week At Arsenal, Set For Medicals After International Duty

Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru is closing in on a dream move to English Premier League side Arsenal after the Gunners agreed a £6.8m fee for his transfer with Belgium side KAS Eupen.

As first reported by ScoreNigeria, the 19 year old who scored 24 goals for modest Belgium side Eupen will earn a salary of £38,000 (15 million in Nigerian Naira) a week at the Emirates.

Already the gunners have fixed a date for his medical, which will take place after his involvement with the senior national team of Nigeria ends with the game against South Africa on the 10th of June.

Onyekuru made his senior national team debut for Nigeria against Corsica, and he is also in contention to play against Togo in another friendly game tomorrow, where he could line up alongside his teammate to be Alex Iwobi.

Some other issues left to be trashed out in the deal includes several add ons due to Eupen, compensation to Aspire Academy and also bonuses the forward will earn season in, season out throughout the length of what will most likely be a five year deal.

Troost-Ekong & Awaziem Central Defence Partnership Thrills Gernot Rohr

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr is a big admirer of the blossoming partnership between William Troost-Ekong and Chidozie Awaziem in the central defence of the Nigerian team.

The duo were picked as central defence pair for the Eagles friendly game against Corsica, and their partnership endured goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa had little to do, and only conceded via the spot following a handball incident in the box.

Rohr has maintained the partnership in subsequent training session and in yesterday’s 9 aside game, they lined up alongside each other although lost to the super power of an Alex Iwobi inspired team.

They will most likely pair again when Nigeria take on Togo in tomorrow’s friendly, which will serve as the final preparatory test match before their AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa in Uyo.

Gent’s Troost-Ekong has been ever present since Rohr took over as coach of the team, while Awaziem who plays for FC Porto is yet to make his official debut for Nigeria, but has been part of the squad thrice since the appointment of the Franco-German coach.
