This company looks like sink to me. Their building on Oba Akran is a write off, the company's website is also a write off. Always reminds me of the company I heard that didn't have physical address yet was flying in NSE during 2007 era.

That coy has been consistent in paying dividend.
Learn Africa is former longman publishing. They base on educational books and books sell most in first term. The coy should be able to do more than it is doing if not for piracy. 80% of their books sold are pirated copies and the company is doing nothing to fight pirates.

Emmaewumi,
Please shed more light on this nipco acquisition deal.
How is share acquisition from minority shareholders done?
I am exposed here and dont want to hear stories that touch since they will be delisting.

Also, Exxon Mobil( upstream) won bids in equatorial guinea. Do you think it will impact Mobil ( distribution coy listed) in any way? Since exxon Mobil is the mother coy of Mobil, esso exploration and the other 3rd coy.

More reason you should do further DD.

Despite the N417.20 sure banker price, the market price closed on Offer today at N288.56. Implying that discerning investors are not buying becos they could have been hinted that NIPCO would not be compelled under any law to accept to buy all the units offered to them. It is also possible the MTO is to fulfill regulatory "righteousness".

Further DD is required to avoid been stucked grin grin #myopinion

Let me check and see how this was done with ashaka cement.

But one thing I remember is that when it was announced in ashaka cement. Ppl didn't take action till close to the announced date. What I can't remember is if the stock was delisted on the date and later relisted.

They will obviously not go for 100%, maybe 75% to 90% but not every investor is also willing to sell as it is going to be run as a separate entity as NIPCO said.
In the long run the stock will become scarce as NIPCO's shares will not be traded.

Remember the difference between a poor man and a rich man is opportunity.if a poor man is opportune like the rich man,he will also be rich.In the stock market, risk means opportunity. Most people you see jubilating today including me have been here for a long time now.some bought fbn over 8 months now when there was no hope in the stock,i bought mine in different occasions when people were not interested over the stock.

As a beginner, you joined fidelity train when most have made over 50% profit. You didnt come in late because, the banks are undervalued.most of them are trading below their book value e.g fidelity, fcmb, diamond etc.In a recovering economy, banks are winners.Relax my brother, even if the stock does not move again this week, bear in mind the stock is heading to #2.00.What i will not like to hear from you tomorrow(why is fidelity not moving very fast?).

Remember we have been here for a long time waiting for a time like this. Those who came earlier will also smile first before the later ones.

The Central Bank of Nigeria on Monday introduced new rules into the interbank foreign exchange market.

This came barely one week after the naira closed below 370/dollar on the parallel market.

The rules were contained in a new circular tagged, “Further liberalisation of the interbank foreign exchange market,’’ and signed by the Director, Financial Markets, Dr. Alvan Ikoku.

Among other things, the regular said authorised dealers in the interbank were meant to put only N1 spread on their transactions.

It also said that authorised dealers in the forex market could now defease their excess foreign currency trading positions to other authorised dealers in the market without seeking prior approval from the CBN

It read in part, “All authorised dealers shall be subject to a maximum spread of N1. Funds purchased by an authorised dealer from another dealer on the interbank market shall not be held in position overnight by the buying authorised dealer or sold to another authorised dealer.”

i dont know about fcmb and fidelity but as for diamond bank and how the price recovered from full offer at 1.21 to bounce back and close at 1.28, i strongly doubt it will get this low of 1.21 again.

What happens if NIPCO ends up not buying my own shares, considering it will be delisted (not sure though.)?
Any set minimum quantity by NIPCO from investors?

...Diamond Bank had impressive close today. However, candlestick indicates almost indecision on the stock. The stock therefore requires ongoing strong sentiment to drive it upward, otherwise a re-test of at least 1.21 is most likely in future trading periods considering the fact that price is sitting on resistance also.

Though when it comes to Indians I don't trust them.. they are the most dubious people I ever know. Though they are trailing the Lebanese... grin

That said, I am not certain if they can do that.. The one of Larfarge Ashaka MTO comes to mind. In this minority buy-out, minority shareholders were asked to fill and submit to the registrar for processing which yours truly did and got my shares and share exchange. However, the flaw I noticed was that payment was not made on the date promised but was still paid.

So, I don't think they won't fulfill their promise because the regulator will sanction them.
