MrEverest: The Aminu Kano international Airport that has since become moribund due to many factors including demand, traffic etc is still there. I have never heard any Kano man complaining of marginalization because that airport is not patronized. There are seaports at Port Harcourt and Calabar, why are you not importing your goods through them? Which policy of SW made it mandatory for IOC's to open their HQ's there? What of private banks, who forced them to locate their HQ in Lagos? And why are many Nigerian and foreign business men opening new factories, refineries in SW? Who forced them? Learn from the leaders and you can get similar results, stop hating. 1 Like |

TheRealestGuy: All the IGR you are salivating about is less than $1 Bn for a whole year, while a state like New York almost same size as Lagos in population budgets $120 Bn a year. Yet you expect superb roads, fast rail, healthcare, education from the paltry $1 bn, who says Lagos doesn't need more help or increased IGR is really dumb The Niger bridge Ojukwu blew up was repaired by who? from the 20 pounds or with worthless Biafran currency? The food relief after surrender and the reintegration into FG jobs such that today Imo state has the highest number of federal workers shows the rehabilitation in RRR was abandoned? When are you going to show appreciation for anything? The Hausa that were massacred in Iboland before the war commenced have you compensated them? 1 Like |

I wonder whether anyone took time to study what this bill is proposing before commenting. In the account I read it is proposing to REDISTRIBUTE a fraction of the extant allocation of the SE states and then lump same together into one common pool. Firstly this would be unconstitutional and usurping the power of the various State Houses of Assembly in the SE. Hope is not lost since this is something the SE can do by themselves by consensus. In practical terms it may be difficult when it comes to sharing projects and so it seems doomed from conception. There was nothing in the proposal to allocate NEW MONEY specifically from the FG budget and that is the part that ought to concern other regions since potentially then they would lose out but the proposal in the bill was neutral fro that perspective and constitutionally is beyond the purview of the National Assembly. 2 Likes |

These NNDC or DAWN was not set up by a bill in the national assembly. But the dunce SE rep thought another avenue for federal appointment and contract award will come. 2 Likes |

Nigerian politicians and the southeastern members of the HoR are bunch of nincompoop..why must they get a Southeast Devt Commission? what special problem is the southeast suffering from that they need a commission to tackle. The Niger Delta has the NDDC (which is quite understandable)..they've created a commission for the North east now south east wants theirs. thought they've got brains and are a developed region..nonsense! |

sekundosekundo:how old are you? How many banks were in Nigeria in 1966 how many people had accounts. How did they identify accounts of EASTERNERS HOW come no Ikwerre man,No Efik man no I jaw man is making this claim. Was there a decree to that effect? Tell us the number. That banks should identify Eboe accounts. ? How did they do that? The truth is Eboes left for Biafraid in a trip of no return they had no intention of returning and most emptied their accounts took the Nigeria pound and exchanged it for Biafran pounds which backfired. Those who could prove they had accounts got their money after the war. Naturally Eboes are crafty and many who never had accounts claimed to have lost the documents but eve at that those who were genuine got their money. How come you cannot show one newspaper article whether in Nigeria or from elsewhere to show that government forcefully took Eboe money. Lies, cheap lies. £20 of Nigeria money in 1970 is equivalent to £300. What was the Nigerian budget? Awolowo whom you hate so much in addition to giving all the liars £20 which they did not deserve kept the allocation of the East Central State for 3 years and gave it to the state after the war 6 Likes 1 Share |

REMINDER of what happened when...... A Yoruba friend asked me: Under what conditions would you support "One Nigeria" and let go of the Biafra agitation and let it die down and finally laid to rest for good? Here was my response: 1. Close down Lagos ports and Open up PH, Calabar, Onitsha and Warri ports. 2. Cancel all direct and major connecting flights to Lagos and Abuja airports only local connecting flights will be allowed. While this is being done, open up Enugu, Owerri, Asaba, Uyo and PH to international flights direct and major connecting flights. 3. Ask all international and diplomatic missions to move their embassies and consulates from Lagos, Kano and Abuja to Enugu, PH and Calabar. 4. All federal governments’ agencies in Lagos and Abuja shall be relocated to Enugu, PH and Calabar. CBN, NNPC, e.t.c shall and must relocate to PH, Calabar and Enugu. 5. All multinational companies in Lagos and Abuja, shall and must relocate their offices to PH, Calabar and Enugu. 6.All oil companies must relocate their head offices to PH, as the oil capital of Nigeria. 7. Let the northern children gain admission into federal schools with 300 score points while the South Eastern Children should gain admission with only 20 score points . 8. Let all federal road projects in the North/SW should be handled by one local companies and the one in the SE/SS should be handled by Julius Berger and foreign construction companies. If these conditions can be fulfilled and implemented for 50years , we can try one Nigeria and let see if you the North and SW will like it for a month... Meaning, Yorubas and Hausas needing to get international visas shall travel to PH, Calabar or Enugu to do that. Same with flying or connecting flights, same with shipping and importing their goods, etc., etc. The Yoruba friend replied: You can’t be serious, this is wickedness and I said... Really? Don’t you think South Eastern part of Nigeria have been suffering and enduring this very same wickedness for over 50 2 Likes |
