Really! Yesterday, I met someone who lived in Kenya Nairobi for a very long time. He was shocked when he went to Victoria Island. He saw beautiful tall buildings, lakes, sea, developed bridges etc but he said our mails is child's play when it comes to Nairobi's malls due to the mall he saw at Ikeja (though among the smallest).

Nairobi has only 8 skyscrapers completed and topped (but 2 are carcasses) while Lagos has 9 skyscrapers ( with another while one is almost topped out) completed and topped out.

While Nairobi highrise is less than Lagos.

To me, I think the only way a foreigner would make it big here is to create a big investment which requires a good study of the area and what they may likely need/patronize cos the competition here is much, you can't stand or survive it unless you got too much money, as for small scale businesses...they are much here already, there is a large market and one would make it big if they bring in something new entirely which isn't well known, then subsidize the price, if it enters the market and people get to patronize it, you sure heading to be a millionaire in no time so in my own point of view, there are various opportunities but too much competition.

Reason many migrate to other smaller countries where the competition isn't as intense as to dominate the market there, you won't go to where you can't exploit..

no, I don't need a rethink.......most articles and sites I check placed Nairobi ahead of Lagos with slight margin. its not as if its faaaaar developed than Lagos as u're thinking. but then, it is. the only Nigerian city placed above Nairobi is Abuja.
