So, Shervyd, if my comment above is stewpid, what makes 688's comment above smart? I intentionally made that bogus statement, just as a mockery to 68816419 false claims above, that stewpid and false notion that the Kenyan economy is run by the few, pale skinned citizens of Kenya, who enjoy all the best things this country has to offer, whilst the indigenous citizens all have their place in the squalor of the Kiberas and Mathares.

That is absolutely untrue!
Whereas it is quite true that virtually all the white people in Kenya are middle class, and that there are very few poor Asians here (whicg is the case pretty much everywhere in Africa, in any case), they are the minority race in Kenya, making up less than 15pc of the populatiom.

688's claim would there4 mean that 85% of Kenyans are poor, which is not really the case.

Kenya is not a segregated society, whereby in the urban areas, there are places exclusively for the whites, Asians, Africans etc. That is something Kenyans would not even countenance my friend, ask that Chinese who was shutting out Africans from her restuarant after certain hours in the evenings. That restuarant in Hurlingham was vandalized, and she was deported!

Kenyan Africans with means reside in all these high end suburbs in Nairobi and elsewhere in the country. Muthaiga, the Beverly Hills of Nairobi is mostly resided by blacks.....that I can tell u very straight- facedly.

Actually less than 1% of Kenyans are non-Africans so according to him 99% of Kenyans live in poverty.

hahaha..... grin grin grin grin, but u brought up a chart representing standard of living, health, educaion and population of people living below $1.25 a day. aw come u want us to talk on $1.25 only?

Shervyd, u dont understand the graph, and it is sad. You are doing badly in all those aspects u have mentioned above.

The higher up the country is in that list, the more according to that graph, there are deficiencies in terms of quality stds of living, education, health etc.
The horizontal bar represents the %age of the people lacking these services.

Geeeee, U are comparing Kenya's Konza city with Nigeria's Eko atlantic city which has gone into advanced stages.
>>>>Hope u heard of Abuja centenary city which is far bigger n more expensive than Eko atltantic? What would u say about that?
If you read about Konza technopolis, you will understand that Konza is more about the idea (ideology) than physical space, thats why their motto is "Where Africas Silicon Savanna Begins", already some of the objectives of what Konza seeks to achieve are already becoming a reality even before the city gets finished, IBM, Nokia, Philips, Qualcom have already built research labs in Kenya to use local talent to further RnD in some of there products.........
Anyway, the initial investment in Eko is $6Billion, for Konza is $14.5B Centenary is $18B so their you have it... But first understand what each city seeks to achieve, one city might with little investment might bring more to the GDP than the one with the major investment... For example you might find in future Eko contributes more to the economy than Cenetary....

Eko may be at advance stage but Konza too is not asleep
Construction for the HQ has been ongoing

on the last two pics, from the renders and from satelite image of the actual progress you can see they are following the plan exactly like on the blueprint

Oh yeah? Which makes the claims by that fella, whose handle curiously ends with 419 even more nonsensical.

Kenya is by and large a very African run economy.

Lapsset is an acronym for Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia-Transport ...coridor, Its Kenyas quest to open up a second transport coriddor...

The initial cost was $23B but a couple of new highways were added, also they decided Lamu would be built into a city for 1Million residents, so the cost shot up to $29.3 billion or approximately $30B... It includes a rew rail, oil pipeline for crude and refined oil, a refinery, new roads, all of these connected to the new port in Lamu..

Pic 1 .This was the first breakdown before they added other stuff
pic 2. Overall project map
pic 3, the pipeline evacuating crude oil from South sudan, then refining it and exporting to ethiopia and kenya and excess to outside kenya
pic 4 the highway to Ethiopia 99.9% complete, they are now doing the joint border post for faster clearance of goods..
pic 5, the first 3 berths at lamu are 20% complete

I request that u dont feel offended, for I am copying in its entireity, this to post in another thread.

Yes.

u see, they're many baseless comparisons here that's not even worth my last penny.
when it comes to basic amenities, a smaller country has an edge over the larger ones.
when it comes to infrastructural development, a larger country has an edge over smaller ones.
when it comes to security, a smaller country has an edge over a larger one.
when it comes to human development, a smaller country has an edge over larger ones.
when it comes to economical matters, a larger country has an edge over smaller ones.
it goes on and on...........

now, do u know that if Kenya( 3rd world country ) compares with the almighty USA in terms of crime rate, Kenya will rank better?
if that same Kenya compares with Djibouti or any other smaller country in term of that same crime...Djibouti will rank better.

same goes with Nigeria and so many 3rd world countries..........

okay, look at the HDI for example....
* Nigeria at 152nd(low hdi)
* Kenya at 146st (medium hdi)
* Ghana at 139th(medium hdi)
do u know that Kenya still fare better in terms of development than Ghana?
everything's just insane, man........lets just be proud to be Africans and forget about trash.

--- hope I'm not stepping on our Ghanaian friends toe.

Lol, try searching Kenya on this site and you'll see. I actually signed up after seeing too many negative stories about Kenya and wanted to help people see the right perspective. To make it worse most of the bad-mouthing of Kenyans here stems from false stories from some shady blogs. lol

I disagree with every of your point here. Nigeria is better in virtually everyway than so many tiny countries here in Africa, there is no correlation btwn the size of the country and the level of development. It all narrows down to.......governance. Good and effective governance. Compare China and E. Guinea.

Anyway, as per your request, I will let this matter go, provided 68816419 doesnt repeat that again.

You have better internet but you're still here on a Nigerian website based here in Nigeria. I don't think I have ever been on or seen a Kenyan site before.

The main reason why we have so many Kenyans is because of the shit you guys have been posting about Kenya.

Nigerians are one bunch of clueless bimbos... most probably the furthest you have gone is your village square. How do I expect you to know this when you are currently on a borrowed phone using your neighbors generator to charged it since NEPA is non existent in your village.

Its either Nigerians are idiots or simply blind. Hahaha, thats why when other Africans tell you the plain truth the line of defence is always we are a big population(which is actually true, with a big open toilet). As the saying goes Nigeria is one big poo hole.
