Good day guys. Please I need a quick information. I'm currently filling the DS160 form and there's an information of my sponsor who happens to be my father but he's currently in the US as a citizen. Please is it ideal to put his contact information on the form? Does it affect my chances of getting the visa considering his present location. Please guys your feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. smiley

Yes you're good to go. Your 3.65/5 is more than 3.0/4.0. It should be in the range of 3.1-3.2/4.

Sure you can put it. Just be truthful and honest in your interview. You can say your dad is a citizen and he's your sponsor. You shouldn't have an issue.

Please what's the best option? My family is here (well, apart from my father) and I have a good business I run plus I was given a study leave from my office. Please what suggestion is applicable in this situation?

Good day nairalanders, I just stumbled on this thread and i need serious help. I want to start my admission processing and I've gone through this entire thread from part 7 and I still don't get how I'm supposed to begin. I'm applying for bsc at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, University of Minnesota, Morgan state University and University of Arkansas pine bluff. I have OND with 3.04 GPA from yabatech and was told it's equivalent to an associate degree but I'll rather just start afresh. My initial plan was to use an agent but seeing as they rip people off now, im prepared to do it on my own. So my questions are;
*what is the first step I should take? Should I write toefl exam before applying to the school or apply first?
*how should I write application to the school and how do i go about paying the non-refundable application fee? I would appreciate all the help I can get right now cos I'm confused and still contemplating using an agent. Sorry for my long post but please help a sister out. Thanks!

I don't understand the dilemma. You seem to be fishing for someone to tell you to make up a story. Present the facts as they are. Tell the truth. It's that simple.

Well I believe if Dad's a citizen then the guy can apply for Immigrants visa. And it's about being truthful, and the VO knows he could have lied and said his dad is in Nigeria. So since he's eligible for an immigrants visa I think I don't see where saying Dad in the US is a sponsor an issue. I've seen transcripts here and MSinUS where this was the same issue and visa was granted without many many questions. But then what do I know, you're the queen bee

We don't have to Google his father's name. We would already know his father's name and we would know he is a citizen.

Hello guyz, Pls how do I get DHL to pick up my i20 from a NewYork address and send it to Lagos.
Also, can I fill my student visa application form without having my i20 form in hand?
Finally can I fill and complete my visa application form without paying for SEVIS fee yet?
Will it be advisable for me to pay my SEVIS fee through the USA or from nigeria?
Thanks.

Why not Nigeria since we badly need such rather than develop a system that is already fully developed?

There are some truth we should know that will set us free. Our leaders in power ain't ready for that because there are afraid for their secret to be exposed, but those who wanted to die before their time should come and do it and I haven't seen them coming to do for the past 5 years

I learnt that a politican in this country many year ago advised FG not to spend money on festac 77 but spend it on technology instead of wasting that hug money on what won't develop the country but FG refused and up till now we still suffer for it and majority of them who are in power then are still in power and none have never reason of such dream like that
