Joebie:definitely will. Sir, You should be placing S. Moses and A. Musa side by side in the national team. If Iwobi was to be an average player who happened to have some dip in form as u stated do you think he would have picked up so easily again? It's just barely 2month ago and from report reaching us from Camp, the dude has gotten his fit back. As for S. Moses, I am not seeing the FORM you are saying. Thank God, God's willing we'll all get to watch next weekend fixture against SA(Atleast DStv will show this one). 1 Like |

I'm not questioning Iwobi's class as you put it. My question is if Iwobi is out of form as we saw him at a point in time recently will you rather start ahead of an in-form Moses Simon on LW. Both players play that position. We have seen an in-form Moses Simon. Many of our forwards are versatile. Even Ahmed Musa has played LW for us many times in the past. Experiencing a deep = out of form AIG07: |

the funny thing is the omeruo they're arguing for seems to play more of defensive midfield lately for his club side....and not central defense |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Mujtahida: 3:21pm On Jun 03, 2017 |
eterisan:As at 2013 when Omeruo made his debut for the senior national team he was a rookie defender. He was at Chelsea. Was he playing for Chelsea? The point(read where you said Omeruo was at Chelsea and had been with the Eagles before he made his debut) I am trying to make is that Awaziem today is at where Omeruo was when he started. And he's not improved. He's gone on loan four times and I guess he's still on loan. 2 Likes |

eterisan: Concerning if Rohr trust Omeruo more, I can not ascertain that until the camping reports. For now, my money is on Awaziem. Unless reports states otherwise, Awaziem ticks the right boxes. Concerning Angelino and co., there are clearly better talents out there. City needs to tighten their scouting methods to unearth top quality youngsters. We are just spending money on whatever kid that shows promise. We need to treat the Etihad campus with as much seriousness as we do with the senior team. Although some transfers are questionable, like Sterling and Nolito. |

TheGoodJoe: I tell you...same omeruo that could not walk into the starting eleven of Middlesbrough' I am surprised at our conservative approach to football... it took ndidi exploit at Leicester for us to know that the dude is now ripe for SE and now a starting material... if not our Turkish based player...onazi would have still been keeping him on the bench... Nigerians rarely spot potentials I doubt if many of us here can ever make a good scout...... we just cling to the old way of life and expecting unprecedented change to take place.... the omeruo many clamour for here...is now a defensive midfielder in his club and not a central defender.... 5 Likes |

Humility017:Currently there are players who when they play for us your heart go dey shake if them dey defence *Ezenwa *Akpeyi *Omeruo While some if dem dey attack you go just d vex *Ighalo *Ideye *Musa(sometimes) When you see a confident player you will know. Even if you are not in camp once you watch them on television you'd feel their confidence and that puts you at ease. Jay Jay made lots of mistakes, Kanu too but this were generally confident players. Omeruo is good but he gives us jitters. 2 Likes |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 3:31pm On Jun 03, 2017 |
Humility017: It took Iheanacho to score the decider against Crystal Palace before people agreed he deserved a Super Eagles call-up. What you are pointing out even goes on to coaches. Some coaches just watch around and look for starting eleven players in clubs and old list. Then call these players regulars. Very few have the capability of rolling their sleeves and unearthing gems. Look at Jardim's work at Monaco or Ranieri with Ngolo Kante, Mahrez and Ndidi. Now clubs are rushing for Sidibe, Bernado Silva, Mendy, Lemar and Mbappe. However, these players were there before this season. Most people analyse football with that same static spectacle. 2 Likes |

Mujtahida: perfect list.... the mistakes omeruo makes these days makes me scared.... I really Blame him for this... he has refused to place his career beyond the prestige and value of being a Chelsea player.. players that value their career in his shoes should be thinking of leaving Chelsea permanently go establish yourself somewhere...instead of constant Loans you can't expect to get used to a team playing pattern, learn and get used to the weather and surrounding environment under one season loan spell... that has been happening to him...always moving from team to team.. the last time I heard he now plays defensive midfield..... |

Okay lets follow your logic: Since Omeruo fumbled as CB against Zambia he has NEVER returned there. Against Zambia Ndidi played RB, ahead of Shehu Omeruo was RB versus Algeria ahead of Shehu. Shehu replaced him in the 66th minute. Ebuehi started as RB against Corsica ahead of Shehu in the absence of Omeruo Omeruo started as RB against Senegal ahead of Ebuehi and Shehu Shehu started as RB against Togo ahead of Ebuehi in the absence of Omeruo. So this follows that... (although Rohr makes the final say) modified** Let me help you. So far it follows that : 1. Omeruo is preferred among the trio at RB 2. Omeruo has never been used to pair Ekong at CB since the Zambia mishap 3. Shehu has been a regular call up and his closest rival seems to be the new entrant, Ebuehi 4. Awaziem even though a new entrant will most likely get the nod since Rohr has not tempered with that Awaziem-Ekong CB partnership even in test training matches. That's more like continuity in the absence of Balogun. It is LESS risky than an Omeruo-Ekong CB partnership AGAIN after a long time. eterisan: 2 Likes 1 Share |

Humility017:On this Osimhen issue the preferred approach is to just watch for now. A raft of guys playing for championship sides in England na im dem prefer. No wahala with that. But Osimhen has questions on his head. How can those questions be answered if he's not given an opportunity to answer them. You set exam. You lock the key to the exam Hall preventing a student from taking the exam. How then can the student prove himself? Osimhen =fingers crossed for now. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: well said.... I think that is more common wit African coaches I read...Babagida chiding rohr for inviting John Ogu only on the foolish reason... the he is far away in Isreal unlike the rest players we don't get to watch him play weekly. and tomorrow these same man will be fighting and jostling for the SE coaching job and many will cry for him to be given on the mere reason that he is an ex international and an indigenous coach... same man that don't get to watch an Isreali league and don't know...why they employ scouts and make use of tapes.... 1 Like |
