According to reports made available to Brainnews NG this morning has it that Inyene, a 28-year-old was shot dead on Thursday at around 7pm by unknown cultists.

An eye-witness who is familier with the deceased says he belongs to a known secret group (cult).

He (the victim) died immediately from internal bleeding after he was shot five times by armed cultist numbering five

According to reports, the victim’s cult group had an internal dispute where as he was to hand over his top rank to his second, but he refused

The incident which occured at Mount Zion Road by Goldie Street, a busy area in Calabar, the Cross River State capital largely occupied by UNICAL students force residents of this area to bed before a downpour

Peace has long been restored in this area, but a reprisal attack is likely to take effect

This incident struck on the same day the acting president, Yemi Osibanjo visited Cross River State

On the same day, the owner of Hit FM, Calabar, Patrick Ubeg was kidnapped by an unknown gunmen

In the same week (mid-week), the state security system was nearly halted when Nigerian Navy and the Police attacked each other, which resulted in sensitive infrastructures belonging to the police being burnt down.

Until date no official statement from the police or navy has been made to the public in regards in this incident.
