The 2016-17 season was the first of the latest
TV deal and saw a total of almost £2.4bn paid
to the 20 clubs - up from £1.6bn last season.
Bottom club Sunderland got £93.471m - more
than the £93.219m 2015-16 winners Leicester
pocketed the previous season.

The figures are based on broadcast and
commercial deals plus prize money.
Funds from the Premier League's central
commercial deals and overseas broadcast rights
are shared equally - as is half of the domestic
broadcast income.
A quarter is paid out in prize money based on
each club's league position and the other quarter
in "facility fees" for each game broadcast on UK
television.
Arsenal were the top earners in 2015-16 with
£100.9m - but only the three relegated sides of
Hull, Middlesbrough and Sunderland were paid
less than that figure in 2016-17.

The ratio between the highest and lowest totals
paid by the Premier League to its clubs in
2016-17 was 1.61 to 1, the lowest among
Europe's top leagues, which means the Premier
League is more equal when it comes to sharing
revenue than its rivals.
The Premier League also paid out nearly £220m
to Aston Villa, Cardiff, Fulham, Newcastle,
Norwich, QPR, Reading and Wigan in parachute
payments.

Villa, Newcastle and Norwich - the three most
recently relegated sides - got almost £41m
each.

No wonder it's all only in EPL you see every team playing with their hearts, since at the end of the season, everyone is paid fairly.
However in some other leagues, only the top teams which are paid heavily are left to play like their leagues mean something.
One team can not come and kill itself, when it's not getting much reward.

The gap bw 1st and 2nd and the bottom clubs in Laliga is large.
Bundesliga the money first position gain isnt even much.

Dunno for this season though.

I know of Laliga, there have been several motions to resolve the gap since '10/11
That's why the league is only UCL practice sessions for top teams

Somehow the EPL clubs that are making all these money can barely make top 10 UEFA club ranking. If CL seedings were based on UEFA ranking like it used to be, No EPL club would be seeded

Lukaku is worth at least 55m pounds, that is reportedly how much Chelsea bid for him last year.... if Aubamayang is going for 60m, then Lukaku's price in the current market should be around 65-70m.

I don't agree with such inflated prices, but it is what it is. Lukaku can never be cheaper than the likes of Martial anyway...
so, if u were to pick the best out of the two, u will pick Lukaku ahead of Aubumayang?

What are you talking about? Mr man your argument is rubbish, when Jose came to United we did not qualify for champions league, which is not his fault, infact Van gaal was sacked for this reason, Jose was given a target, which is :qualify for next year UCL, and that he did. The route he took to qualify is irrelevant, except if you are an ''Einstein'' to add flavour to it, he won 3 trophies plus an opportunity to compete with either Juventus or Madrid in the super cup. So what do you really want? 2nd like Spurs and total disgrace in Europe, Gent an eighth place team in Belgium eliminated them, crashed out of UCL group stage in an easy group, or like guardiola that spent more than everyone while being knocked out by youthful Monaco, he took a of champions league semifinalist and league cup winners and went trophiless. How about Liverpool that lost the same "useless" Europa(according to you) last season, and crashed out of all the cups to give them more time to concentrate on the league and are not in any European competition like Chelsea. But only finished fourth. And requires a qualification to progress to where we are now.
We don't need your types as United fans, your types possess this negative energy that brings teams down.
Talking about that bitter slowpoke Roy Keane, Ferguson chased him away from United, when he started criticizing his teammates publicly, after a lose to Middlesbrough in 2005. That team he slated won the league cup that season and celebrated it to the fullest. The following season SAF added on Carrick and won the league, the following season tevez and Hargreaves came we won the league, champions league and world club cup. In that team that Keane criticized, has a young, Rooney,Ronaldo,Fletcher,J.S park, Vidic saha and Brown. Which are the foundation for a hatrick of league titles and 3champions league finals in 4years. Since then Roy Keane has been bitter about everything United, Real United fans don't pay attention to him. He is a bitter failed manager.

Good one.

Please who are you? Are you new here?

I am Humble sir, I am new here sir. I started supporting United the period Arsenal won the double in 1998 and almost everybody I know then around are Arsenal fans, because of Kanu and also they win things but I took a different route. UNITED!!!, so it surprises me that some United fans have this sense of entitlement that once we didn't win the league or CL in a season that season is a failure. Even Ferguson have stayed 3 seasons from 2003-2006 without wining either trophy infact we won only the Carling cup and FA cup within this period, not even playing good football. But the team came good later. It might interest you to know that Keane was the captain that time and he celebrated like mad when we won the FA cup in 2004 against championship side Millwall the next season we went trophiless and finished 3rd in a league that the only good team then are Arsenal and Chelsea. People listening to Keane don't know him well he is a dic.kh*ad.

No brother we won't fight,United fans usually are very intelligent and knowledgeable in football so will usually discuss with facts, figures and constructively, and I don't have time for many arguments. The only surprise I have hear is the guy that keeps saying Herrera telling mikhi to join attack against Ajax is a defensive move lolss that guy is funny Sha.

I like Lukaku. He's a very good goalscorer and would improve the team but if we spend 100m on him then I'm out because that is beyond ridiculous money fot him and we have lost our minds completely and not learnt from the Pogba deal. Pogba is a great talent but we overpaid by double for him so I'd hope we wouldn't make the same mistake again. I'm joining my local club supporters.
seems it would be better if clubs stop disclosing d transfer fee of players to the public. dat way we would appreciate d additions of quality to the team rather than haggle about whether or not the quality is worth the price.
