@paprazzi1987 Good evening and many thanks for your post. Let me back track a bit with specific reference to the gcms notes you shared. Whilst I understand the VO's point, I believe that this situation depicts a host trying to apply for his/her spouse (SOWP) and dependent child (status as applicable). In other words, both spouse and child are accompanying dependents of a full time international student. And usually, as stated on CIC website, a full time international student desirous of bringing over his/her spouse and child to Canada is required to show minimum additional funds of 4k (spouse) cad and 3k (per dependent child). That includes the international student's already established 10k cad living expenses plus tuition for atleast one year.

My question and where I struggle to understand in this instance (whilst I understand all other points raised by the VO for this applicant), is that please why should the VO refer to LICO (in this instance 37,650 cad for a family of 3 wanting to live in other provinces other than Quebec)? LICO is usually referenced for PR applicants or family sponsorship applicants (in this case the PA is already on PR status or a citizen).

Please if you have more clarity, i'd love to learn.

I am the host in this case and my wife and son are the applicants.
I also had the impression that I don't need much funds as an international student until they got refused.
If I hadn't requested for case files I would still have the impression that I have enough funds to back up my family applications.
We don't know what the VO thinks but the best thing to do Is to try as much as possible in satisfying all righteousness.

The idiots VO that treated their applications fails to see that I have paid all my tuition fee and that was my last semester in school; I show the tuition statement and letter from school that I am not owing anything.

Anyways, I an waiting for my postgraduate work permit which will be out by next week before I refire.

@ Markab, and all other good people here, good evening and happy weekend. Please for those that recently applied for sowp via paper route, have you been able to link you application to your online CIC profile?

I've not been able to link my wife's app but have successfully linked my child's application.

When completing the 'Application for work permit made outside Canada' form, there's a section for your name (family name and given names) and another section to capture your maiden name as well as given names. Although the validated form of course picks the family and given names provided as stated on your international passport, could the other maiden name stated in the section provided for it be the reason for one's inability to link the form?

Please assist with some steps that have worked for you

For those who wish to link their paper apps online....This is a step by step approach; i ve asked how to do this severally but no one cared to answer...here it is.



(1) Go to this below listed link
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp
(2) Click on continue to Gckey
(3) If You've already account created, login with your Username and Password otherwise Click on Sign up to go on next page and create your username, password and security questions.
(4) After creating my CIC account, click link application to this account.
(5) Then select category as Temporary residence and subcategory as Study Permit and extension.
(6) Then select Family name, given name and date of birth option.
(7) Fill your family name(surname), given name and date of birth as per Passport or Application form.
(8.) Next in applicant personal info panel fill Passport information only and DO NOT FILL CITY AND COUNTRY OF BIRTH.
(9) Enter your course start date given on your offer letter exact same as that.
(10) Enter course end date as on offer letter only month and year is given so enter that only don't select the date.
(11) Enter your DLI no. same as given on the offer letter.
(12) Next search for your application.
(13) Your application will be found and can be linked.
(14) You can get real time updates on your paper application online.

I was getting errors and tried the same with mine and it worked so hopefully it ll work for everyone.

Note : In 24 hours you can try only 5 times to link your application and if you exceed that then you have to wait for 24 hours, so be careful about that.
