is mississauga close to toronto? do they have IT jobs there (mississauga) as well? Fusion23: |
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Fusion23: 5:03pm On Jun 05, 2017 |
czaratwork: I do not live in Toronto or Mississauga, its close by thou they have a term call GTA , google will explain better , as for jobs google and LinkedIn will help you too. As for studies after PR, 90 percent of jobs do not required M.sc or PHD, but it sure helps as Canadian experience. Work experience and skills are the main thing. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

czaratwork: Sauga city and Toronto city are literary side by side. Mississauga is the largest suburb in Toronto and part of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). There are IT jobs in Mississauga because a lot of corporate headquarters are located here. However, it is nothing compared to the number of IT jobs in say downtown Toronto. And yeah, IT is all about experience mehn. Companies don't really fancy Masters and PhD that much. |

salford:Just a week or two ago. I mentioned the surge in crime rate within and around Calgary. We need to be vigilant and watch out for ourselves. https://www.nairaland.com/3842789/nigerian-immigrant-stabbed-death-calgary 3 Likes |

salford1: @Salford1 My nieces are planning to study in Calgary. With these crime stories I have read, I worry it isn't safe for them there. Now I am torn between Vancouver and Toronto. Calgary was their first choice How "safe" is Toronto and Vancouver compared to Calgary? |
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by salford1: 3:53am On Jun 06, 2017 |
WellEndowed:They don't have to worry at all. All the cities you listed are relatively safe just like most cities or towns in Canada... I would not let crime rate decide what city I move too. My family resides in Calgary even though i work in a different province....Infact..Bow Valley College is located downtown Calgary..and lots of people work in the CBDs. One just need to be vigilant and careful... e.g I remember changing coaches many times when I used the C-train at night (once I see a very drunk person or someone that looks high on drugs in my coach). I also sometimes cross to a different side of the road when I see someone that looks unkempt or a junkie/druggie walking towards me. One just have to be careful these days. Downtown crimes are mostly committed by aborigines...there are free fare zones and drop-in centers around downtown of most cities, so you find junkies in large numbers around such places begging for coins or cigarretes.. Crimes outside downtown are most times drug war related. 5 Likes |

deesmom:Downtown would be central business district. A good example is where you have alot of tall buildings in lagos...isale eko. Almost every city in North America would have a downtown. Even the very small ones of say 10,000 people. 9 Likes 1 Share |

theafk: I was thinking same when I first read his posts days ago. Someone I know was duped years ago by an agent with this same two year Australian work visa crap. I warned him against it and told him Nigerians are not eligible for work visa. I even sent him a link of the countries eligible. He refused to listen and told me the agent "had told him" that the list I sent was an old one and there is an updated one. Oya show me the updated one naaa. Agent couldn't. Said the Australian Government hadn't published yet. So how did agent get the list? .He lost over 2 million naira. Nigerians are so gullible. Simple research could have saved him millions of naira. Even when they see the proof, they still choose to ignore it. 21 Likes 1 Share |

WellEndowed:Most people do not learn until they have first hand experience. They believe you are trying to stop their shine and dissuade them from traveling abroad meanwhile you are just trying to help them. Also, some people are so lazy to learn and research on what they are being offered. They just want to be spoon fed and thus end up in the hands of con men. God help us all. 8 Likes |

likeababygirl: Some of them still do not learn. The eediot got his mum to call my mother yelling at her because we didn't guide her son right. How else can you guide an adult male? Is he a kid? Typical Nigerians. Blaming others for their mistakes. Such people never learn 10 Likes |
