This is for those claiming the North is contributing nothing to the Economy. Don't allow emotions to drive you, follow the facts. The Oil is only feeding the elites, agriculture contributes almost one-third of employment. Most people in Nigeria live in rural communities and they are mostly farmers. How many Nigerians work in oil companies?

You are right, almost same reason our economy was still good when oil was yet to be discovered.
This is the same reason the North has two of Forbes Billionaires and ironically both are agrobusiness men more than anything else, Dangote is just getting into oil and gas now, but has long been the richest from cement and Agriculture.
Agriculture also contributes the highest to our GDP till date despite the neglect by Government since the discovery of oil. Oil has made us lazy.
I am more interested in Dangote's fertilizer plant( which is almost complete now) than l am in the oil refinery.

Exactly, l don't think Dangote has dominated every top aspect of the economy as some insinuate, though l understand where Marcelo is coming from, it's just that his projects are more intimidating and his ambition is something else. Dangote even bought the best gas firm from Holland, which means when his refinery begins operation, these guys may have no choice but to place their headquarters in Lagos under Dangote, and even build more gas plants across the nation. The guy is not afraid of doing big things, and today he is thinking of becoming the largest exporter of rice in the world by 2021, and has started making plans to that effect and still thinking of buying Arsenal. Even with the restrictions on Zimbabwe, Dangote visited Mugabe and had talks of building a 400 million dollar cement plant there, Lol.
