I wish my gf while I was in Cape Town had ur mentality, we wld have been happily married and living in Nigeria :-)

Just like someone suggested, Naija job portals are ur best bet. If u have a certification u can defend, u'll get a call back.

Never mind the earlier hostility, I've lived in SA to know they're not all Xenophobic. Please come.
one does not simply leave SA for Nigeria, talk less of somebody who lives in CPT,the most beautiful city in the whole of SA.It would be very foolish for anyone to call South Africans xenophobic based off the fact that we refuse to relocate to other African countries

Stashed up exes... I've decided that once I go back, no rekindling oo. Yes but some good relations was formed.

Hi @bisi16
Right on, I bet your girl would've loved Nigeria and probably would be in agreement that it has a great energy (compared to Cape Town). Black folks are struggling in comparison to white folks in the Western Cape. It's sad really. Though CPT is beautiful, hands down. Aluta continua. It is well

Let me push some more on the portals! Thanks

Totally agree with u, and she would have gotten a job quite easily here coz she's a qualified Chef. Indeed life in CPT is lopsided sadly. Anyways, wish u all d best.

[quote author=afrikanbabe post=57205285]Hello Nairalanders,

I am a South African woman very interested in relocating to Lagos, Nigeria. I've lived in the country before so I'm quite familiar with the people, food and culture. I love the energy in Nigeria despite the hardships.
I would like to find out how South Africans living in Nigeria get their jobs, via international recruiters or friends or how? Also, how easy is it to organize the right papers? I am not looking to marry for green card oo... unless genuine love is concerned.

So any advice or leads, I'd really appreciate. Thank you folks [/quoy

You'll do well if you apply to SA companies in Nigeria. Generally ,Nigerians like foreigners. You should do well in Nigeria.

Hello again,

What sort of job are you looking for and what kind of qualifications do you possess?

Tosin

Hello @tosintonero
Thank you for your feedback.
I firmly stand by the fact that not alll Nigerians are the same. We are all individuals and can choose to either be good or bad.
I'm on it, in terms of using my social capital for finding jobs. It's still tricky though as I haven't signed anything yet. I've messaged a lot of people in 'my circle' so I'm just being positive really. My leads haven't been on posts on jobberman and co, but really wanted to get something concrete before relocating.

This caught my attention; my field.

Start your job search by applying to Agencies in Nigeria. They have a knack for hiring foreigners in this field.

Try C&F Porter Novelli for a start.

Hey Ademat,

I already have a registered business but like I said, I want to be based in Lagos. The company is not making any money though. No funding yet

Hello @Pidgin2

I appreciate your response and advice.
I've been applying at Nigerian based companies and slowly but surely.

I have also searched jobberman, ngcareers, and google like no other. I'll search through Nigeria Galleria as well, thanks.

I believe it will work out. I've been praying

to be frank with you, I will advice forget jobberman,

anyway it depends on ur field of specialist, there are a number of online recruiters based in Ikeja, and Victoria inland, even gbagada, , Such as PWC,

but don't go through jobberman

Hey do4luv14

Thanks for the advice. Maybe you're right, I haven't had any leads on jobberman yet.
Which online recruiters are based in VI?
Is PWC one of the online recruiters?

Many thanks

Hey there lexy2014,

I have to agree with you. The average SA'n does not want to get outside their country, let alone travel up on the continent. If anything, it's maybe our close neighboring countries then maybe the US or Europe (for those with the cash moolah). But there's a special few who are really interested in visiting countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Benin Republic, São Tomé... I could go on.
