Afam4eva:Total trash. FYI the economy of the east is locked! How can the businesses work 100% when the FEDERAL roads are so bad, it takes 3 to four days to ship the goods from Lagos to that place? If the calabar port was working like that of Lagos, do you think it will be so difficult to set up a business there, what of that of Portharcort or Warri? why should we go ALL THE WAY to Lagos to ship your goods to your home town while there are ports a stone throw away left right and center? But still the market in onitsha is the biggest market in west africa, it is bigger than some towns in Africa. Now they are talking about rail, but suspiciously the SE was not put there because they have ulterior motives, even if it will be the most viable, because of the volume of goods and people that will move from point a to point b. Our economy is locked because they want to punnish us for trying to exit this fraud called nigeria, thst is why our people are moving out, before the genocide, did you hear such stories? It is on record that the eastern region had the best infrastructures in Subsaharan Africa at that time, you might say what then were our people doing in northern Nigeria that they were killed in such a large number? What then was the hausa man in Enugu was doing when our people in Enugu elected him MAYOR? It simply means that there were also many Hausa people there, for one reason or the other. So your argument is invalid, this is why Nigeria has refused to progress, because the one holding us down is equally holding himself down. 2 Likes |

Abagworo: This comment you made has more sense in it than all your comments since being on nairaland. Anyways, am beginning to notice that you now have this pro Igbo sense like it should be. I guess your master Rochas have started realising who the Northerners are right? All the same, everything you said here is truth. Like you rightly pointed out, Southern minorities have this feeling that we want to dominate them. Lol. For what kwanu? My only problem with this Biafran thingy is just this access to Sea. Finish. If we can Build airports in Igboland, Construct Ports that will go through Rivers state... I believe the sky will be our limit! |

IgboticGirl:my own is its not as easy as you say it......on like other countries individuals own land in Nigeria.... we all know igbos are always fighting over land... during my service i was in a LGA with only one atm..... just because individuals are not willing to sell their land for banks to be built |

Ugomba:even the north's desert land is good for growing beans. just stand by the Niger bridge and see how much food goes from north to south. am sure in the last week you must have eaten food grown in the north. if it was not so the igbo traders that go to the north to bring food down south will not do it cause they are wise enough to no which is more profitable. the truth is no part of the country is indispensable. but we all make life better for each other 1 Like |

GrandGarcon:funny enough this countries you mention along with others like Niger and mail still buy food from Nigeria because of our now low exchange rate. anyway its not all type of food that are farmed in Nigeria or maybe that particular food tyoe you saw was short in nigeria at that time. |

we are developing at a very slow pace .our governor s have a big role to play and our people need to change there mentality. some village s in the east is by far better than some towns in the north .abagworo is right, people living outside should invest atleast 80% of there income in east |

Ugomba:I have always said Igbo's has what it takes to develop themselves ...we have the banks and the market First of all if we are serious ..we can ask our banks to take Igbo development as there key a gender ... We can create a leather and garment industry in aba ,and aba cab also house Petri chemical plants and also rifinaries ..its metal industries can be improved ....but we have a choice to make ibaka sea port or aba river port ... Onitsha should be linked to aba by roads and rail to move goods to aba ...in fact aba will be like our Lagos .....tbc |

YourTerror: I have always been "over-Igbo" well above "pro-Igbo" in the real sense of it. I am totally against running down great Igbo men like IPOB is trying to run down Okorocha. I believe Igbo interest should supersede politics but most Igbos lack that knowledge. Jonathan is worse than the worst Igbo leader in all ramifications if we use his performance in Bayelsa as a parameter and most other people projected by other parts of Nigeria are far below what we have but we keep defaming our stars while waiting for saints. Go and think about this and relate same with what Igbos did to Ekwueme, Ojukwu and Orji Kalu to understand. 1 Like |

I must appreciate all ur input up there^^^ but one thing is for sure, there's nothing under this sun that will make an Igboman not to travel outside SE, if you like built Dubai in alaigbo. As a trader that I am, the competitions here in SE is to tough compare to other regions making our people to move out in drove. Do you know why you u can't find any shop of any Hausaman, yorubaman, Niger Delta middle beltas and any other tribes expect Igbos in the Major markets like Nkwo Nnewi, Mgbuka Obosi and other major markets in the East is because of too many competitors not that the owner of the shops refuses to let them. Even most of our brothers decided to travel to other places where there's less competitions. Anyone who says alaigbo is too small to accommodate all Igbo sons and daughters with their investment is not telling himself a truth. Enugu and Ebonyi state alone will swallow them with their investments just that the needed infrastructure is not there yet. I wish the situation we found ourselves now can bring the best in us... A push for igbos to come back home. 1 Like |

YourTerror: The port question is the most important question of Biafra. Igbos being a tribe of importers shouldn't enter into any venture that limits their access to sea. it's not good for business. Make no mistakes, Ijaws wouldn't allow you dredge the Niger. Ogonis wouldn't allow you dredge the IMO River. Ikwerre that one is non-negotiable. If you must import, look to your brothers in Always ibom. Being a humane people by nature, Akwa ibom is way to go. Igbos should get their PR right on this and open the doors to endless opportunities. thank me later. 2 Likes |

Oil has never been a concern for me, but access to the sea has always been paramount. Our people are traders. The sea is our lifeline, and once that is cutoff we suffer. It is one of the reasons why our first republic failed because access to the sea was cut off from us. We cannot deny this fact. 2 Likes |

The total assets of igbos around the country can be put to 200 trillion naira as at 2016. This is quite a huge sum to leave for others to take advantage of. Our brothers must not come empty handed back to the east because it will skyrocket the vices in the region. I urge all of you to pedal down alittle so that we can set up Asset Recovery Fund (ARF). For us to fully relocate our assets to the east with ease, the igbos have to make deals with banks and other industries in other regions so that they can sell of landed properties, houses and hotels to them. They will need to sell to banks who will in turn sell to customers and rent it out to people. More so, the igbo men can even sell to an igbo real- estate company who will in turn give it out to a leasing company that will manage the buildings for him until we recover totally the amount that has been spent in those areas. This might take more time than the way we are pushing for referendum. This is the best way to go about making those men from the north not run mad because they have been so attached to their properties, leaving them behind is tantamount to giving them heart attack and of course, many will die. We call for supreme convention whereby all igbos should come home this december and lets discuss constructively how we can relocate their assets and families back to the region. The first set that will return are the children. We pay more than 50billion yearly outside the region on education alone. If we channel that amount in the east, many school owners will provide better education in the region. We need to build many boarding houses so that they can stay there until their parents finally relocates to the region. We have to think very hard about the pace of our decisions so as to meet the economic reality of Biafra because whether we like it or not, Biafra will be a country and not heaven, so our actions or inactions will determine the success of the country, therein. |

EzeUche: You are very correct my brother, we are traders and hands men, we need access to the sea and that is a fact that must not be whittled down. If you cut off the igbos from the sea, they will surely have difficulties adapting. Please let them not use other countries as case study but use what we know as the biological makeup of the igbos. If we can get one access to the sea, then there will not be a single problem for us. 1 Like |

We must realize that this is easier said than done. Igbos will need the help of Igbos in the U.S., UK, Canada, Germany and other civilized nations to pour their resources to help achieving the Biafra dream. We must also understand that we will probably be surrounded by enemies with the exception of the good people from Akwa Ibom that was mentioned earlier. Now is the time to strategize. 1 Like |
