Look into the possibility of adopting your cousin legally after due consultation with the parents or guardians (as the case maybe) and getting the necessary paperwork/orders from the social welfare office and courts...i think that's the only way for him to be your dependant.

Also see the below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/glossary.asp#d

Adoption
A process whereby a person becomes a member of another family. This process must create a genuine parent-child relationship that permanently severs the legal ties to the child’s biological parents or guardians.

Dependent child
A child who depends on their parent for financial and other support. A son or daughter is considered a dependant of their parent when the child is:
under 19 years old, and does not have a spouse or partner, or
19 years old and over, and has depended largely on the parent’s financial support since before the age of 19 because of a physical or mental condition.

The definition of a dependent child before August 1, 2014 was:

A child who depends on their parent for financial and other support. A son or daughter is considered a dependant of their parent when the child is:

under 22 years old, and does not have a spouse or partner, or
a full-time student on an ongoing basis since before the age of 22, and has depended largely on a parent's financial support since that time, or
22 years old and over, and
became a spouse or partner before the age of 22, and
has been a full-time student on an ongoing basis since before the age of 22, and
has depended largely on a parent's financial support since they became a spouse or partner, or
22 years old and over, and has depended largely on the parent's financial support since before the age of 22 because of a physical or mental condition.

Yes, its possible, I am CLB 9 with MSc, married and I have 436, without spouse ECA/IELTS. So if I was younger like under 30 and not married, I will conveniently have up to that.

Hello all,

I've created this thread for Canadian Express Entry and outstanding FSW 2014 applicants since the previous thread became too long and has now been closed. I've also pasted a PDF link below which details the step by step instructions to apply for the Federal Skilled Workers Program via Express Entry.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4gWGgP8Vy5lSjFoaC01ZUtOaTg/view

In order to apply for Express Entry via FSW you need to first have a minimum of 1 year full time (30 hrs a week) or 2 years part time (15 hrs a week) skilled work experience which falls under NOC code A,B or O. Check for your NOC code below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

Next take your IELTS General test.

Then evaluate your degree or credentials via WES Canada (the best option). See link below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

After doing the above, to find out if you've qualified you need to score a minimum of 67 points out of 100 in the FSW grid. Calculate your score below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

Now that you've qualified, you can go ahead and complete your Express Entry profile via the link below:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp

Other things you must have:

Reference letters to verify the work experience you're claiming points for in the specified format below:

Written on company letterhead.

Signed by the responsible officers/supervisor.

Have the printed name and job title of the responsible officer/supervisor beneath the signature.

Show the company’s full address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail and website addresses

Stamped with the company’s official seal (if applicable)

The letter must include 5 things:

Your job title.

The dates of your employment (ideal format: DD/MM/YYYYY).

Your salary per year (or month).

Your average hours per week.

A detailed list of your employment duties.

Next you need to provide police certificates from all the countries you've resided in for 6 months and above since you were 18 years. See link on how to obtain PC from various countries below:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/infORmation/security/police-cert/index.asp

Then you need to provide proof of funds for you and/or your family:

Number of
Family Members Funds Required
(in Canadian dollars)
1 $12,164
2 $15,143
3 $18,617
4 $22,603
5 $25,636
6 $28,913
7 or more $32,191 (I've updated the funds requirement)

Note: Birth certificates are no longer required for applicants but are only now required for your child/children.

Wishing you the best of luck smiley!

Please I want to find out what chances dentists and veterinary doctors stand in the canada express entry. I am the dentist while my wife is a vet. I ask this question because I know that dentists and veterinary doctors require licensure examinations before they can practice in canada. Kindly enlighten me please.

POF can either be in the name of the primary applicant or in the name of the spouse. Nothing wrong in POF being in your name. No need to transfer to your wife.

Please note that this is just my opinion. The supposed problem with your POF is your cooperative, because the VO will need to confirm objectively that you have the money you claimed in your application and I do not know how your cooperative will satisfy that. You can either get a certificate from your cooperative after you liquidate the funds to show when the investment was made and when it was liquidated. This can assist the VO to form an opinion that the money in your statement of account is actually from your cooperative. Also, like I said previously, no need transferring the money again to your wife. It may appear you are trying to conceal something. Please note that I said, it may appear. Then you can explain your proof of funds in your letter of explanation. And if you can liquidate this cooperatives investment today, please do, but get the certificate and letter from them and also hope your cooperative is registered.

On your wife's international passport, she has two choice - wait next year to get a new one or apply with the old one. Also, the name on her passport must be the same on her application. There is a section for applicants who have other names - she can then put her new name there. Then support with marriage certificate, affidavit and newspaper column for change of name.

Please house, i want more views than these as i have another option of liquidating the funds in piecemmeal and crediting her account gradually , say over 3 months or so...i just want to ensure that the funds do not raise any eyebrow as in all, its our savings over time and free of any incumberence.

No PCC on Saturday, the approving officers wont be on ground then while the cost can be as low as $4,000 per adult depending on your bargaining power.

What type of cooperative society is it? Is it registered? If yes you should be able to get a certificate stating how much is due to you.
I won't advise you liquidate all your investments just because of POF as it is not 100% guaranteed that you will get PR.
You may need a lettter of explanation and evidence to show your monthly contribution to the cooperative and the source. Just do your best to explain the source of funds as CIC states that it's not only cash that counts as POF.

Check my previous posts and you will see that I have answered loads of post ITA questions. I even once posted a link to a blog that give detailed step by step instructions from the beginning till when you eventually land in Canada. See the link below for the post:
https://www.nairaland.com/2624318/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/322#54422549

I even gave post PPR advice.

As I will always advise, we need to learn to search for information online. I will again advise the following:
1. Visit IRCC website and check for info;
2. check different forums for reasons for rejection to ensure all required documents are submitted;
3 order for your gcms notes to see updates on your application and if necessary, send more supporting documents;
4. gather information about life in Canada after PPR;
5. read up about accreditation for your professions;
6. strategise on the best time and way to move to Canada;
7. start looking at vacancies in Canada and the skills they require;
8 start learning how to answer telephone interview questions and finally
9. learn DIY skills.

That's much I can say for now.

GFavor:
Hello Gurus in the house, for the POST ITA issues, i will suggest we have a page on this thread that has the steps for Post ITA just like Zandora did with page 0 for Pre ITA. This way anyone that has a question on Post ITA will be referred to this page, then come back and ask specific questions. This Post ITA page should contain what to look out for, putting your docs together, snapshots, pdf tips etc. It should also have the meanings of all those abbreviations COPR,AOR, etc.
I know it will be time consuming but pls gurus in the house lets put heads together so people don't keep clamouring for a seperate thread Post ITA.
@ Vcole, Dupsyshoo, Elfmann, Cala, Zandora etc over to u.

Sorry i will not be able to contribute as we are still in the pool. Hubby is the PA, we have been on this since 2015. All information we needed we got from this thread. I have never asked any question because i always visit the thread and pick solutions from responses. I started from page 0. Hubby is not so keen so i have to en courage him from what i read from here. His profile is better.

Sorry for my long epistle. God will help everyone on this canadian dream. Let us keep this thread alive.

Currently, you can't get up to that without Canadian Education/Experience. The last time I checked, the maximum one can get as single with MSc is about 481 and 484 for couple. I believe from next month, the CRS calaculator will change again due to additional points that will be added for applicants with siblings in Canada.

Eija:
i just used the CRS calculator and i scored 486 points

You can liquidate the money from your cooperative funds into your account, then transfer it to your wife's account. A simple LOE from you will be sufficient for the money transferred cos you are an accompanying spouse.

However, for her own cooperative fund, she will need to show evidences that the money was hers in the first place. An agreement signed by her to start the cooperative, bank statements showing the monthly deductions from her account and a letter from the cooperative showing when she started contributing the money, total money contributed and explaining that the money transferred to her account is her contributions and that there is no repayment required might suffice.

Is the cooperative registered? If it is not registered, it might cast doubt on the authenticity of the letter from them. If she can get a Cheque from the cooperative, it will be better. She can then deposit the money in another account that she has, transfer the funds to your account and then you transfer the money back to her salary account.

My advice is this: think of any questions the Visa Officer might have with regard to your POF and ensure you have answered all the questions.

ottawaboi:
Hello Fam,

Myself and Wifey have saved up (not loan) the required POF in 2 different cooperative societies with our different names. We intend to liquidate the funds into her account because she is the PA.

My concerns are:

-Since one of the cooperative funds is in my name, it means the funds will have to be liquidated into my bank account and I will need to transfer it to her account. I intend to get a letter of introduction from the cooperative informing CIC that the funds is NOT a loan, rather it Is my savings towards our quest for immigration and the letter will be attached to our application.

Is allowing spouse to transfer money into the PA’s account allowed at all? If it is, how do I explain the huge lodgement made to her account at once, say 1.5M?

- Since she will also be liquidating her cooperative too, how can she explain the huge lodgement, say another 1.5M without flouting CIC requirement especially because all the funds will be less than 3 months old in the account as we are sure to get ITA in the next draw.

- Her international passport is still in her maiden name, and she needs to renew it early next year, should she maintain the name on her new passport to avoid complications or do a new passport with her married name.

Note: her maiden name is on our EE account and IELTS result and we have a marriage certificate from a federal court.

Thanks Gurus, I will really appreciate your response to these burning concerns.

Brother let your wife's cooperative pay the money be deposited in an account that won't be used for PoF, and she transfers to you, then u transfer it all to d PoF account and write an LOE.

Hi Dupyshoo, good to have you here. Please I submitted my statement of result in the e-apr reason being that the school made a slight mistake in my name on my certificate. They wrote a "d" instead of a "b". Can statement of result fly? Or should raise a cse and submit my certificate that way explaining my situation. School says it will take sometime for them to reissue another one. I am not the primary applicant but I did ECA to support. Please i'l really need your advice. Thanks
