Isn't the largest project in Nigeria being built by the Lebanese
Last I checked, our largest project is Konza Technocity, an initiative of the Government of Kenya
The largest project in Nigeria on every scale is not Eko Atlantic but Centenary city Abuja, just that Eco Atlantic is more popular probably because Lagos is the commercial capital.

rubbish, so does that justify high cost of it for a project of which 90% of the total cost was payed and sourced from China ,for a poor country like Kenya?,how about Abuja-kaduna sgr(198km) which cost $860 millions (not billions?), kenya - Mombasa (400km) cost a whopping $3.84 billllllllllioooooooooons.!!!!!
the whole of Nigeria sgr projects contract for the 2, 733km (now 3053km )new Lagos - Kano rail was first awarded by former Presidential Olusegun Obasanjo in 2006 at a cost of $8. 3bn to the Chinese company ( CCECC ) but could not be executed due to paucity of funds. but now going on and now $11.1billions with addition extension of calabar section and port Harcourt...kenya is damn doomed my friends , please stop comparing stations with actual construction any body can build such ,all u need is good architects and builder

u sabi well well.........bro.

Good lord, those are not ports. When are you going to learn to engage your brains first before opening that loose canon of a mouth? Those are berth or in easier terms terminals. Hahaha, Nigerians and loose mouth are like an idiot with money, they are soon parted.

That was actually the biggest until last week when it was handed over to the Government after its completion. The Mombasa-Nairobi line was Phase 1, The Phase 2 part of the project is between Nairobi-Naivasha worth 20b. It contains an internal container depot with an underground train system. Konza city which is still in its initial stages has also had a major boost after all the amenities were put in place. An electricity power substation & Water reservoir connection to the city are all complete.

The Nigerian economy is widely considered to be a mono-economy with an excessive dependence on revenue from the exploitation of hydrocarbon resources. It has been severely impacted by the recent global decline in the price of crude oil. This has caused the current administration to adopt more decisive policies to achieve a much-needed expansion of the economy. The 2016 budget has an increased focus on capital expenditure, particularly in the areas of infrastructure works, power and housing.
There is significant interest in the development of Nigeria's transportation networks including road, rail, airports and sea ports. A deep sea port with railway project connecting Calabar with Port Harcourt and Onne Deep Sea Port, estimated to cost US$3.5 billion, is currently being constructed. [/b]The recently commissioned Abuja-Kaduna rail line is one of the first standard gauge railway modernisation projects undertaken in Nigeria while the Lagos State light rail project is expected to commence operations soon. The Lagos-Ibadan expressway, one of the largest road networks in Africa, the oldest expressway and busiest inter-state route in Nigeria, is also undergoing extensive rehabilitation.
The power sector, which was privatised in 2013, continues to attract phenomenal interest from the private sector despite perceived challenges. The private sector has also shown an increased appetite for investment in real estate. Recent projects, including those listed below are all being developed through public private partnerships (PPPs). The continuing expansion of Nigeria's middle class has made investments in condominiums and shopping malls a popular choice for private capital.
In the Medium Term Expenditure Framework 2016–2018, the Government listed the following projects for implementation:
Mambila Hydro Electric Power Project (estimated to cost US$4.8 billion), which will deliver circa 3,000 MW of electricity to the National Grid.
Railway modernisation coastal project covering Calabar to Port Harcourt and Onne Deep Sea Port (estimated to cost US$3.5 billion).
The Federal Capital Territory's Mass Rail Transit Project (estimated to cost US$1.6 billion).
The Lagos to Kano Rail Modernisation Project (of which the Lagos to Ibadan segment will be double track) (estimated to cost US$1.3 billion).
The second Lagos to Kano Rail Modernisation Project (Kano to Kaduna segment will be double track) (estimated to cost US$1.1 billion).
Major projects
Recent infrastructure and construction projects in Nigeria include:
The Abuja-Kaduna Railway Project.
The Novare Lekki Mall.
Abuja Centenary City, Abuja.
Eko Atlantic City, Lagos.
World Trade Centre, Abuja.
Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos.
Abuja Millennium Tower.
The second Niger Bridge concession, in Anambra and Delta States.
Lagos State Light Rail.
The Azura-Edo 500 MW independent power project.

more prove that your president and his cabinet are criminals why would a distance of only 500km be constructed with a whopping sum of $3.9 billions?,kenya really needs new government and new system.

I don't get you, Certenary city Abuja would be a whole new city, hosting more than 400 thousand people and many more visitors, and would cost about 18 Billion Dollars.

fool, nigeria got that with only $860millions while Kenya got theirs with whopping $3.9 billions ,abuja-kaduna line is 200km while Nairobi-Mombasa line is just 400km do the calculation your self ...even Ethiopian rail was far cheaper and better The $3.4 billion project was built by two Chinese companies and is the first to be electrified in Africa.
Compare that to phase 1 of Kenya’s Standard Gauge Railway. Its cost stands at Sh367 billion(3.cool, almost the same as the Ethiopian line, but more than 100 km shorter.
That begs the questions: Has Ethiopia built an inferior line or is Kenya not getting value for money or is our money being stolen?

$860M for an SGR. Cheap infrastructure. No wonder your stations look like Barrack Dormitories and all your infrastructure look cheap. Compare Lagos infrastructure to Nairobi's - Lagos looks so cheap.

The combined population (about 130 million) of all those countries that transit cargo goes to through the mombasa port is not more than the population of Nigeria alone (180 million) .. Besides its not like Nigerian ports don't handle cargo for landlocked countries such as Niger and Chad
