Tinfoil:
The kulbiyow attack video is out. In it you see that the KDF base was completely overrun. As soon as they are engaged KDF soldiers flee and most KIA in flight. Most of the equipment captured is seen in other videos been mounted with A A guns
Can someone put those AH into action angry angry angry
Tinfoil, why do you seem excited about attacks on KDF?

The clusterfvck that is the eastern DRC.

Even my untrained eye can see that many of those groups could be mopped up with no real sweat...

Those Yakutumba guys to the south... hemmed in by Lake Tanganyika to the east and high ground to the West...

For once the Army is moving,
The NIgerian Army has established the aviation corps, COAS, Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai " We have compiled list of platforms from Russia, American & China origin including simulators & UAVs" "One project that is dear to me is the take off of the Nigerian Army Aviation (corps)..."
Platforms considered :
-Mi-17 (due to its ruggedness, operanility & multirole capability) I personnaly want it because the Air force is using it as well
-Roivalk AH (after witnessing a demonstration in SA on the platforms and its employability) for me yes if maintenance is done at home
-H125 helicopter. For me is the best light utility heli, my only problem with it everybody know...

Let's go my "juju" brother what do you think will best for NA, and choices that they will do

Trust me we will never go for the Rooivalk. The army will go for platforms from China or Russia.

It's not that I am excited. KDF made press releases and lied about what happened saying, the base was not overrun, the number of KIA, ....

The troops are underpaid, bad leadership is condoned, ill quipped, and yet billions of $ are allocated to it.

Just trying to show what is really going on

Ok I think that we are on the same subject, what im saying is that the edge ATGM had on tanks has reduce with passive/active PS but ATGM like you said are very good. (I havnt said ATGM are obsolet to but are less effective or maybe going to be obsolet against modern day tanks ). An example is with Trophy on the Merkava. No tanks were damaged during Operation Protective Edge, with the Trophy Active Protection system performing over a dozen interceptions of anti-tank weapons including Kornet, Metis and RPG-29.
For sure ATGM are very used, build it in the country will be a better investment than buy it from another country. Why I want a tank because it is more easy to buy a ATGM during a heavy fight than buy a tank when you are under fire. Im not expert in military thats why I listen to experts and they basicly all agree attack is the best defense.
And in APS Russians has the lead they are the first to devolp it and say that the APS used on Armata is the best in the world...
There is a move to produce munitions capable of hitting vehicles with AP systems(eg Denel's proposed stealth Ingwe missile). There just isn't a huge need for those yet.

There is no such thing as "best in the world" that system might not perform well in Africa. Similar the SA system had to undergo changes for the European environment.

Z19 right, yes it is lighter, new, good punch... It is more for support to the infantry right ?
If the Army is going for a light aviation corps focus on providing support to the infantry so yes it will be a very good choice

Yes, it will be a good choice. The z10 costs around 16M USD. These should be way cheaper.

Doesn't have a chin mounted gun.

That's very odd for an attack helicopter. This means it carries a gun pod?

Taking up a much needed hardpoint that ordinarily should carry another rocket rack.

No Sir, this is not a well thought out helicopter. Instead of this, the army whenever they are ready should go for armed LUH instead.

What do you suggest? T-129?
Is that a gunpod or a fuel tank?

For the first time, I'll agree with you. A helicopter that doesn't have a gun, fewer hardpoints is hardly practical.

MI-17 terminators assault helicopters and any modern armed scout helicopter. I don't see why the army should get a "dedicated" attack helicopter.

There is no rational reason for such a purchase in my opinion. The Air Force already flies Attack Helicopters, why would the army also need them?

Is hardly an attack helicopter, and for 16 million, that's just too expensive.

Lets say ypu bet on ATMG having the edge in the futur, & me on Tanks havin the edge in the futur.
Tanks are not build to fight against planes or helicopters, even 30 mm canon from an heli can make serious damage or destroye a tank
(Armata is coming with Anti-air weaponry... I tell you this is the Tank of the futur)
What tanks do no other vehicle can do that job, ATMG are like hit and run away weapon. 1 shoot and even APS doesnt destroye everything, ATMG doesnt heat everyday, but locate the shooter erday
*Buying T90 for the same price ass Armata for me this will not be a good idea

You're betting on a sinking ship bro!
