How long will it take for the hair to grow back that shaving it is a cause for so much worry?

The pain is what I can't imagine. Muslim parents won't agree , it nust be done.

My little cousin hair can only be compared to scanty corn, she only has hair on her middle head.

Interesting. My baby is six months old and still got hair light and curly like the day she was born. The growth rate is pretty slow but very long; my wife insists we leave it so. Personally I don't believe that whole cutting of hair at one if there isn't any specific reason why.

My lil cousin was born very fair with curly hair like a mixed kid. Then they cut his hair, i was pissed i swear, especially as d hair reset to black normal hair. I wont cut my kid's hair sha.

For me, it depends on the hair, some babies don't don't start growing hair on all parts of the head at the same time. For example my daughter is 8 months old but the hair behind the head and the corners in front didn't start growing on time so we need to cut it at one so all can start growing and blend together, asides that there won't have been any reason to barb her hair.

My Ist daughter is almost 11 years old, while my 2nd daughter is 8 years old and since I gave birth to them till date, their hair has not been cut. My mom told me then that the hair will fall off if I don't cut it, my nosy aunt in the US said the same thing but today they both have natural beautiful long hair that my 2nd daughter is even complaining that it is too thick to comb and I should cut it cos its too full. (No plans to use hair relaxer till further notice)

All in all follow your heart and do what you feel is right for your kids.

They are always having stories that are not backed up. I have a friend that never had his hair cut, he had very nice long hair, had to cut it tho cos his school insisted. My grandma tild me that some sort of stuff will start growing in the hair and i just told her that it could only b cos they didnt take care of the hair, i asked if she had ever seen the stuff growing or it was just they said, she replied that she had never seen it but that she was not taking risk.

That's one of the things i hate with passion. Don't try that shit with any of my kids when God blesses me with them.

I don't have problem with boys being shaved but I am of the opinion that girls should have hair not shaved. I love it when I see a cute babies with beautiful hair styles.

It is superstition. I didn't touch my Son's hair until he was 3 or so. Caused his afro looked so cute on him and I cut my daughter,s hair after 2 or so. The Major reason is to cut the Baby hair and alllow her hair grow proper. But there are others that don't even touch their kids hair so you have to make your own choice

Well,i dont know about superstition, my 2year old baby's hair is uneven at birth,to make up for this,i and her mum decided to shave it all off to get a better result..well,it seems the decision paid off,as her hair is growing all over..just a reason why parents cut their kid's hair.

not everyone consider it as superstition. To my mum, she hates hair. She consider it to be load hence removes it from the children. The more the hair the more she feels it will inconvenient the child. As a guy, the air that touches my skull after a clean shave knows no limit.

My 2 daughters are 6 & 4yrs old now. No razor /scissors has ever touched their hair. When I was told that tradition demanded that I cut their hair after one year, I told everyone off and advised them to mind their own business and leave my kids alone.

Now, they do not need Hair attachments when they braid their hair and when we go out, everyone admires their long hair.

what they said is true,it happened to my kid sister,my mum didn't cut her hair after one year cos she looked so cute on it,but after few months,her hair started falling off,my mum had to cut it,maybe it differs from individuals

Those alfas won't carry a baby that is not shaven oo for naming they shave it if its not shaven before they can do the Islamic naming proper, Although I have seen the one that was shaved carefully but just can't risk it ni sharp razor on a delicate skin.

Those that scrape at one year, that one is better at least the baby's head is a bit strong, some do cut the whole hair after about a year if one part of the head grows and another bald with the belief that when growing again everywhere will grow with hair, at least that one is understandable. This is the first time I am hearing of the 1st year hair cutting tradition sef, so whether the hair is evenly distributed or not they will cut the hair chai na wa oo.

Even a boy child hair I think should not be cut until the scalp is strong enough.

My friend didn't shave her son's hair till he was a year. Few months after birth the hair was still curly and soft, as time went on the hair became hard and the boy wouldnt allow anyone comb or touch his hair. He boy started scratching his hair. The hair was thick and hard. When the hair was later shaved they noticed the boy's skull hadn't form so well. His head/scalp was soft like dt of a new born baby. After the shave, she bathed her and she said her boy slept all through the night.

Got a 4yr old niece, never shaved her hair. You need to see her full-blown ebony hair..

I don't believe in it so I never cut my baby hair, but for my baby boy I did but he was even more than 5months then . Follow your heart and do what makes you comfortable.
