I can see that teams win games from performance during drills and not from performance during the 90mins of match day.

We don put hand for England pot remove one meat (Aina) already. Out of all those remaining players it's just Tammy, Iorfa, Seyi Ojo (when he returns from injury) and Onyedinma that I fancy we try to rope them in. Solanke no go play for us. He's no better than what we have.

But all in all with all the names here and there its evident that we are blooming and that alone makes me happy. One can sit down today and come up with at least 25 good players for the National team. If you try am two years ago you go for get headache. No be im make Keshi go carry one Rastaman follow us go Brazil 2014 and we really didn't let out as much as a whiff of discontent.

Walahi! You no know Solanke

Add Lookman and Onomem, dey are very good.

Dey even plenty.

I wonder how a player can PROVE himself if not given an opportunity. Odey and Olatubosun have been given an opportunity. Seems they couldn't cut it(doesn't mean they should not be given another opportunity)

And yes players are groomed - the whole idea of training, drills and all is part of grooming. I hope you know that the great Ronaldo de Lima was taken along with the team to USA 94.

The fact that Rohr consistently invites this boy should put us in a let-me-sit-down-and-look position.
Who would you propose should have been invited in the place of Osimhen?

Can you consider the depth of your comparative reasoning so as to make it substantive.

Ronaldo De Lima at age 17/18 had in first senior season for Cruziero in the Brazilian top league played 47 games and scored 44 goals. This performance was phenomenal. He was now almost an enigma at 18 proven, tested and outstanding.

Meanwhile Ronaldo's progress was restricted for Brazil by a certain Romario who was just beyond description amazing.

Osimhen is 18 has played how many games and how many goals. Bro there is ZERO comparison.

In all honesty I doubt if Osimhen can enter Chelsea U18.

If you can name a nigerian player that can play the RB and DMF positions at the same time then I will agree that Shehu should not be there.

If you can tell me what business Ronaldinho had at the 2002 world cup then I will agree that Oshimen shouldn't be there. Let's start with two

Abdul Ajagun dey play no 10, Cmf, DMF, both Wings and RB.

Yes! RB, he played there this season.

Rohr Recalls Dropped Watford Loanee Uche Agbo For South Africa Clash

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has handed a recall to Uche Agbo 24 hours after dropping the on loan Watford midfielder in his list of players for the AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa.

Agbo wasn’t included by the manager in his initial list, but the 23 year old who spent last season at Spanish La-liga side Granada will now join the team when they resume camp in Abuja ahead of the South Africa game.

No reason was given by the coach for his recall, even though team sources confirmed to Owngoalnigeria.com that he has lost his spot in the team to FC Porto teen defender Chidozie
Awaziem ,who has struck a very good understanding with William Troost-Ekong in the central of defence for the team.

Rohr has always called up Agbo due to his abilities to play in more than one role for the team, as even though primarily plays as a defensive midfielder , he is also very much at home as a central defender, but the emergence of Awaziem means the central defence spot is well covered.

Also the midfield options available for the coach are very much ahead of him in the pecking order as the likes of Wilfred Ndidi, John Ogu, Eddy Onazi and new boy Mikel Agu have all proven to be best suited to the way the coach wants to play.

First of all, I want you to name those 'better players' that have not yet been invited and We would gladly recommend them to Rohr and his coaching crew if truly they are better than the player(s) you want them to replace.

Concerning the issue of replacement are you telling me that for the current Eagles team we don't have at least 2 or 3 players per position?

Victor Moses, Leon Balogun and Mikel Obi who are 3 regulars are out and we are not even crying over it because we have capable replacements.

Also that team is so dynamic such that most of those players are capable of playing at least 2 positions. Any of Etebo, Iwobi, Moses, Musa, Success, Simon, Onyekuru can play each other's positions fairly comfortably. Injury to any 2 or 3 and we still have a pool to pick replacements from. Our midfield boast of Mikel, Onazi, Ndidi, Shehu, Agu, Ogu and sometimes Etebo. What of the defense? Even in Balogun's absence we still have 3 good CBs in Ekong, Omeruo and Awaziem. Recall also that Ndidi can also play CB. Echiejile, Shehu, Ebuehi, Madu and the newly invited Yousef are there as wing backs.

I am not saying this team is there yet but the fact remains that we are gradually getting there.

If there is any player the coaches feel can add quality to the team they will invite.

And if your favorite players are not there,of which I know is the main reason for this your clamour for back ups, let them keep working hard they may get their chances one day.

If you truly believe what you are saying then I don't think you know what goes in the NFF

NFF Take Concrete Steps To Cap Arsenal Linked Starlet, Invite Him To AFCON Qualifier Vs RSA

The Nigeria Football Federation have taken concrete steps to cap the Arsenal linked wonderkid Lateef Omidiji Jnr ahead of the United States and Netherlands, and plan to present him to the public next Saturday before the national team take on South Africa in an African Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo.

It can be exclusively revealed that the Feyenoord striker has been contacted to represent the United States U15 squad ahead of the 2019 Fifa U17 World Cup with a big announcement to be made in the coming days , but the Nigerian Federation are hoping to beat the Americans to this one.

''The Nigerian Federation have invited Lateef for the Eagles game in Uyo next weekend, they want to present him to the media and fans before the game, '' a top source close to the NFF told allnigeriasoccer.com .

''He is supposed to go to a USA U15 camp this summer, end of
June or early July, but he has not decided yet. He may be in Nigeria this Wednesday if he accepts the offer from the NFF.

''USA are looking at him for the 2019 Fifa U17 World Cup. USA plan ahead, they are more strategic, they want to build the team around him. The NFF are talking about the same thing.''

Omidiji trained with the United States U14 squad in California in November 2016 and impressed the coaching staff.

Dominic is going to Liverpool while Tega to Newcastle.

Currently, Solanke is the backbone of the U20 England team. grin

I was in deep discussion with Liverpool fc although I am somewhere in Europe at the moment.

And Solanke is going to make up numbers he is going to have to fight like a lion to get into the first team.

Sorry for jumping into your quote, but I am glad to inform your that omeruo has played midfield this season for his team..you do not play midfield if you cannot pass the ball..so add ball playing defender to his attributes and he becomes an all rounder..just little mistakes here and there..you know rough edges.. Cut the guy some slack..he is our most capped central defender right now..most experienced central defender in the national team..longest serving central defender in the national..most successful central defender right now..*afcon* if not for injury and little errors ekong and balogun wouldn't have been ahead of him. That we are even having this debate na falling hand for omeruo.

Longevity is not quality simply put Omeruo is not a quality defender that's why he is where he is on loan in lowly league and club from Chelsea.

NIGERIAN STARLET HENRY ONYEKURU CONFIRMS ARSENAL OFFER

Following a stunning season in Belgium, the 19-year-old striker has caught the attention of Gunners manager Arsene Wenger
Nigerian striker Henry Onyekuru has confirmed that Arsenal have made an offer to secure his services.

The 19-year-old had a breakthrough campaign in the Belgian top-flight in 2016-17, scoring 24 goals in all competitions for Eupen.

His exploits have led to interest from around Europe, but it appears the Gunners are set to win the race for his services by triggering a £6.8 million buy-out clause.

"It’s a good feeling for a club like Arsenal to make a bid for me, this is due to my hard work in training and games," Onyekuru told the Nigerian Football Federation.

Onyekuru's attraction to the Gunners is partly fuelled by his desire to follow in the footsteps of one of his footballing idols.

"Thierry Henry has always been my idol since I was a kid," Onyekuru said.

"I was watching him play, watching Arsenal and going to YouTube to watch most of his games.

"I remember saying if I had to move to the Premier League I want to be like Thierry Henry, so it's likely to come true and I'm looking towards it at the moment."

Onyekuru made his full Nigeria debut on Thursday, coming on as a 59th-minute sub in the Super Eagles' 3-0 friendly win over Togo.

Emenike Scores First League Goal Since November ; Oboabona , Igiebor Relegated With Rizespor
By Johnny Edward

Ex-Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike scored his first goal for Fernabahce in 2017 in Saturday's 3-1 Turkish Super Lig win over Adanaspor, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Emenike came on for Moussa Sow in the 75th minute of the game to seal the win for the Yellow Canaries in stoppage time.
The former West Ham and Spartak Moscow striker last scored a Turkish league goal for Fenerbahce in their 1-0 win over Konyaspor on the 24th of November, 2016.

The 30-year-old striker made 16 league appearances (27 in all competitions with eight goals and five assists) for Fenerbahce and scored four league goals and made four assist this season.

Meanwhile, Nigerian trio Godfrey Oboabona, Nosa Igiebor and Bright Edomwonyi have all been relegated to the Turkish second division with Rizespor despite winning their final league game 1-0 over Alanyaspor on Saturday.

Suleyman Koc scored the game's first goal from the spot in the 45th minute.

Striker Edomwonyi was in action for Rizespor and was booked in the 54th minute of the encounter before he was replaced 10 minutes later by Jakob Jantscher.

Midfielder Igiebor came on for Suleyman Koc in the 78th minute of the defeat. It was Igiebor's 13th appearance this season. He scored once. Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo was also replaced at the start of the second half for Alanyaspor.

Rizespor needed a win and hoped Bursaspor lose in their final fixture against Ogenyi Onazi's Trabzonspor to stay up.

But it was Bursaspor who survived the drop. Bursaspor, who had lost their last five league games, defeated Trabzonspor 2-1 to retain their top flight status in the Turkish Super Lig for next season.

Onazi who started in his side's defeat was replaced in the 84th minute. The Super Eagles vice-captain made 33 Super Lig appearances (39 in all competitions) for Trabzonspor, scoring twice and providing one assist this term in his debut campaign for Trabzonspor.

Elsewhere, Raheem Lawal featured for Kayserispor who lost 1-0 at home to Istanbul Basaksehir. The game was Lawal's 20th league game this season. In all competitions, Lawal made 31 appearances this season and scored five goals and made three assists.

On this Osimhen issue the preferred approach is to just watch for now. A raft of guys playing for championship sides in England na im dem prefer. No wahala with that. But Osimhen has questions on his head. How can those questions be answered if he's not given an opportunity to answer them. You set exam. You lock the key to the exam Hall preventing a student from taking the exam. How then can the student prove himself?

Osimhen =fingers crossed for now.

Before you take an examination you must have the pre- requisite qualifications otherwise you are excluded.
