That's one of the Combattantte missile boats.

After the mine-hunters were brought back to service, the Nigerian navy sent in two more combatantte missile boats to the dock.

They are almost done with thier overhaul as we can see from this photo.

4 policemen and one civilian died,i believe alshabaab used a massive IED to destroy that CS/VP3 MRAP. just as Taliban did to american/british cougar/mastiff MRAPS.we can nolonger really on the armour of this MRAP's for protection,we need army EOD teams to constantly sweep roads prone to IED attacks(the fools in kenya, are now claiming every equipment bought from china is fake)anyone has a link that hows south africa helped in the development of CS/VP3 MRAP.

You need an electronic ground surveillance system, drone surveillance and quick air reaction to nail Alshabaab when they're spotted trying to plant IEDs.... As well, you need to invest in electronic warfare systems to jam remote detonated IEDs.

It's a small investment to save lives and win a PR war.

I remember back in 2011, Peccavi, a British soldier of Nigerian descent who used to comment on Beegeagle's blog, said while serving in Afghanistan, soldiers driving in MRAPs had a mentality of feeling invincible in these vehicles.

According to him, reality showed this isn't the case.

MRAPs can provide some protection against IEDs, but "what happens when they up the explosive content?"........... You get situations such as the above or what the Turks faced against the PKK, with BMC MRAPs dancing ballet in the air.

No equipment works 100%, it is simply not realistically possible.

From a Nigerian perspective, i can say our CS/VP3 MRAPs have performed solidly in combat. Do some people even understand how conflict works, or they base thier knowledge primarily on Call of Duty and American propaganda war movies?
