I'm sure they won't mind. Why he has to force them not to fast is what should baffle sane mind.

Obviously, he feels them fasting will affect their performance on the pitch which is very likely. But i think he made the wrong call by compelling them to go against their belief. The players themselves are supposed to opt out without being told.

Am not a fan of allowing religious belief take the first place in serious 'business' decisions; be it Christian, Muslim or pagan.

What level of planning did the coach observe for the game?
The coach knew they'd be on Ramadan fast this point in time, why go ahead to invite them for the games when others that he could have used were available but uninvited??

Muslim players play matches while fasting. The players are not complaining. Ibrahimovich, Ozil, Khedira etc they all fast on match days during Ramadan. As a matter of fact Ahmed musa scored twice in the last game while fasting so what's the coach's issue about him fasting?
