Good evening. For those using baby formulae do you make it and put in the warmer? Or they make it in the creche? Don't know if I can just prepare like three bottles and put in the warmer
Secondly what causes skin on babies bum to peel?

Put quantity of milk in bottle.carry ur hot water flask and normal water bottle.include a measuring cup or extra bottle.instruct nanny to use cup to measure the normal amount of warm water then pour into the bottle containing milk.shake and feed.
Please do not for any reason make the milk from home biko.
Even if u have warmer.and pls they should also discard left of milk.

Kindly store milk powder in quantities ur baby finishes at once.
If u dont have so many bottles.u can buy milk dispenser cups.its like 1000.for pack of four. Scoop the normal spoon into each cup.
Then dy jus use it one at a time.
But different bottle will be better to minimize handling.

All the best.

I did exclusive but i used same technique.

Mamas pls weigh in on this!

I've concluded I like baby sitting, I mean I love it and I love babies........ I want to take it as a profession.i have OND already and I'm in my final year for BSC(grade looks good wink wink), just started the session actually, service is still there and I have my own baby (over 6months old).

my questions are:
Is there a course here in Nigeria i can take, so I can be more professional?
how does it sound leaving your own child to care for other people's children or can I take him along?
when can I start, considering my academics too?
is it possible to earn enough, considering what I might get from other jobs?
how do I approach hubby with this idea?
how do I package my own kind of Nanny?

i believe happiness comes from doing what you love.

Okay, you like babysitting, you want to take a course in childcare. Based on that, you are about 35% ready to take care of my baby smiley. Because you are more willing and love your career more than half the people working in creches.

Now, I don't know if Nigeria has childcare courses and I doubt it (I have met former classmates who own creches and I wouldn't have trusted them with a puppy sef but here they are). But... What about the World Wide Web?? The internet has lots of resources on this and probably some courses. So read read read.
I would expect you to know Health and Safety, First Aid, Baby Nutrition, Baby Development etc. I'd like you to ask me for a schedule of Baby's events all through the day and meals. You've got to have at least 18 hours light (because of milk and food storage). If you also tell me, "after nap time I will toss all babies in a stroller and take them to a nearby playground and I have a movable baby cam so you can always check up my behavior", you've got my child already.

Maybe start by either asking a creche nearby if you can volunteer for 2 months for a reduced salary so you know if you can handle multiple screaming babies. And start by taking in no more than 3 kids, preferably close to your child's age.

You're not ready to open a creche (let's learn how to paddle before learning how to swim, because Nigerians will urge you think big and then you are not ready). But does that stop you from taking in a few Babies into your Baby-proofed home. Try and set up a child corner, diaper corner, feeding corner and play area. No electric sockets, sharps or wires or bottle of Raid and Sniper. No buckets and toilet door always closed.

Put up colorful flyers in your area and word of mouth. And then take it from there.

Good morning mama in the house, What do you do when you wish to breastfeed your baby for six month and Just put little formula when she's extremely hungry.
My baby started eating formula since 2 days old because oyinbo doctor said breast milk can't fill her and since then we have been using both.
But i noticed recently that she doesn't sleep long like before . So the question that keeps ringing in my heart is , Is it because I haven't started solid? I plan to start at exactly 6 month but the way she wakes up every 20 minutes it's tiring. It's like breast milk did not fill her again. What do you think? Should I start solid now or just kuku endure to reach 6 months in two weeks time. I need your opinion before going to doctor for her check up.

There's nothing wrong in it.
There are some courses you can look at : EYFS: Early Years Foundation Stage. It focuses on handling kids between 0-5 years-old which I guess are the ones you intend to babysit. You can do it as a diploma (for graduates ) or degree (for freshers)
You'll also need to go through some trainings and certifications in specific areas of health and psychology. It will help prepare you for task ahead and to give the parents rest of mind.
Doesn't sound bad. Teachers leave their kids to teach other people's kids. Sometimes it hurts that you're doing a better job on your pupils than your kids teacher is doing on yours but such is life.
I'd advise you to finish your course first, by then your child would be in school age so when you start he won't distract you from other babies or hinder your legwork. You won't want to start and then leave the kids for exams or tests....
You won't earn enough at first, not until you have enough kids. Don't even think of going to babysit in their houses. Your activities schedule will always make you miss days or arrive late on other days .

Your husband..... You know him best.

Packagin your nanny: you can start with your sitting room. Clear it to make space, buy 1 or 2 childsize mattress with net and a small baby bed with net too.
Get some child friendly toys, childproof the area, get the word out and invite people to comman see. Employ someone for days you won't be there ( the person might be middle aged that is patient with babies) ,you also need a nurse on standby so you might have an arrangement with a nurse to come once in a week or once 2 weeks or to always be available in case of emergencies.
Get the word out, start being friendly and yet look classy with your neighbours. If they feel you're dirty or scattered or troublesome they won't bring their kids. Then wake up early to see the career women.... The ones that leave home as early as 5-6.30am. Stay late too 7-10pm. Those are the ones that really need your fliers.
If they know they can drop their kids as early as 6am and pick them up at 7pm you have no ishhhh.
You can also have the afterschool option of like the school bus picks the older siblings at your place and drops them off after school. The trouble is separating the older kids from the younger ones cos they influence language and attitude a lot. So you have to work that out.
Know to stop at a certain number of kids at this stage. Kids need space so don't just pile them up all in the name of money. The normal ratio is 2-3 babies to an adult. In my school, the baby class has like 6-7 babies all above 1 and 4 teachers. But that's another case entirely. Once the kids get to 3, employ someone else (around 40+) when they get to like 7-8 get a teenager ( more energetic and can be supervised by you both). I'd stay stop at 10 if you have a really big sitting room. 7 if it's small.
Also get a standby gen for hot days. Nobody wants a rash on their babies and to power the fridge for days Nepa decides to do anyhow. Clean up your kitchen..... Everyone will want to see where you're making their kids food....
So many things to consider sha.
Go round creches to see how it's done. You can go under the pretence that you want to register your child. See what they have to offer and try to modify it within your own space.

Good luck kiss

Have been offline since my last post. In fact, that yellow huggies is exactly what she was using when the rash started. Please discard that diaper, it finished my dd bum.
She is 13 months now. I was using Nigerian pampers and Moflix and other gift diapers i received when i put to bed, I never experienced diaper rash. After her one yr birthday i switched to that yellow huggies and you need to see what i battled with sudocream before i decided to try another diaper and viola, d stuff disappeared.
Won't try that stuff again on my kids.
Just seeing this thanks, I'd go back to molfix

Funny enough molfix always gave my daughter diaper rash. It was recurrent until we switched to the red Huggies and now we're good.
