Funny. Obodo and Rabiu are not fit enough to polish Jay-Jay's boot. Oruma pass them wella. Simple, great players are hard to replace. Spain producing another Xavi will take time.

England producing another Scholes might take another fifty years.

Skill for skill, those guys are extremely skillful. If they played in football in the 80s and early 90s, they would have been better appreciated.
If you ever watched Obodo AND Rabiu you will understand what I am saying.

I have watched both, they do not reach Ebiede (Waist Breaker), talk less of Oruma and then Okocha.

Were you in camp with Osimhen to know if he justified the call-up? Rohr is the one in camp who worked with Osimhen and was the one who felt the young man deserves another call-up.

What A Gwan O ye Babylonian?

So Osimhen was invited to camp because of what Rohr saw of him last year?
He was invited on the back of his form in training last year?

This is exactly the reason why I said some players have cult followership on this thread.
At the mention of the name Osimhen, common sense fly out of the window.

The camp of the Super Eagles of Nigeria will have as many as 13 players later this evening as six players left Abuja around 2pm today for Uyo.

Nigeria are stepping up preparations for Saturday AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa, with full training ahead of the clash set to begin tomorrow when most of the players would have arrived the camp of the team.

The first badge of players to arrive the camp were seven in numbers lead by captain Ogenyi Onazi, John Ogu, Henry Onyekuru, Victor Osimhen, Daniel Akpeyi, Olarewaju Kayode and Dele Alampasu were all among the first callers.

Meanwhile Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Ibrahim Alhassan all left Abuja around 2pm Nigerian time for Uyo.

They are expected to arrive the camp of the team before 6pm, with every other player invited expected to fly in for the Saturday clash later tonight.

If you spend time reading Rohr's comments you will know he rates Osimhen highly. Also Awaziem. There is this saying that only the Manager knows how good a player is for him. Unfortunately, you chose to toil in your own view when you did not even see barb wire of the camp.

Rohr stated that he did not invite Awaziem and Osimhen to later camps because he did not want them going through repeated rejections.

That alone is enough for a Babylonian to know the coach rates Osimhen highly and will not flinch. Yet, you want to show us you know more than the German tactician.

What a gwan O ye Babylonian?

Kayode was on the original list. Onyekuru wasn't.. Onyekuru scored a blinder that weekend and was added to the list.

The point is we are making conclusions from a limited set of variables. Rohr has seen Osimhen severally and is convinced about what he can offer.

The coach can only invite a limited number of players. Odey was invited and was dropped for Osimhen. Does that not give you a clue of how highly the coach rates him?

Austria Vienna striker Olarenwaju Kayode will not train with the national team in Corsica this coming month ahead of the African Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in June, barring any last minute changes.
The former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles star may be in the form of his life but this has not impressed manager Gernot Rohr and his assistants one bit.
Kayode and his camp embarked on a media campaign after he was left out of the Super Eagles squad for the international friendly against Senegal in March, before he was handed a late call-up by the Nigerian Federation just to keep the peace.
The 23-year-old failed to justify his invitation during the training sessions and the match on March 23 against the West Africans, and has been omitted from the latest roster.
He tallied his 19th and 20th goal of the season in Austria Vienna's 4-1 rout of Sturm Graz on Saturday.

With so much talents popping up I don't think Rohr will do our football good if he just takes hold of what is available now without laying foundation for the future. If he doesn't do that our potential dominance would be shortlived. Why is it so difficult to just fold our arms and watch in this Osimhen issue. What if he turns out good for us? What if not? Both ifs can only be settled when the young man is tested. Their arguments is that at this stage he ought not to be tested at all. Tomorrow beckons, brothers.
Most fans don't understand what it means to build for the future. Check our squad to the world cup, how many are still in the team today? That's what short sightedness has caused. Instead of consolidating, we're building from scratch.

I haven't had the opportunity to watch any of the games.

But from watching these players and thier performances in whatever league they find themselves. If I was to make an informed guess about my expected projected performance level for each of these players. Your assessment would be more or less what I would expect.

Solanke us off the boil and in one post I suggested that Ike Ugbo is seemingly ahead of him as Tega Abrahams Haa left him behind.

Fikayo didn't do much in the championship and at youth level he would probably shine somewhat. Seyi Ojo has a very limited skill set in his approach play I would have had a much lower expectation.

The other Tega at this level will boss the midfield not suprised. Ademola has an eye for goal and low centre of gravity can be dangerous.

Ovie has not learned to dictate the pace he needs to be much more positively aggressive.

When I get back to England I will look at games.

Well, Lookman has been playing strongly so far..

Kayode have always been neglected from the NT because of the buisness gone sour with former Nff boss, Taiwo Ogunjobi. It wouldn't surprise me if what the initial reports read was true.

No comment until I see the matches with my korokoro eyes because I no trust the way people take watch their ball come analyse. grin

However, based on my previous examination on them, this is how I rate them.

Lookman
Solanke grin
Onomah
Sheyi

I have not really seen Ovie and Fikayo but until den that is my rating. grin

Those boys can displace most of the players in the Super Eagles with ease. grin

Hehehe.. you don come again.. only Lookman can drag one of the super eagles wing position as a 2nd or 3rd option.. if he should play against the aggressive indomitable lions, they will break his legs within few mins. They cant bench anybody in this our current SE team with ease.

See Kante fa? Fabregas complained one time. Even Eric Contona has a video on YouTube where he complained about this. Is it that the 10's slow down the game or what is the reason for them being shoved out? No wonder music is gone out of football. Maestro means the grand conductor of the orchestra and so were the great 10's- pure musicians hitting the right chords with their footwork and mobile poetry. Once Messi(the last glimmer of light on the football skies) hangs boot that might be the end of an era. Do you like watching old football? I do oo.

onomah was redcarded today what can you say about that?

Unnecessary yellow card is different from the red card the gave Onomah and likely FIFA might withdraw the red card.. Onomah's first yellow card was a well deserved yellow card. The second yellow card that led to the red card was a clear wrong call.

Rohr wants us to shine and shine for long. We were so enthralled with the first golden generation so much so that when eventually they hung their boots it was discovered that the emperor was naked. That accounted for the time we spent wandering in the wilderness from 2002 - 2015. Truth is we were fortunate to have won Afcon 2013. After that what happened? Rohr is good for the growth and development of our football.
