OK thanks, this "studienkolleg" and language school, is it at the embassy?

Noo studienkolleg is in Germany at some universities. It's for foreigners who would like to study in Germany but their certificate is not recognised.

The studienkolleg preparatory course last two semesters after which you are allowed to study in a German university

There are language schools in Nigeria like Goethe in Lagos I'm sure there are other private ones if you don't live in Lagos

He should first enroll in a language school and learn up to b1 or b2 before applying. Also note, that studienkolleg is the only option since he probably never went to university.
this language school keeps popping up and it gets me really confused...if the course of study is purely in english for bsc, does one still need the german language certification.?

Well if your course of study is in English. It's your choice to choose whether to learn German or not.

But it's always recommended to learn German before coming cause it will make life easier for you here plus job opportunities smiley

Happy weekend Forumite. The thread is somehow dry today.

Good evening house,
Please for the sake of blocked account.

Which is safer, faster and better?

- Fintibabank or
- Deutsche bank

The reason for this question is, I see a lot of people talking about using fintiba but the embassy never seem to mention it as an option for blocked account

Secondly, fintiba charges 5euros per month, but deutsche bank does.

Am confused, please can anyone advice on which to follow? Though from my research the deutsche bank seems to be a long process.

I will answer this question (The reason for this question is, I see a lot of people talking about using fintiba but the embassy never seem to mention it as an option for blocked account) with this: http://m.nigeria.diplo.de/Vertretung/nigeria/en/04-1_20Visa/Long_20term_20visa/Visa_20-_20Long_20term.html

Moreso, with fitinba you do not need to visit the embassy to open the account. I am sure you only need to fill online and it will be verified afterwards open and the necessary details will be sent to you to print out. you can then take it along to your interview I believe. You may fund it or not before interview. its your choice bro

In stand to be corrected...
Safer= DB ( maybe because everyone has used it without complaint)
Faster=Fintiba (because I tried; took me less than 48hrs)
Better=? (when they start paying me I'll let you know)
But know this...
1stly Fintiba is clearly mentioned on German Embassy website.
2ndly At a seminar held @ Goethe Institut last month by a representative of the Embassy on student visa matters & DAAD, I clearly heard it with my 2 big ears
And 3rdly the International student body coordinator of the school I got admission to via email suggested I use Fintiba because it was less stressful.
I was confused too, I have always known about Deutsch Bank and I thought Fintiba was Scam. Every one I know used DB but the 3 points above changed my mind.
I'm not marketing for anyone but to me DB is old school, its like opening a/c with Union Bank

Since it is stated it's not necessary, then you have nothing to worry about. If you are confused about the admission processes, the best person to ask is the course director; send him or her an email.

I hope this helps

Hello House, I'll really appreciate an answer to this question. Thanks.
I Just got my transcript and proof of English certificate yesterday and I want to apply for neurocognitive Psychology @ University of Oldenburg. I've read thru their requirement and I've also gleaned valuable information from uni-assist.
Now my question is: is it too late to start the application process? (deadline for international student is 15th June.)
Will this late registration as it were affect the visa application?
Please kindly help me pass this question around.
Thanks Sirs

1. You don't need to worry about exchange rate, just travel with more that enough money.

2. I have no idea, there should be private tutors.

3. You can go in with your bag and phone but your phone must be switched off for the entire time you are at the Consulate.

I hope this helps.
