Almost two years after the celebrated launching of Ogoni cleanup by Nigeria Government ,

but so far only 1% of necessary funds are available.

Our investigations found that extensive visible pollution still remains at 4 oil spill sites identified

This is a serious env issue that needs priority attention. The FG, SHELL and UNEP should cooperate on this issue so that, the necessary remediation measures will be taken.
The clean-up was flagged off about 2 yrs ago by the FGN. But since then, the clean up operation is yet to commence. If only the partners in this project hv genuine interest & concern for the welfare of the affected people and the environment, the issue of logistics wud hv bn timely resolved. By now, contractors wud hv mobilised to affected sites. The training of personnel (responders) wud hv bn done speedily, taking into consideration, the negative environmental impact of the oil spill as it affects both life and property. Our govt seems to care less about the masses. If am the President of this country, hw wl i go to sleep wt my 2 eyes closed when an issue of this magnitude is staring at me? Bt no, they don't really care. I blame OBJ @ PDP so much for ignoring the sufferings of people affected by the oil spill. Ogoni leaders shud ACT!

In all my years on earth, I have never seen a ponzi scheme as legal as the Nigerian government under APC. Omo I troway salute.

Ama babe, this ur sarcasm dey expensive o. Blockheads will swallow it whole failing to reason say most of the S-S oil wealth revenue sef was mismanaged under predominantly North/SW rule.

Now money nor dey anywhere to be found because another Northern dead-brain is mismanaging stuffs away with the approval of zombies who keep lying to themselves as usual. At the current pace, i can safely say that clean-up will be completed in the next century.

If Goatluck Jonaddaft had made 1% available during his looting years, by now we would hold Buhari in the neck to make more available. But, since Buhari is just laying the foundation for the clean-up, we have to encourage him. If your Ijaw brother could not do anything for 6 years, you have no justification to hold a Fulani man on the neck to clean-up your environment.
