Highly rated 19 year old Nigerian forward Dennis Bonaventure has left Ukrainian side Zorya for Belgium giants Club Brugge, the club has announced.

According to a statement on the website of Club Brugge, the forward signed a four year deal at the Jan Breydel Stadium, with former Brugge fans favourite Sergiy Serebrennikov describing him as one of the best players in the Ukraine league.

” He has quickly evolved and showed himself among the best players in the Ukrainian championship this season”, he told the official website of Club Brugge.

Nicknamed “Nigerian Ney‎mar” the Abuja Football Academy graduate had a breakthrough season with Zorya where he played in all of the competitions they were involved in including the Europa League, playing in both legs of their clash against Manchester United.

He made 22 appearances and scored six goals last season for Zorya from his position as a wing forward in what was his first full season as a professional footballer after his move to Europe two seasons ago.

Onyekuru To Earn N15m A Week At Arsenal, Set For Medicals After International Duty



Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru is closing in on a dream move to English Premier League side Arsenal after the Gunners agreed a £6.8m fee for his transfer with Belgium side KAS Eupen.

As first reported by ScoreNigeria, the 19 year old who scored 24 goals for modest Belgium side Eupen will earn a salary of £38,000 (15 million in Nigerian Naira) a week at the Emirates.

Already the gunners have fixed a date for his medical, which will take place after his involvement with the senior national team of Nigeria ends with the game against South Africa on the 10th of June.

Onyekuru made his senior national team debut for Nigeria against Corsica, and he is also in contention to play against Togo in another friendly game tomorrow, where he could line up alongside his teammate to be Alex Iwobi.

Some other issues left to be trashed out in the deal includes several add ons due to Eupen, compensation to Aspire Academy and also bonuses the forward will earn season in, season out throughout the length of what will most likely be a five year deal.

I forsee a really exciting season in 2017/18 coz of the rise of Nigerian Players making the step up even more into the big leagues....

Senate passes Nigeria Football Federation bill

Chairman Senate Sports Committee, Obinna Ogba


The Senate yesterday passed the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) Bill 2017, which is now on transit to the president to sign it into law.

The passage of the Bill followed a clause-by-clause consideration of the report by the Senate Committee on Sports and Youth Development and was presented by its chairman, Senator Obinna Ogba.

In his presentation, Ogba explained that it had become essential to abrogate the extant law because of the controversies usually trailing the execution and regulation of the activities of football in the country.

He said that there had been series of court cases relating to football in the country, which did not go well with the country in the comity of nations, adding that the bill seeks to end all pending court cases about the NFF as they would be tackled by the Court of Arbitration and not regular courts.


He said: “It has become necessary to repeal the Extant Act. This is because it requires a lot of amendments to bring it into agreement with FIFA required international best practices. It is to give the desired boost it requires.

“The Bill has no financial implication because it is only seeking for a change in the name of the football body in order to achieve greater and better results in future.

“It seeks to ensure that only those who are actually involved in competitive football matches are members of the Federation and not just organisations and establishments as contained in the extant act.

“The bill also makes provision for the election of a President to lead the Executive Committee as against the existing law where the governing body of the association is a board appointed from different organisations.

“It further seeks to ensure mandatory systematic development of football through institutional, age and gender competitions.
Also, the bill makes provision for development of coaches and referees to enable them participate in international competitions and would take care of funding, which had been a major problem in the country.

Most of our players that are skillful & pacy are always deployed to the wings once they move abroad. Regardless of their former position. Whilst the ones that are neither skillful nor pacy end up defending. But if you are clinical at goalscoring & technical on the ball with enough strength, then you get the number 9. cheesy

Hahahaha, i chose to be a bystander in this argument. As you guys know already, I don't rate young players that highly. So I don't go mcuh into debates on issues concerning young players. A good number of them(most infact) end up not measuring up to expectations.

There are certain arguments about young players that I engage in. Not this type.

Talking about being a politician, that's funny to me.
I think people who have been long here enough already know my stand as per choice of players or players selection.

EXCLUSIVE: Mikel Agu Eagles ‘super revelation’, ‘Muazzam’ best NPFL star


FC Porto midfielder Mikel Agu has been the biggest revelation in the Super Eagles training camp in France with Alhassan Ibrahim ‘Muazzam’ the most outstanding player from the NPFL, a top team official has exclusively revealed to only SCORENigeria

Eagles coach Gernot Rohr gave debuts to as many as eight players against Corsica on Friday in Ajaccio.

He is expected to give other uncapped players like Victor Osimhen and Dele Alampasu their debuts against Togo in Thursday’s friendly in Paris from 6pm Nigerian time.

Officials have now specially informed SCORENigeria that defensive midfielder Mikel Agu has been the most impressive new boy in the team in France.

“He has shown class, he passes well, wins balls and without doubt a very outstanding prospect for the Super Eagles,” a team official told SCORENigeria

He further said the raw edges he displayed in the Flying Eagles training camp in Tunisia in 2013 are no more after a breakthrough season on loan at Vitoria Setubal.

The blistering pace of Arsenal-bound Henry Onyekuru has also not gone unnoticed in France.

“Henry is fast, like (Olanrewaju) Kayode, and with more experience he can be a very, very good player for Nigeria,” the official remarked.

The official also rated Alhassan Ibrahim ‘Muazzam’ as the most impressive player from the domestic league and looks set to underline the progress he has made in France by making the cut for the AFCON qualifier against South Africa.

“He has held his own in training in most instances after a bright debut against Corsica,” he told SCORENigeria

“He now looks good to make the squad for the AFCON qualifier against South Africa.”

It will be fitting for the player to feature against South Africa in the home ground of his club Akwa United.

However, MFM left winger Sikiru Olatunbosun, whose superb strike against champions Rangers won ‘CNN Goal of the Week’ has struggled to meet up the standards, failing to show what he has done in the league.

I am not surprised about Mikel Agu. Easily one of our best midfield performers this season alongside Ndidi. One of the reasons, I thought calls for Azubuike were too early.

I think people's issue with Ideye is he has been tried, retried, dropped, dusted, tried again, ran the rule over again and again.. hahaha.. and now he is in China. Seriously Success dey fall my hand. He use to be my main man.


I do not dispute what you are saying 28 games and 6 goals is not great. However, he does not play for Nigeria as out an out striker. So as a goal tally it is not that bad.

However, when he does play he makes a good positive contribution.

Considering his club form at what we can describe as top clubs not the creme de La creme of Europe but top league clubs in Europe he has done well. I mean 43 league games and 23 goals for Olympiacos is far from easy. That's why he got his big money bags move to China.

I do feel we are too quick to write off some of our ageing starts too quickly. Gyan for Ghana is still cutting it to some degree. I feel a better mixture of young and old would be better.

I do suspect that our NFF officials are trying to make arrangements and will impress upon Rohr options that are not to our best interest.

Consider Defoe who was written off by England and the EPL has just signed a £130k a week deal with Bournemouth and is back playing for the 3 Lions. Defoe is 2 years older than Obafemi 6 years older than Ideye and 6 years older than Efe Ambrose.

I see players in completely dead leagues being considered when our old guard tried, tested and some who are at top clubs are being ignored.

If you are not cutting it in your club with very limited exceptions like KC at City. You can't be invited to the SE.

Osimhen has played possible 10 minutes of football for lowly struggling Wolfsburg in two games and he is in the SE. That's simply not fair and sends a wrong signal when there are players who are cutting it week in and out for thier clubs.

Rob Holding has been playing English football knows the rigours of the English game, has had 30 games in the championship.

In addition he has had a whole season playing in the U23s getting ready to play the Arsenal way.

Onyekuru has had none of that coming from a club where he is the star man, with very little team discipline where he is concerned and little or no pressure.

He has a very steep learning curve when he gets to the EPL I hope it goes well.
