Apply to schools that will not request for Toefl. Many universities in USA recognize Nigeria. So apply to those schools and forget about the English program it's waste of money. It's expensive. dennison4luv: |

Please oo. I got my I-20 and my major is stated as business/managerial economics. While am going for Applied economics. Is this generalization the norm? Like will this cause confusion in the embassy. |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by LagosismyHome(f): 3:14am On Jun 01, 2017 |
joeluv: Not at all...such things dont matter so no confusion there as long as you verify with the school that when you resume yours is applied economics ... . Beside both fall under the same course family. 1 Like |

joeluv:This might not be an issue if Business/managerial economics is what you filled on your DS form but if not, you might have to change it. It is always better to be consistent, let your i20 be consistent with your ds form to avoid stories that touch. On another note, did you fill applied economics application? You might want to check with your school to be certain why there is discrepancy. Your grad cord should give a better explanation |

femi321: A friend of mine and I was in this position as the poster. He asked the school when we got the I - 20 forms to ensure it wasn't an error. They responded that sometimes what the Government recognises a major as may be slightly different in terms of wording from what the program is listed as by the school and that its not a problem at all. 3 Likes |

Am having difficulty uploading my passport photo on the DS-160. Must it be uploaded? The last time I went for a US visa interview I was unable to upload my passport so I simply carried a passport photo with me and I had no issues. Can I still do that? |

Good Morning folks (Port Harcourt Time) please does anyone have a list of schools that require just toefl and don't need transcript evaluation ( for MS in biology). So far my search has turned up virtually nothing. Thanks in advance nice folks. 1 Like |

ofavourmi: I won't have an idea of many schools because america is so big with lots of schools.... a school wiki can give u some directions So my comments to you. This school wiki shows its a private school. For undegrad the cost of yearly attendance is roughly $59,684.......so now it boils down to your pocket. What u can afford and if you are given funding. I didnt check ranking or anything like that... but based on this tuition a public uni (instead of private ) might work out much cheaper and still give you the same value. You have to do that research Chances of getting visa ...... nobody can predict that but the tuition does carry weight that at least it is an ok or good program if not how are others agreeing to pay that. Although is it actually good value for money . You have do that research ...if you apply and they give you funding then that perfect .... |

frankie2K:To m my findings, There might be slight differences between WES and some Schools. This is because some schools might have their own GPA template for international students developed by in-house evaluation experts. While some other schools who don't have all those resources would just request for a WES evaluation to save them the stress. For me I used WES free Calculator to get an Idea of my GP on a 4point scale. Hope this helps.. 1 Like |

bro, u re miss understanding what happen. I didnt argue with lagosismyhome. I was just sharing my own view. I strongly believe they is a freedom of speech in nairaland. Concerning me going for undergraduate, i dnt really knw why u bring this up but as an undergraduate i have been privilege to travel to the uk, dubai and india. So its obvious i have enough experience concerning visa process. I believe with God intervention and good preparation. its not difficult to obtain a student visa. My visa approve transcript is loading by next month. Thank for commenting |

From the news last night, out of the funds the FG releases to the foreign exchange markets, 45m usd was for tuition BTA and other traveling stuff. Hopefully this may have an effect on the visa fee. Maybe |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by LagosismyHome(f): 8:28am On Jun 01, 2017 |
onicemus1: Best to get it corrected ....some airlines will do changes for free if corrected within 24 hours or they charge you admin if done later. Also some airlines like British airways you get an online booking reference which you can log in and makes changes except name. Check if the airline has this 1 Like |
